Every place has its own identity whis was build throughout its history. Identities hollow out in time and makes the past and creates an İllisuon, in return the city is bound to the limits of its history and unable to grasp the reality of today’s world, it imprisons the city makes it more resistant to change, interpretation, renewal. Identity cosistsof culture but culture is not static it is obliged to change, disappear, revive with time. Cities should protect their histories but should not try to resuscitate it. Every era the main actors change and in response to this, our solutions to the changed problems should be readapted to suit its time. In my case Kağıthane has a rich history since the Ottoman period. It is a place trying to hold on to its historical culture which in today’s world is nothing but an empty vessel a shell. The actions of the municipality to reactivate Kağıthane or the Ottoman nam es given to gated communities are good example of th hollow reminder of the urban memory. In the post modern era we live in today, where construction is shifted from horizontality to verticality, whre the skyscapers will be the definitive typology of our era, they exis everywhere and swallow everything creating a dead buffer zone around it. This is the same case in the north of Kağıthane. It is been seized by skyscrapers and large amount of husing units around its periphery. These create different landscape components with no interaction between each other. The coast of Kağıthane stream has a large radial of impact and has the potential to link these components and create a co-existent communiity with a sustainable enviroment.

After the fabric analysis of Cendere Vadis, I determined the intersection area of different fabric as the focal area. Althis area is the fastest changing area along the cendere valley. A new identity has been defined recently. The area whose old green texture has been destroyed while trying to be transformed into a silicon valley.

After the upper scale analysis, I made point analyzes in order to better understand the region. The loss of the historical texture of the area and the reinforced concrete construction caused the region to lose its old texture. The continuity of the green axis of the Cendere valley, which is connected with the northern forests, has been broken. Re-creating this axis is one of the main aim of the project.

Houses that produce their own food were built in the newly created living space. The new houses were placed at the points determined on solar analysis to ensure the most efficient production.

A new grid plan is drawn with the largest gap at the center. The newly designed city plan on this grid is placed at the highest level with the old texture.
The roads placed on the grid system connect the spaces.
After the analysis, I started to design a new living space module within the selected focus area. For this, I first suggested 4 basic changes to improve the area. The changes can be listed as building invertions on the grid plan used as a base, rearrangement of the roads and rearregement of the shore border.

New housing texture on grid system is recommended instead of destroyed housing weighted building texture.
The creek is pulled up to the border of the new urban void, allowing the reuse of the idle coastline with a new coastal plain.

Pro.Town (production town) project is located on the edge of Kağıthane stream. Although the region is known for its historical texture, it has lost this texture in the last 50 years. The locations of the erased historical traces took dense residential texture and large concrete surfaces. The new housing concept built in these areas is inspired by the usage practices in the historical past of Kağıthane. As in its old texture, the production activity that benefits from the stream merges with the housing. Defines a new urban lifestyle that lives with producing. The Agricultural Town project aims for a lifestyle that is self-sufficient, produces, transforms and shares. It aims to create a strong society with the common experience of production in urban agriculture. “It offers an edible housing unit”

According to the researches, it is foreseen that the agricultural areas will be insufficient by 2050 due to the population increase in the world * Therefore, it is important to include areas where production can be made in new housing units for the continuity of life and for the citizens to feel safe. Research shows that individuals who have the opportunity to produce their own food feel economically safe at the same time encourage “urban / agriculture” social unity in these low-cost farming areas. It provides social exchange between different ethnic and social economic groups. The shared experience strengthens the sense of belonging to the community Thanks to the open circulation system in the Pro.Town project, open and closed common areas, residents reinforce their sense of living together. As of today, 30% to 40% of food production is lost due to failures in the transportation, storage and distribution chain in the world. For these reasons, “Building the building to feed the city” solves the waste food problem, reduces greenhouse gas emission, and reduces consumption and energy savings in the urban market. These low-cost agricultural areas under the control of citizens also provide economic vitality, protection of the landscape and the environment. Thanks to the agricultural areas to be added to the structures, the use and transformation of urban wastes (waste food that may be composted) and natural resources (water, sun, wind) are ensured.
Urban farming areas, which are often seen as “hobby gardens”, are used spontaneously and discontinuously. In order for these areas to take a permanent place in the future in the form of sustainable life, a common new order should be established in the units to be established. This order can predict that it will provide continuity in case it provides economic benefits. From an economic point of view, it can be said that urban agricultural activities will produce high economic value through efficient production strategies. In addition to producing its own food, profits from the production surplus ensure the permanence of the order. The level of employment increases and indirectly, the micro enterprises with the agricultural cycle increase the potential to win. Pro.Town proposes a local cycle in the common market area for the continuity of this system. Successful production can be achieved with calendars. Agricultural Town provides 900m² of agricultural land (700m² of open agricultural area and 200m² of greenhouse area) as well as 950m² of residential area of a residential unit.

