A message from your CDO Women of Distinction Unboxing the Girl Powered Future Girl Scout History Museum And more...

—Juliette Gordon Low “
The work of today is the history of tomorrow, and we are its makers.”

Message from our CDO

One of my favorite quotes comes from our founder Juliette Gordon Low, “The work of today is the history of tomorrow, and we are its makers.”

The quote is so remarkable because it speaks to our past, present, and future. Those of you who invest your time, talent and treasure today are providing the foundation for our leaders of tomorrow. And yet we also stand on the shoulders of all the women who came before us. I think of my grandmothers, Marilyn and Margaret, my great aunt, Lois, and my mom, Cindy—each a Girl Scout—and how they paved the way for me to serve this great organization. And I think of my niece, Violet, who is just starting her Girl Scout journey as a rst-year Brownie. I know many of you have a similar family legacy, and whether you are a rst generation Girl Scout or the tradition goes back generations – YOU are an important part of our Girl Scout family. This spring we are honoring our past and investing in our future. We celebrate the grand opening of our History Museum, we honor ve exceptional women at Women of Distinction, our Girl Scout entrepreneurs are opening cookie booths across WNY, and our camps are being prepared for an exciting Summer Camp season.

Read on to see all of the exciting ways to support and invest in our girls this season, and remember: her future is our future!

Women of Distinction

Her future is our future! Join us in championing the change-makers of today who inspire our leaders of tomorrow. We are proud to present our 2024 Women of Distinction Event. Your support of this event provides our girls with the opportunity to see into their future. Before the event, Girl Scouts take part in life-changing mentoring sessions with the Women of Distinction. Later their courage, con dence, and character are on display as they run the event; girls emcee the program, present and honor the women, and work as greeters and Girl Scout representatives.

Women of Distinction is also an opportunity to recognize women who exemplify our mission by inspiring our Girl Scouts to dream, explore, and become creative problem solvers with the ability to tackle challenges to make our world a better place. These community leaders show strength of character, dedication to community service, and commitment to encouraging girls. We look toward the future with these women as role models in their personal and professional lives.

It’s not just a fundraiser, it is a truly inspiring event with a heartwarming mission at its core. Below are our 2024 Honorees.

Over 1.1 MILLION packages of Girl Scout Cookies came into WNY the Week of March 18…

and just as quickly those packages were distributed through our Mega and Truck Drop locations. MEGA thanks to all who made this amazing feat possible:

All the Girl Scouts who brought their smiles and tireless energy… every mom, dad, grandparent, aunt, uncle, neighbor, 2nd cousin once removed who helped… the inventory takers and loaders… the Service Unit Product Program Managers… the GSWNY Board members who are also Troop Leaders… the cookie case Tetris masters... the U-Haul maneuvering bosses… the master fork lift operators… the snow pants-wearing volunteers and sta standing in the snow (SNOW!)…

the Radio Flyer Wagon picker uppers… and every single person who arrived with a smile and participated in the adventure.

Our girls are Unboxing the Future… because of YOU!
