or ages, people of the world have endured numerous natural disasters and deadly pandemics that have devastated millions .The Black Death, Cholera, German Fever, Ebola, Avian and Swine Flu are all pandemics that have ravaged in the past the entire population in our planet «Earth» All these pandemics and other devastating viruses have consequently become a real nightmare haunting human memory, so much that they have left pain and indelible marks in the hearts of millions of people. Even today, history seems to repeat itself as the whole world is struggling to cope with this new virus, Covid 19, which has claimed the lives, in the space of a few months of thousands of people in the four corners of the planet. This umpteenth devastating pandemic, known as «Coronavirus» , surprised scientists and researchers with its harmful and devastating effects. It was a real massacre that threw the entire population into social isolation (confinement) in addition, the obligation to wear a

But despite the prolonged siege of the coronavirus and its pressures which are not yet ready to subside, it must be said that this pathology has still had some positive effects, especially on our planet and its ecosystem. Indeed, despite all the human and material losses caused, this virus has been, from another perspective, more forgiving than humans on the planet as it has spared a real disaster. The earth, with this confinement imposed by the ugly Covid-19 virus, finally had an unexpected stop to breathe and regenerate. The isolation of billions of people, the stoppage of road and air traffic, the freezing of oil and industrial activity have given the opportunity, in fact, to our planet «Earth» to recover after decades of pollution affecting even the two most precious things in the environment, namely air and water. The large polluting clouds have dissipated to reveal the beauty of the horizons in many parts of the planet. And the abrasions from the ozone layer eventually healed. The earth was thus saved since these wounds, which for a long time led to the most suffocating global warming, almost caused a real disaster on the earth. The coronavirus, with its devastating and cruel effects on humans, has also made it possible to dispel hatred, revive consciences and arouse the most beautiful feelings in order to finally find the world we love. Hundreds of wealthy and politicians, many sports and art stars and thousands of ordinary citizens have all united to come to the aid of the sick and the needy in an unprecedented outpouring of
solidarity. Their mobilization could not be more admirable, indicating a sincere desire to face the virus which has spared no country or any social stratum. Donations amounting to billions of dollars for the supply of food and medicine, charitable actions to support needy families during periods of sanitary confinement, the distribution of provisions and protective masks, awareness campaigns launched by associations aimed at populations and individuals, via social networks ..., in short, unprecedented solidarity has won over all countries of the world without exception. All of this would not have been possible without the «Covid-19» crisis. A crisis that brought compassion, unity among all humans, and made it possible to paint one of the most beautiful pictures that humanity has ever produced. A table that we could, moreover call «The Covid of all mercies». These beautiful actions and initiatives which have multiplied across the whole world also denote a belief in life, in love and in the upliftment of the soul. Human beings, if they are receptive to cries of the heart, are able to let go of their selfishness in order to spread only noble feelings of mutual aid and solidarity. The glimmer of beauty and hope has ended up illuminating a high quality artistic scene, embodied by the guardian angels of the planet «Earth» whose heroes are, among others, only doctors, nurses, agents of the civil protection, but also businessmen, cinema artists, celebrities and millions of simple and anonymous people who have all mobilized in a momentum imbued with noble feelings to defeat the cruel and tyrannical Covid-19 virus.

Lebanon the land
of all arts shocked
At the beginning it was only a dream, but by believing in it, persevering and multiplying the attempts, Lebanese Arab cinema was born. It was indeed necessary to dream but above all to nurture great ambitions to launch this 7th art in a country under foreign protectorate and experiencing innumerable development difficulties.

his project or the idea of producing cinematographic works in this small Middle Eastern country germinated in the 1930s. At the time, many individual actions were undertaken to inaugurate this little-known art in the region, they all failed. because of an unfavorable context due to the world conflict of 19391945. We therefore had to wait for the end of this great war to come back and relaunch, once again, Arab cinema through the gateway to Lebanon, a country that breathed art in all its facets. Indeed, the country of the cedar was the most able to launch the 7th art, given its rich history and its millennial civilization.
The country of the Phoenicians can therefore only succeed in its work and give birth to the best artists of the Arab world of the time in the field of cinema and music as well as in literature and poetry. Lebanon is well on its way to being the torchbearer of an Arab region fallen by the vicissitudes of history. Moreover, it has become, in the field of the arts, the flagship country from which Arab culture will henceforth shine.

