Adventure awaits you this weekend! Aim for the bullseye at archery, explore the trails on a hike, and paddle across the lake. Challenge your team on the low challenge course, then test your own limits on the high challenge course. Even more adventure awaits as you fly through the air on our dueling ziplines! All over camp, adventure abounds— the only thing we’re missing is you! All troops must bring Safety Activity Checkpoints adults. Individual girls must be accompanied by an adult. All adults must have satisfactory background checks on file to participate in the program. *Includes activities during the day on Saturday, accommodations in platform tents, and all meals served in the Dining Hall.
Horsing Around FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2, 7PM – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4, 10AM Camp Wood Haven, Pine Grove Grades: 4–5 Cost: $75 / girl $50 / adult Camp + Horses = A Dream Weekend! Enjoy hanging out with horses, the beautiful fall weather, and camping in platform tents overnight! Girls will get to ride, learn how to take care of
a horse, and play horse games. All riding activities will take place weather permitting. No prior riding experience necessary, just a willingness to have fun! After a day with the horses, enjoy some traditional evening activities at camp. Girls need not come with an adult. All troops must bring Safety Activity Checkpoints adults. Archery Aces FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2, 7PM – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4, 10AM Camp Wood Haven, Pine Grove Grades: 6–8 Cost:

Come try your hand at archery and camping at Camp Wood Haven! Learn tips on shooting style and form, and work to improve your aim. Participate in different archery games in addition to learning basic archery, safety rules, and range etiquette. This sport of bows and arrows is a blast! After a day on the range, enjoy some traditional evening activities at camp. Girls need not come with an adult. All troops must bring Safety Activity Checkpoints adults. Come to camp and share your love of horses with younger Girl Scouts! Help teach the Brownies and Juniors grooming, horse games, tacking, and more. You’ll even take a brief ride on Sunday morning before heading home. To attend this weekend and help with the program, you must have a basic knowledge of horses, grooming, and tack. Girls need not come with an adult. All troops must bring Safety Activity Checkpoints adults. All adults must have satisfactory background checks on file to participate in the program. *Includes accommodations in platform tents and all food.
Bike & Boat SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3, 10AM–3PM Sand Island to Canal Park along the D&L Trail, Bethlehem Grades: 6–12 Cost:

Join the Wildlands Conservancy’s team of naturalists and explore the Lehigh River on both bicycles and canoes. You will be biking one direction and canoeing the other way. Gain a unique perspective of the Lehigh River as it flows through out valleys, the diverse ecosystem that depends on it, and the fascinating history that surrounds it. Bikes and canoes are provided for you. All troops must bring Safety Activity Checkpoints adults. Individual girls must be accompanied by an adult. Bring a bagged lunch to enjoy along your journey. Come learn more about how cars work and how to maintain your own from a female mechanic! This workshop gives you the knowledge you need to feel empowered and in control of your car. Learn how to tell if you need new brakes, why there are letters on the side of your tire, how to jump start a car, what to do if your car overheats, and what’s under the hood. Bring the car that you drive, as you’ll be able to apply what you learn to the car you use. Rain date of October 10. All troops must bring Safety Activity Checkpoints adults. Fashion and beauty are glamorous businesses, but it’s the science behind them that makes them cutting edge. Join students from Alvernia University as you explore fashion over the years and examine outdoor fabrics and accessories like transition lenses and rain jackets. Get your lab coat ready as you make and test lip gloss, soap, and/ or hairspray. Create an eco-friendly outfit out of recycled materials for the fashion show! Join Alvernia University Science Association on the crime scene. Be sure to bring your keen observation skills so no evidence goes unseen! Movie magic — it just doesn’t happen without a plan! Learn the fundamental writing techniques behind every movie script, from story idea to storyboarding. Work in teams to take your script to the next level by making your very own stop animation video using LEGO® and computer programs. Discover how to make your characters walk, run, disappear, and even swim in water on the big screen! At the end, each team will have a mini-movie loaded onto YouTube to share with family and friends. Come one, come all! Wood Haven is celebrating its 60th anniversary! Past staff members, campers, troop leaders, parents, or grandparents— come party with us. This fun-filled weekend includes opportunities to enjoy camp fires, field games, the climbing wall, horse rides, and other great camp activities. Join us for the festivities during the day on Saturday, and then spend the night making new memories. Former staff members, start the celebration early with a reunion for you and your families on Friday night. This is a family camping opportunity; at least one member of each family attending must be a currently registered Girl Scout. Overnight participants will sleep in platform tents and Adirondack shelters with their family. *Includes food, accommodations and anniversary pin.

Core Camping has been called many things over the years—consultant camping, camping with the experts, etc. We’re going back to the roots and calling it Core Camping! Troops provide the “Basic Outdoor Skills” trained and First Aid certified adult and we provide the facilitators for the activities! The core staff and activity schedule is taken care of, and you provide the rest.

