Letter from the CEO and Board of Directors Chair

Dear Honoree,

Thank you for your extraordinary commitment during an extraordinary year. We are so pleased to recognize and congratulate you for service above and beyond the call of duty in powering the Girl Scout Movement through a worldwide pandemic.

Let’s pause and reflect on what that means.

When stay-at-home orders were issued, you found creative ways to keep troops connected. You learned how to hold Zoom troop meetings and guided girls through badge journeys without seeing them in person. You helped girls help others through community service projects such as food drives, mask-making, and cards and gifts for isolated elders. You mentored girls through Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award projects. You kept beloved Girl Scout traditions alive with virtual Bridging ceremonies and campfire singalongs. And you did it all while also weathering the pandemic and all the ways it impacted your own lives.

Our theme for the 2020 Girl Scout year is resilience, and each of you exemplifies that theme in powerful ways. You inspire us daily with your strength, determination, selflessness, and creativity. Girl Scouts are resilient because Girl Scout Volunteers are resilient.

Thank you for all you do for the girls, families, and communities of Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles.