He also knew how to combine the most beautiful texts with a haunting melody to make them eternal works that are hummed, until today, in every home in the Arab world. Although he is dead today, his songs have survived him as they are often heard and repeated by posterity. But the voice is not, we discover, necessary only in the field of music, it is just as important in other arts such as cinema, theater, television series, radio broadcasts ... etc. Abdel Majid Majzoub, the great actor of the 70s and 80s, has succeeded elsewhere in the world of cinema thanks in part to his melodious voice. Of course, the actor has other artistic qualities that have allowed him to become a star of Arab cinema, but it must be said that the singularity of his voice has also contributed to conquer the hearts of millions of fans both in Lebanon and in the Arab world. © Photography by Elena Veselova

The success of the Lebanese song is associated, according to many musical art critics, with the genius and creativity of the «Rahbani» who have contributed so much to the staging of many Lebanese stars. This artistic family known in Lebanon as «The Rahbani Brothers» took care of everything: the compositions, the orchestrations and even the lyrics. Their work is prolific and their contribution to the success of oriental song could not be more considerable. In fact, it was them who discovered and launched the diva of Arabic song, Fairuz in this case. She has indeed sung in many countries, which has earned her the adulation of a large audience and honored, on several occasions, by many political leaders. The latest honor was a medal of merit awarded to her by French President Manuel Macron on the occasion of his visit to Lebanon following the Beirut port tragedy. This tragedy which mourned Beirut on August 4, 2020 , it should be remembered, dozens of deaths and hundreds of injured. Initial reports indicate that it was an explosion in a stockpile of aluminum nitrate located in one of the port areas of the capital.

This disaster has moved more than one in Lebanon as well as around the world. Interview with Lebanese star
Abdul Majid Majzoub An icon of the golden years of Arab cinema Réalisé par Faiza Ragdi
He is considered one of the icons during the golden age of Arab film and television production. Abdul Majid Majzoub, was indeed one of the most famous Lebanese actors on the artistic scene during the booming years of Arab cinema and audiovisual production. Some even consider him a giant, a legend of the small screen in the 70s and 80s. This positive image that we have, until now, of this outstanding man is after all legitimate since Majzoub has , to his credit, a rich track record in artistic productions. He has worked all his life to enrich the Arab cultural scene as well in the field of knowhow, his many and varied talents went beyond the simple audiovisual framework to explore other horizons and enrich other artistic genres such as theater, literature etc... But despite his gifts, Majzoub is often keen to expend his knowledge and learn continuously. He is an avid reader and addict to literature, especially poetry, because he knows that talent alone is not enough to shine on the artistic scene. It is his disposition to move forward and to perfect his knowledge that has made him, a television star that his Arab audiences are not ready to forget. Today he is known and recognized throughout the Arab world, not only for his tender and warm voice, but above all for all the roles he has played so successfully in numerous audiovisual productions. Glamour Fashion and Beauty went to meet this great Lebanese actor to talk to us about his life and especially his richest and most accomplished artistic career.

GF&B :
For agreeing to grant us this interview. Glamour Fashion and Beauty is both honored and delighted to share this moment of friendly exchange with you. It is a real pleasure to talk with the great artist that you are, Mr Majzoub!
Abdul Majid Majzoub : Please! But first, I would like to greet, with all my heart, all readers of your magazine. On the contrary, all the pleasure and all the happiness of an artist, whatever he is and whatever his notoriety, is to participate in interviews with the media in order to continuously inform his audience. So it is I who thank you for this invitation. We just hope that our exchange will be as fruitful as it is beneficial for the readership of your magazine.
But let’s be objective. The name of course, as everyone knows, is Abdel Majid Majzoub. I was born in the city of Tripoli in northern Lebanon on April 11, 1940 to a father named «Mahmoud Majzoub» and a mother named «Hafiza Rostam». We are supposed to belong to the great tribe «Majzoub» whose territory stretches over the entire Lebanese coast «Sidon, Beirut, Tripoli» to the north of the Syrian coast «Tartous, Latakia». However, the «Majzoub» have their origins in the Greater Maghreb One of the grandsons of our great-grandfather, Sidi Abdel-Rahman Al-Majzoub, did indeed reside in the city of Meknes in Morocco. It happened, however, that one of his grandchildren came to settle in Lebanon a long time ago, which explains the presence here of the «Majzoub» who subsequently spread all over the place. along the Lebanese coast. I grew up in a fairly conservative religious family. I opened my eyes to a house which had a rich library, however, consisting mainly of books dealing with religion, including books of exegesis and explanation.