Explore Gettysburg Battlefield, the site of the largest Civil War battle and one of the most haunted places in the U.S! Sleep over at camp with girls from all around the council, and spend Saturday in Gettysburg. Discover the experiences of young women during the 3-day siege. Visit the home of 20-year-old Jenny Wade, the only civilian killed during the battle. Find out what happened to the Shriver sisters when their family home was taken over by Confederate soldiers. Take a guided bus tour of the battlefield and visit both the military and civilian cemetery. End your day with a “Ghosts of Gettysburg” candlelight tour—voted the #1 ghost tour in the world! Along the way, you’ll learn about (and maybe see or hear!) local ghosts and other paranormal activity. The bus returns to camp on Saturday night. Registration Information Girls can participate in any day program individually (unless otherwise noted), with a group, or as a troop. Special efforts are made to welcome all girls. Please note, while we may be able to accommodate adults in certain situations, program space is reserved for girls. Program registrations are accepted online. Online registration is the best option for allowing immediate access and confirmation of your registration.

IMPORTANT POINTS FOR PARENTS, GUARDIANS, AND VOLUNTEERS • Adult spaces in programs are only intended for the adults necessary to meet the girl/adult ratios, unless otherwise indicated. Chaperoning adults are free unless otherwise indicated by a per person or per adult price for the program. All chaperoning adults must be registered for the program. • All girls attending a program or event must be registered Girl Scouts. Girls new to Girl Scouts can register as a New Member online at gsep.org through the online registration system.

• C ouncil-sponsored programs are designed for specific age/ grade levels. Please only register for programs that are in your age/grade level. • Leaders, parents, and guardians must make arrangements to leave other children at home. Additional children and/or family members are not permitted to attend any GSEP program. • A ll GSEP Sponsored Programs: According to Volunteer Essentials, all volunteers participating in the Girl Scout movement shall meet GSUSA membership standards, which include committing to the Girl Scout Promise, accepting the Girl Scout Law, and registering annually through the Council as members of the Girl Scout movement. Effective January 1, 2014, prior to registering for all programs sponsored by GSEP, adults who are interested in attending must have a current membership that exists on the adult’s record in the online registration system. This applies to all of the programs advertised in SPARK or via the GSEP website or other communication. Cost of registration is $15 and is in addition to the cost of the program. Adults can register online. • T rips & Overnight Programs: According to Volunteer Essentials, when girls go on trips and overnight programs, the group must have at least two unrelated, registered, cleared, and trained adult volunteers. Adults who attend overnight programs or share GSEP property at the same time girls are in attendance need to be cleared and registered to ensure the utmost safety of the girls. Effective January 1, 2014, in addition to becoming a registered adult member of Girl Scouts, any adult who registers for an overnight program with GSEP will have to successfully complete a Criminal Background Check prior to program registration. By logging onto the Become a Volunteer page of gsep.org, the adult will be directed to apply for a Criminal Background Check (CBC). Following successful completion of the CBC, the adult can then register for the program. • D ue to planning issues and safety concerns, walk-in girl and adult registration cannot be accepted at any GSEP event.
REGISTRATION DEADLINES
CANCELLATIONS
Registrations are accepted until the program is full or two weeks prior to the program date, whichever comes first. Please allow at least four weeks lead time from the program date for processing of paper registration forms.
GSEP reserves the right to cancel an event due to insufficient registration, acts of nature, or other reasons beyond our control. In the event a program is canceled, a full refund will be issued.
We cannot guarantee paperwork submitted less than four weeks in advance will be processed in time for you to attend the program.
Weather-related cancellations: if you are concerned with the weather, please contact the facility where the program is taking place. When possible, the event will be rescheduled or a refund issued.
CONFIRMATIONS Confirmations with necessary details will be sent to all registrants by email approximately two weeks prior to the program date. SPACE AND ATTENDANCE Program space is limited. Attendance capacity is based on the needs of the program itself and cannot be adjusted due to late registration, transfer requests, troop needs, etc.
For cancellations in advance, email notification will be sent to each registrant. For same day cancellations, an attempt will be made to call the phone number available on record. Phone numbers and emails can be updated at any time through the online registration system when you visit your online profile on our website at gsep.org.
Program capacity and space availability can be viewed online. TROOP REGISTRATION Only approved 01 troop leaders can register current troop members online using the troop management feature. PAYMENT Payment for all programs is due in full at the time of registration. Space will not be held for any registration forms submitted without the full payment amount that is due. REFUNDS Requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to ebiz@ gsep.org at least four weeks in advance of the program date for consideration. Refunds are not issued for “no shows” (registrants who do not attend). Refunds are not issued for cancellations occurring less than four weeks in advance or if numbers are reduced less than four weeks prior to the event.
