[Warehome] maximalized small housing supervised by

BOW WOW This project is about updating an old warehouse/industry building in the centre of Salonika city in order to facilitate housing. The result is a series of small houses with a special use. In every case, some of the facilities of a house is ‘stretchedout’ to cover the largest part of the house, creating a unique character for each of them.

An empty

metro station Diploma Studies Design Studio “XXL-Architectural Design and New Technologies Instructors: Stavros Vergopoulos, Anastasios Tellios

The design sees the metro station simply as an underground cavity created to host an eternally flowing movement in many directions. The metro station is home to interconnections and traffic circulations. So, the station itself is an empty space of transition and nothing more. Its nature and purpose is only diagrammatic. All that is needed is a body to hold the circulation.

BELOW All the systems are joined together. The soft system is the means to hold the floor piecess that adjust to the deformation traces. It also holds the staircases and ramps. And so, a simple system of pure connectivity.

CENTER top: the initial soft system. The soft linear system is penetrated by objects that follow desired routes in the volume of the metro station concrete box. center: side views of the selected episode. next: the traces of the space generated at the episode. bottom: the soft structural system joined with space traces, awaiting for the circulation elements. LEFT Floor investigation in all levels. The floor follows the voids of the deformations and develop in three separate levels.

NEXT TO LEFT Contiluous tomografy of the deformable system. Each row of lines that made up the initial rectangular system is placed one on top of the other forming the tomography of all sections. The right tomography shows the initial sections and the left shows the translation of the deformations into angular shapes.