GF&B :
Of course! There is no doubt that our readers will appreciate what the idol and star you were during the golden years of Arab cinema. So let’s start, if I may, with the introductions, Who is Abdel Majid Majzoub? The question certainly seems embarrassing enough but it remains useful as it will allow to update the new generations who do not know, perhaps, the television star that you were.
Abdul Majid Majzoub : In principle, to introduce oneself implies to say who I am. Who is my father, my mother? It could be a short, simple, and succinct answer. As it could however require a rather exhaustive answer, requiring an hour of time to tell you half of my personal life. 18
Glamour fashin & beauty
Since we are talking about birth and origin, how did Abdel Majid Majzoub spend his childhood and youth in a most difficult historical context, a context characterized by general insecurity, especially since your birth coincides with the outbreak of the second world war?
Abdul Majid Majzoub : Indeed, but by the grace of God, it was a joyful and innocent childhood. I especially kept an image of a child with a very vivid memory. I did indeed have a sharp memory. I recounted past events to my mother especially, with such precision that she was amazed. I would describe to her, for example, in close detail, the place where I was born and raised until the age of six. It must be said that the place was of such beauty, of such originality that it remains etched in my memory.
As for the young Abdel Majid, I was, to tell the truth, a spirited and benevolent person, whose parents were amply satisfied. Then, like many young people, I chose my own path in life. I then took studies that had nothing to do with art. I even had to go to FRG (West Germany) to hone my knowledge and prepare a diploma in offshore oil exploration. Once the training had been acquired, I had to work for 5 years in one Gulf countries.
GF&B :
You said a coincidence. We guess it was a fortunate coincidence that allowed you to break into the radio and television studios. You subsequently succeeded in conquering the hearts of a general public with your talents. Would you like to tell us how this coincidence came about that brought you to the world of micro and small screen.
I never thought of doing art at the time, until one day I found myself, by chance, in this profession which completely changed my life. It must be said that it was fate that willed it. I never chose art, rather it was art that chose me because I am, perhaps, a lucky, selfless and caring person. Here is in brief the story of my life before I landed in the art field to practice in particular on radio and television. It is through these two channels that I was able to participate in the artistic work, which has earned me today to be known throughout the Arab world.
Abdul Majid Majzoub :
I would answer your question in two parts. First, as I said earlier, I started my professional career in petrochemicals, specifically deep sea oil exploration, where I held a leading position. We are called, by the nature of this profession, to work for long periods on the high seas, far from our families. It is therefore a job that is both perilous and exhausting, especially since we were only entitled to ten days’ leave every six months. Personally, I have worked in many Arab countries and even beyond, in Turkey, Greece and Cyprus. We looked forward to the time off when we could reunite with our families and loved ones. Personally, I was often anxious to be reunited with my mother, whose health was quite fragile at the time. I also took the rest period to go to Beirut to have fun like all the young people of the time. He insisted and informed me that he should meet some respectable friends after the race, including a chic and attractive woman. She was a singer in Kuwait and her name was Wadfa. Hearing the name of this woman, I could not believe it and immediately asked him not

