What we are not seeing in the market are many currently existing condos. There are, however, over a dozen new construction condos being built in Girdwood presently. Girdwood’s real estate market is going strong! The precipitous change we have seen in most of the country and Anchorage from a seller’s market to a more balanced market is due to inflation and the increased interest rates. This has not slowed the pace or the competitive market in Girdwood. The Girdwood market is an island unto itself, and typically reacts to adverse economic news with a slowing in the pace of sales, but with little or no impact on prices.
