Train with real-world heroes and see what it takes to be a firefighter, police officer, and emergency medical technician as you explore these careers. Every teen who attends will create memories for a lifetime.
CampHERO will help you find courage, gain confidence, and build character all while preparing you for a future career in the protective services. The program is safe, hands-on, and geared for teens your age. When you successfully complete the class you will receive a certificate from MATC recognizing your accomplishment. MATC will also keep a record of your participation.
How you’ll spend your week Each day you will be bused to MATC in Oak Creek or the Milwaukee Safety Academy to develop skills on the training grounds. Your week will be jam-packed with activities from all three career fields:
• Learn about blood splatter analysis and crime scene processing • Use the jaws of life to extricate a crash victim • Learn CPR • Chase down and handcuff a suspect • Rappel down the side of a building • Perform search and rescue • Get self-defense savvy • Visit the police and fire safety training academy • And more! In the evenings, trade in those computers and cellphones for campfires and bonding time with your friends at Trefoil Oaks Program Center. All of the fun you have develops your leadership skills, increases your independence, and connects you with nature as you adventure in the great outdoors.