without great astonishment. “The Kuwaiti singer! that lives in Kuwait? «. “no,” he replied, “Wadfa is more Lebanese and her real name is Assia Ghandour. «. At that point, I was carried away by the idea. I was even excited about this meeting, because I was a fan of this great and beautiful artist. As soon as the horse race was over, we went to see this woman. So I had the opportunity to chat with her; and it didn’t take long for her to notice that I had a beautiful voice. She then asked me to sing her something from her repertoire. I picked up the lute and started singing. She was delighted to hear me rehearse her songs. I think she liked my voice that day… but also my personality.
GF&B : A very nice coincidence that allowed you to reunite with a star that you have never dreamed of before. And of course, you were as curious as we are now to know what happened next. But how, through this encounter, did you come to the world of art?
Abdul Majid Majzoub : What happened was that after this meeting, a great relationship developed between the two of us. I fell in love with her, it was the first love of my life. We kept in touch by exchanging many letters and correspondence. Far from her, I longed to see her again. One day, no longer tolerating this situation of estrangement, I asked my boss for exceptional leave. He refused because of the workload which did not allow my absence, especially since I was active and devoted in my workstation. I even had to lie that my mother was sick and that I had to be with her as soon as possible in Tripoli. The boss didn’t want to know anything and categorically refused to grant me this leave. I then decided to give up my job despite all the financial benefits I was getting. 20 Glamour fashin & beauty
I returned to Lebanon in this way, caring little for the consequences that would result from my decision. The very day I arrived in Beirut, I met Professor Hassan Ghandour, Wadfa’s brother. He was also a man of art and a great composer in Lebanon. And without even thinking, I asked him for his sister’s hand, the marriage was concluded the same day. Looking back, I can’t believe it, but it turned out that way. After committing this hasty marriage offense, I left for Tripoli to inform my mother. She had taken the news badly at first, especially since I had acted alone without even consulting her, asking her opinion or informing her. But the mother’s love was stronger and she ended up accompanying me to meet my wife. It had gone well although I had a feeling that day that she still had a pang in her heart because of this incredible affair. I have to admit that I acted in a less elegant way towards my dear mom. One day, I accompanied my wife to the Union des artistes studio. She had an appointment for a recording as part of her work. There, I accidentally met three great directors who contributed a lot at the time to the development of television directing techniques. These are Soubhi Abu al-Ghad, Abdel Majid Abou Laban and Ghanem al-Dajani. The three who have enriched radio libraries with records and other radio productions in Lebanon and throughout the Arab world. While I waited in the adjoining room, someone raised the question of the Arab army’s setback in the Six Day War (1967). Then
ensued a debate which I could not resist despite my discretion. I then stepped in to tell my truths on the matter, emptying all the beautiful feelings of nationalism buried in me at the time and shared by almost all young people of my generation. All of a sudden, Professor Soubhi Abu alGhad called me and asked without warning: «Do you want to come into the studio and make me listen to your voice on the microphone, please?» «. I was amazed at his slightly sassy request and said, “Yes, why not! «. We entered and he handed me a book, the famous book of «Kalila wa Dimna». He pointed at me what I should read. At that point, I was seized with a serious feeling, that of a candidate about to take an exam. It was a decisive feeling and full of responsibility. So I picked up the book and started reading. Then he interrupted me to say, «Mr. ‘Abd’, you have a beautiful voice! Do you want to work with us on the radio?». I was surprised by his proposal; and unconsciously agreed, nodding my head without saying a word. This is how I found myself in radio and in the art world in general.
