Alex’s Journal: Journey to the New Planet By Alex
Finally, we left Earth’s orbit. We were going to a planet that we would name Planet PX92.
Clare, Bob, Alec, Jen, and me, Alex, were chosen to go on the mission to live on the new planet. Alex had blue eyes, red hair, and likes digging. Jen has blonde hair and hazel eyes and likes singing. Bob has black hair, green eyes, and is good at chess. Alec has blue hair and green eyes. Clare has white hair and blue eyes.
We’re all 8-year-olds that have finished college. We were chosen because the younger you are, the healthier you are. And, the younger you are, the longer you will live. We were five children who were chosen to be the brave explorers to discover a new planet that could support human life.
They gave us a ship that had a hyper-drive boost and never ran out of energy, unless it was broken. On the ship, we each had a cube that you could put in all you wanted and it would never, ever, fill up.
The cube was about the size of a pinkie and inside looked as if it had blue gel and the walls were clear like glass. Since the Earth was dying, we were able to get anything we wanted from any store we wanted.
NASA, the group that chose us, sent us to build a new space colony because the Earth was dying. In nine days, the biggest super volcano in the world would erupt and the Earth’s moon would crash into planet Earth the day after the eruption. This is just a weird but deadly coincidence.
Five Years Later “We’ve finally made it to the other side of the solar system and we have landed on a planet that has trees to make oxygen that we can breathe,” said Alex. dZZZZ… A strange sound came from out of the ship.
All of a sudden, an airbreathing squid with a drill shell jumped in through the walls of the ship. Bob reached for the plasma-blaster. Bam! He killed it
He fixed the ship but it exploded. Luckily, they all got out before it exploded. Nothing was broken or damaged but the ship wouldn’t fly again. Since it was broken, they only source of energy they had was a small, circular device that produced energy – but not enough to fly the ship.
So, now they were stuck on this planet. They would have to use the natural resources to learn how to live a new life ‌ except for the energy ball.
Outside, the air was muggy and the ground was rocky. By coincidence, there were pine trees, apple trees, pear trees, and a strange tree never discovered before. There were odd shaped clouds and far off in the distance, there were mountains the shape of potatoes.
Clare set up camp by pressing the button on the automatic camp setter upper. When she pressed the button, the automatic camp setter upper multiplied into five camp setter uppers.
Then they grew really big and turned into five five-star hotel resorts. Each resort had its own swimming pool, hot tub with motors, a hologram person, a limousine with a pool inside, and ninety rooms not including the work-out room. All the rooms were very big, had their own beds, chandeliers, and automatic hot tubs in the room. All of this was made out of a material called 5X9 that comes out of the Camp Setter Upper and can take on any shape and form.
Meanwhile, Jen found a lake and did some tests to determine if the water was drinkable, and it was. I collected edible fruit from the trees. Once they collected all they needed – food, water, and shelter – to survive on the new planet, they turned to doing what they usually love to do.
Alex went to dig holes to find out the history of the planet. Jen went to practice her Scales and Arpeggios. Bob and Alec started a chess tournament, like usual, that went on for a long time. Clare collected leaves from trees, attached them to her shirt, jumped off a tree and tried to fly. She kept on trying to find ways to fly, but didn’t get any success. This is all that the brilliant kids did for a long time.
One Season Later It was winter and the smart kids hadn’t saved any fruit in the past season. “Alex, Alex, we’ve run out of fruit and it stopped growing on the tree,” said Clare. When Clare left my campsite, I left to go and check the trees myself. Then I noticed something. I looked up and saw that it was snowing. I went back into my tent, and got a jacket made from the clay in the dirt.
I went back outside. As I walked, I noticed something. The tree that was never discovered before we got to this planet had changed.
The large ball at the top had split open and fruit came out. One tree’s fruit could last us for the whole season. I went to ask Clare to do some tests on the fruit to find out if it was edible. Luckily, it was. We watered the tree to thank it for its wonderful fruit. We were saved.
