The cookie season is a very visible time for Girl Scouts, and as a representative, you may get asked a few questions. Below are suggested responses. If you do not feel prepared to answer, refer customers to customercare@girlscoutsla org
Why don't you have cookies?
If we don’t carry a certain cookie, it’s likely because the bakery connected to our council does not produce or no longer produces that cookie (e g , Lemonades come from the other Girl Scout Cookie baker)
Where do the cookie proceeds go?
Troops use their cookie money for activities, field trips, service projects, and materials A portion also goes back to the local Girl Scout council (a nonprofit) to support their activities
Did the price of a package change?
Yes, the price of all varieties is now $6.00.
Do other areas sell their cookies at different prices?
Yes, each Girl Scout council determines the price of their cookies Prices vary nationwide, although most of our surrounding councils are selling theirs at $6 a package this year
Do you have a new cookie?

Do you use palm oil or GMOs?
Palm oil is an ingredient found in the majority of baked snacks sold in the United States GSUSA's licensed bakers tell us it continues to be necessary to use palm oil in our cookies to ensure their shelf life, to bring you the highest quality products, and to serve as an alternative to trans fats. While we continue to explore other alternatives, at this time, there are no viable or readily available alternatives on the market
Can I donate to Girl Scouts instead of buying cookies?
Yes! Through our Cookies for the Community program, customers can donate cash to send cookies to servicemembers or to partner charities A donation can be of any size; it does not have to be the price of a package
Have the cookies gotten smaller?
No, Girl Scout Cookies are the same size and weight per package
Are you selling cookies online this year?
Yes. With The Digital Cookie online program, girls can learn about goal setting, communication, and send secure emails to customers to receive online orders and Cookies for the Community (C4C) donations. Customers pay online, whether they request girl delivery or to have them shipped directly from the baker
How do I get my daughter into Girl Scouts?

What do you do with your leftover cookies?
Cookies that don’t go to a customer are donated through the Cookies for the Community program Many troops give their extra boxes to local charities
Does Girl Scouts have a relationship with Planned Parenthood?
No. Girl Scouts of the USA which includes Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles does not have a relationship or partnership with Planned Parenthood
Does Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles (GSGLA) allow transgender children to join Girl Scouts?

Cookie Booth Checklist
Find full guidelines in the Cookie Family Guide, Troop Cookie Chair Guide, LBB eBudde system, and any other published guidelines
Deck out your booth with marketing accessories from your local GSGLA store
Bring a print out of your troop's booth sign up confirmation.
Bring a table, chairs, and a Girl Scout or green tablecloth
Place extra product and supplies under the table.
Make a poster to display the troop's goal and plans for how they will use their proceeds.
Display your Cookies for the Community sign
Always mention the Cookies for the Community donation program, especially to customers who may not want to purchase cookies.
Have extra cash to make change for customers. (Tip: use a fanny pack or crossbody purse to keep money on you.)
Recycle grocery bags into cookie shopping bags and save cookie case boxes for multiple item buyers
Bring the telephone numbers of your service unit (SU) boothing chair, SU cookie program chair, SU manager, and product program manager.
Take ALL trash with you when you leave Do not put empty cookie cases in the store's trash can
Follow all boothing and site-specific guidelines and booth etiquette
Follow guidelines noted for each specific location in the LBB eBubbe cookie tracking system
Be sure to follow any and all CDC, state, local, GSGLA, and GSUSA health and safety guidelines.
What if another troop is in your spot when you arrive?
Print out a copy of your reservation confirmation and bring it with you The troop with the printed confirmation has the permission to be at the site Adults should settle disputes courteously and model good behavior for girls

Cookie Booth Guidelines

Boothing Hours
Boothing hours are between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on weekends*, and 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays.**
*Only Junior Girl Scouts and older may booth after 6 p.m.
**Only homeschooled or track schedule Girl Scouts may booth before 2 p.m. on weekdays, provided there is a booth poster displayed explaining why they are not in school
A Daisy Girl Scout should not booth for more than an hour at a time
Safety
Ensure at least two adults are present at all times.
Have a plan for safeguarding money. Ensure adults handle ALL money for Daisy Girl Scouts
Do not follow customers into a store or parking lot
Never approach cars to make a sale. Follow all CDC, state, local, GSGLA, and GSUSA Covid-19 safety guidelines.
Appearance
Girls should be easily identifiable as Girl Scouts by wearing a membership pin and official uniform, sash, vest, or other Girl Scout clothing
Conduct
Arrive on time and stay until your shift is over.
Upon arrival, adults should always check in with the store/location manager.
Be polite and clean up after you are done. Take trash and empty cookie cases with you. Follow the guidelines and etiquette outlined by GSGLA
Communicate with Confidence
By brushing up on the following:
Cookie descriptions and pricing
How you will greet customers and keep them engaged
Your sales pitch
Cookies for the Community (C4C) and other options for purchasing cookies
Your goal(s) and what you plan to do with the proceeds