to his home to personally train me to start working with him. He offered to participate, in a television work whose director is none other than Mr. Abdel Majeed Abu Laban. I was over the moon and quickly accepted his proposal. The next day, I went to the studio where I met the director and the cast, including «Jihad Al-Atrach» and «Khaled Boutari». I introduced myself to Professor Abdel Majeed who greeted me well so I started to work. After only three months, I was given the lead role of another TV series, which has not been without jealousy of some of my fellow actors. They didn’t understand how a young man new to radio could take the lead role in this series? Since then it had become a habit, I was often asked to play the main roles in the various radio and television productions. I played in many series such as «The wounded hand», «The foreigner’s secret», «The hooded rider», «The camels», «The white mask», «Leila and El-Bouraq» … Etc. I have also interpreted in other soap operas, the role of certain historical personalities or famous men against even that of the great writer Mahmoud El-Akkad.
GF&B : A beautiful love story and a beautiful destiny that only a daring young man confident in his abilities can achieve. You were thus adopted and encouraged by the greatest directors of the Union des artistes of the time. Then how did you achieve success by becoming this great artist that we talk about until today?
Abdul Majid Majzoub : After this exam session, the great teacher Soubhi Abu al-Ghad came up to me and asked me to sit with him , He told me that he appreciated my qualities very much, especially my calmness and my selflessness. «When you speak,» he said to me, «you do so politely but above all with such restraint and elegance.» I believe the man liked me that day and ended up adopting me. He invited me from elsewhere www.glamourfashionandbeauty.com
Glamour fashin & beauty 21
GF&B : Sir, don’t you think that «The White Mask», «The Wounded Hand», «The Literary Trials» and the many other productions in which you have participated, have paved the way for you to the television series that has known the greatest success, in this case «Around my room». This masterpiece was, so to speak, the prelude to a true star career in art and television. You also excelled in «Amru Al-Qais», «Al-Moutanabi» and of course «Allo Hayati», which was a sequel to the wonderful soap opera «Around my room». You formed an impressive duo with Hind Abi Al-Lamaâ. What is your comment on that and how do you describe the performance of this duo with the late Hind which made an impression on viewers at the time?
of the soap opera «Around my room». We have therefore decided to resume this series but under another name «Allo ma Chérie» with the participation of new actors such as Ibrahim Merâcheli and Georgette Naboulsi who have added something to this new production which has been just as successful. During the three years that followed, we did a wonderful job producing a dozen series, each equally successful, such as «Lara and the Sea», «The House of Doors». Then I wanted to move on to another stage. I then founded my own business which I called «Kholoud Productions», named after my beloved daughter Kholoud. This is how I entered the world of film and television production.
Abdul Majid Majzoub : Absolutely, but I have to say that I was quite lucky throughout my acting career. It was indeed a beautiful duo with the late Hind (Peace to her soul). In fact, we were often asked to share the main roles. I remember more particularly the series «The Night Musician» directed by Antoine Rémy. This production was a great success because, from the broadcast of its first episode, it managed to capture the interest of millions of viewers throughout the Arab world, both in the Middle East and in North Africa.
GF&B : The television series «Allo Hayati» (Hello my dear!) Was, for you, a comeback on the scene after a long absence due to hospitalization. Tell us, if I may, about this artistic production.
Abdul Majid Majzoub : After a hospital stay followed by a long recovery, I couldn’t wait to get back on the scene. My first decision was to bring together the whole team of actors who participated in the second part
Abdelghani Benhariza
GF&B : So you created this company after a long experience as an actor. And that was the starting point for another creative work, you who have now become a producer. Tell us briefly about this new experience.
Abdul Majid Majzoub : In fact, the idea of creating this company germinated during my presence in Qatar where I was invited by friends to participate in a cultural program that was broadcasted during the month of Ramadhan. After my return to Lebanon, I put this idea into practice by creating «Kholoud Productions», and the first work carried out by this company was «The last days». It was a great audiovisual project which required enormous resources,