Studio Project VI - Group Project Cemre Acar - Gizem Atalık - Sevde Ekiz
Karaköy, one of the most important ports of Istanbul throughout history, is a coastal settlement that has lost its relationship with the coast, which is not used today. The area that has been demolished and rebuilt throughout history is still a more important trade axis. It is also one of the important transportation nodes of Istanbul. it offers easy access to many educational institutions. Therefore, in order to prevent the gentrification of the region, we suggested a comprehensive student center in this area. We have designed cultural area, working area, workshops, club areas and open spaces. Our main goal in our project was to add a new user profile without gentrification the region. We also tried to diversify the existing trade with the new user profile. We reorganized the poor coastline. We have designed open spaces to work with the structures we have proposed. We tried to adapt the porous and small piece structure of Karaköy to the forms of our structures. Thus, while trying to stratify between the regions, we tried to carry the feeling of the old.

HOUSING UNITS Studio Project IV
In order to properly engage with a larger urban area and an issue as crucial as housing, I will carry out extensive research on the urban context, urban forms, relevant precedents and the notion dwelling. Project site is a 10 hectare medium density housing area in Çanakkale, Sosyal Konutlar Mevkii. Developed through the 1980s, it lies on the eastern edge of the centre and runs between two dominant east‐west lines of the urban macroform, Sarı Çay on the south and Piri Reis Street on the north. Despite what its name suggests, the buildings are in fact not social housing in the proper sense of the term. In any case, since it is developed as a whole through a repetition of similar units, building blocks, and open spaces it forms a very recognizable urban fabric, distinct from the parcel‐sized apartment blocks dominat in the rest of the city center. Thus, a healthy dose of densification of the already urbanized area could potentially ease the pressure on the urban agricultural belt.

The project area is located in one of the most popular square in Istanbul.Today the building in the project area is serious problem for users. Unusable structure interrupts pedestrian flow. I suggested a music and exhibition venue instead of the structure. The new building offers viewing points for the galata tower. it also creates a new axis for pedestrians with its permeability.
Human Circle Diagram
In order to better understand the region, I walked not only to the Galata square but also to the other three squares that it established relations with. I studied pedestrian intensifies. I took 2, 3 and 5 minute walks to create the human circle diagram. In doing so, my first aim was to examine the effect of the slope in the terrain and its surroundings on human movement. At the same time, I designed to construct my approach to slope. But at the same time I have provided a lot of data about human intensity thanks to my human circle. I examined the slope and density as factors affecting the speed of walking. I saw the effect of the gradient on the density. In this way, I edited the inputs of the construction and withdrew the structure for the square that the area needed. combining the most intense main front entrance with the exhibition area, I made it work together with the square. So instead of the old building that was invisible, I provided an alternative space for people. Based on my human circle diagram, I have structured the structure by taking long references. So I made reference to the continuous movement in the region and created more surfaces that people could touch.

The project aims to solve archaeological site program. Area located in the Datca peninsula and has two programs for the needs of two distinct user groups. First programs buildings for turists and second programs buildings for archaeologis. Area connects with two different parts of the time, today and past. The regio is very windy in every period of the year. For this reason, the primary factor in the placement of structures was the wind. Also a suitable place to take refuge. Therefore, boats and yachts prefer here during the summer. However, there no service facilities.
The orange areas on the map are paths, different users often use. However, the area was dominated by the dysfunctional structures built over time. So I based on the habits of the users. I have accepted paths as solid. In this way, I wanted to keep the flow of users in the wide area without interrupting the structure.Structures created a shaded area. At the same time, the strong wind cut off the protected area. Like the sheltered area provided for sheep boats thanks to cove.

I divide 3 by purpose of use of the space in this way, I have directed the users directly to their usage areas. I tried to provide the privacy that archeologist need when positioning their accomodation.

Structures are positioned to cut the wind. The facades were deaf. Shadow areas were created with sun protection units to reduce the overwhelming effect of hot climate. It also provides outdoor areas have been protected from the strong winds, thanks to the positioning of the structure.

A short studio project. The aim of the project was to build a night pod project one square metre. I created an individual area by customizing the input and output.This small project was positioned like a parasite stuck to the tree. But instead of organic forms of nature, I prefer to use the geometric form of structures.

The TUNNEL Basıc Design Final Project

In this group project we designed a tunnel with a complex array of space cage system using our 3 modules that we developed to form a whole together. We started working on your design at 1/50 scale So we have met many problems with the details of the combination.We solved our problem by designing a connection detail. Thanks to the joint detail we have developed, we have been able to build our tunnel in its actual dimensions, which we designed at 1/50. Thanks to our system and connection details we were able to construct a 4 meter wide and 5 meter long tunnel that reaches 3.5 meters high at its highest point and 4 entry area.

Six - Winged for twelve and nine joints
In the first step work, we have designed units that will form an arch by joining each other. Carrier, medium and upper, we have obtained 3 different units. We've merged units in a regular way.
Our projects’ has coplicated combination details. After trying a lot of connection details, we made our own connection joint. Thanks to the plug-in system we use, we have increased the production speed of our fittings and reduced the cost.
Eight - Winged for hexadecimal and binary combinations
We have derived variations of our winged connection piece for different number of junction points.
