Once a Girl Scout, Always a Girl Scout! Who are Girl Scout alumnae? Every woman secretary of state, 80 percent of women business owners, and 69 percent of women U.S. senators just to name a few! Girl Scouts has built its success on a deep commitment to timeless values and building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Since 1912, women have explored new fields of knowledge, learned valuable skills, and developed strong core values through Girl Scouting. Women who were once Girl Scouts display positive life outcomes to a greater degree than women who were not Girl Scouts. These outcomes are strong sense of self, challenge seeking, positive values, healthy relationships, and community problem solving. This is the case for all Girl Scout alumnae, across ages/generations, social classes, and race. (Girl Scouting Works: The Alumnae Impact Study, GSUSA)