above all the participation of many actors who came from different Arab countries, such as Egypt, Morocco, Syria, Jordan, Kuwait… etc. Many anecdotal stories happened during the filming of this work, but thank God, everyone was satisfied because all the actors who took part gave the best of themselves.
the public who were obviously thirsty to see our duo Majzoub and the princess Hind again.
GF&B : We’re coming to the end of the interview. How do you assess, Mr. Majzoub, your entire artistic career? And what is the secret of all these successive successes that have accompanied you throughout your acting life?
Then, I continued with another work «The forbidden master». This new soap opera consisting of thirty episodes was intended in particular to spread the fine values of morality. I deliberately chose this title to say that stumbling is now prohibited in this kind of question. In this series, I shared the lead roles with actors Nabil Badr and Chérine.
Abdul Majid Majzoub :
GF&B :
The choice of artistic works and roles is just as decisive in maintaining this strong relationship that unites me with the public. I never accepted a role that could spoil my image or raise any reproach from my viewers. I learned and applied one thing: you always have to respect yourself enough to be able to earn the respect of the public.
Mr. Majzoub, even if «» The ultimate days «and» The forbidden master «have achieved great success, the fact remains that viewers are not ready to forget the charming duo that constituted Abdel Majid and Hind. What do you think ?
In addition to the luck that has always smiled on me, I believe that, throughout my life, I have been very rational in the choice of works and series in which I have had to participate. I have a lot of respect for my audience, so I always make sure that my behavior, on and off the stage, is correct and respectable.
Abdelghani Benhariza
Abdul Majid Majzoub :
GF&B :
It’s true! In fact, we have received many messages and calls from the public asking us to take over this duo that has been the dream of thousands of viewers and other admirers in the past. So I decided to resume service with the adorable Hind in a new series called «Don’t Say Goodbye!»
Abdul Majid Majzoub :
The series consisted of 13 episodes telling a beautiful love story. I even participated in the writing of the screenplay, particularly that of episodes 12 and 13. However, the shooting took place under difficult conditions due to the insecurity that prevailed in Lebanon at the time. But thank God! this work was also a success with www.glamourfashionandbeauty.com
We leave it to you to conclude. What will you say to readers of Glamour Fashion and Beauty?
At the end of this pleasant interview, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the opportunity to communicate with the public. Finally, I want to say all my love and thanks to all the staff of your magazine, as well as to all your readers. I wish all humans around the world all the best. Indeed, from Wuhan, the Chinese city where it first appeared at the end of December, this devastating virus has spread like wildfire to invade all countries around the world, causing serious unprecedented health crisis. At first, we might have thought that Chinese doctors would be able to isolate and contain this virus in its own home in this Asian province, but it is clear later that , it is the Covid-19 that ended up putting the whole world in a serious crisis and in most tragic confinement. The devastating effects of this virus had spilled over from Mao’s country to now affecting all people of the planet, especially those of the great nations which have been hit hard from the onset of this pandemic. The dazzling transmissibility capacities were quick to pull the World Health Organization WHO out of its gloves, which declared, on March 11, 2019, a global pandemic with dangerous consequences for the health of citizens. The reaction of this organization follows the spread of the virus in many countries, such as Vietnam, Thailand, Japan, South Korea ,Taiwan, then the United States of America, Germany, France. and the United Arab Emirates during the month of January only. The Covid-19 did not stop there as it then continued to invade the rest of the world for the months (February and March) that followed. Flo

he stars of cinema and art were not outside the outpouring of solidarity that has gained the world in these days following the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. Indeed, these celebrities who used to cheer up and entertain the public, decided to take action, but this time to actively contribute to the solidarity campaigns to fight against this unprecedented devastating virus. Occasionally, the best examples of generosity and commitment to save humanity from the coronavirus hecatomb. Normally we will say, since an artist or a star is fundamentally a sensitive being. He/ she cannot therefore attend without reacting to this Grim Reaper called Covid-19 which wreaks havoc in the four corners of the planet every day. This was confirmed on the ground, in a very beautiful way, since there were hundreds of celebrities to answer the call and to donate large sums of money to governments and associations to come in help of people affected by the pandemic. Rihanna, the American singer with an exceptional voice, was one of the first artists to be part of this solidarity campaign. She donated $5 million to her charity to support the efforts, such as «Direct relief», «Feeding America», «Partners Health» as well as the solidarity fund recently created by WHO and the International Salvation Committee.

Leonardo DiCaprio, the other great Hollywood actor, was also part of this long chain of solidarity. In the world of music, the stars of the chansons are also mobilized in the war against the ugly Covid-19 virus. American singer Taylor Swift took part in the solidarity campaign with a large sum of money, but the amount was not disclosed to the public as well Its financial aid will help, according to some indiscretions, to pay the wages of a group of workers working in one of the largest record stores in the United States. The singer also paid for their health insurance for three full months. All these charitable acts are just a sample of a multitude of actions carried out by many Hollywood stars and other celebrities in the art world. The participation of all these stars made it possible to spread the spirit of solidarity and unity throughout the planet, especially since the objective is the same everywhere. The athletes were there Far from the limelight and media scoops, world elite athletes have also mobilized in various campaigns of solidarity with the victims of the coronavirus. The reaction of these athletes did not, moreover, surprise anyone since sport is above all ethical and fair play before it is a physical competitive practice. Sports celebrities cannot therefore miss such an event to participate with donations and other contributions to deal with the destructive virus of Covid-19. It is about the health, even the life of entire populations, and the athlete is very sensitive to this subject. Thus, the famous Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola was the first to react to the coronavirus hecatomb, by donating one million euros to equip the Barcelona hospital with medical equipment and other means of prevention for the nursing staff of this health facility. At the same time, the big stars of world football Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo did the same to support this fight against the ugly virus. Barcelona star Messi has donated one million euros to two hospitals, one in Barcelona and the other in his native Argentina, according to the Mundo Deportivo website. Ditto for Ronaldo who disbursed the same amount www.glamourfashionandbeauty.com
of money for the benefit of three intensive care structures under the hospitals of Lisbon and Porto. Bavarian goleador and Poland national team star Robert Lewandowski was not left behind. He, too, has put his hand in his pocket to donate one million euros to support Germany’s war efforts against Covid-19. It must be said here that, beyond the human losses caused by this virus, footballers reacted in this way because they experienced very badly the consequences of this pandemic, with the cancellation of some sports competitions and especially the ban on supporters to access the stadiums to see their favorite stars play. The participation of all these monsters of world football in the fight against this health tragedy generated, moreover, an immense outpouring of solidarity, since there were hundreds of other athletes to join the various solidarity campaigns to help. to people affected by the pandemic, in the hope of getting rid of it completely and thus return, as soon as possible, to normal life. Politicians, businessmen, movie celebrities, sports stars as well as charities and charities have all mobilized in a surge of compassion and humanism to participate in the fight against the ugly coronavirus. Glamor Fashion and Beauty cannot stand still in the face of this unprecedented tragedy. From the spread of the virus, she joined the solidarity campaigns, echoing the suffering and misfortunes caused by this coronavirus and welcoming all the charitable gestures and all the solidarity actions undertaken in this context to relieve the victims of this tragedy. She did not stop there, since she also got down to making and distributing, thanks to her company, large quantities of protective masks designed with such finesse by stylists who have chosen the best types of

The dexterity and elegance that Glamor Fashion and Beauty has put into the manufacture of these masks is able to give, to the wearer, additional energy allowing them to face the harmful effects of the virus and to strengthen anyway. little his psychological immunity. These masks designed for both adults and children have been distributed free of charge to hundreds of citizens of different social strata in the United States of America and France. They were thus worn by the doctor, the nurse, the lawyer, the engineer, the security guard, the cook, the administrator, the veterinarian, the university professor, the real estate agent, the waiter. , the athlete and even the homeless. The distribution of these means of protection came at a time when many countries are experiencing a shortage of masks and medical equipment to guard against Covid-19. Veteran Captain Thomas Moore A tireless dedication to the homeland
S
ir Thomas Moore, also known as Tom Moore, is a former captain of the British Royal Army. This officer who distinguished himself throughout his military career for his heroic commitment and selflessness in the defense of his homeland, is today considered England among the oldest surviving army veterans. In fact, he has to complete his 100th birthday this year, since he was born on April 30, 1920. But rather than bustling about celebrating the event, this old soldier on the eve of his birthday went to raise money to support his country’s efforts in this new global war against the coronavirus. And what was his surprise! A prize pool of 33 million pounds which he managed to raise, whereas initially he counted only on the trifle sum of 1000 pounds. But how did he manage to raise this massive amount of money? On April 6, 2020, Thomas Moore, who was still 99 years old, decides to take up the challenge by making a series of marches for the benefit of a charity committed to the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. The idea was to make, before his hundredth birthday, a hundred crossings in his garden, 25 36 Glamour fashin & beauty
meters long, in exchange, he pocketed a thousand pounds that he will donate to this association.
as the «Yorkshire Regiment Medal» and «Star War Medal 1939- 945» war medals.
This generous action, however, had an echo across the country and the veteran officer managed, thanks to extensive media coverage, to reach the sum of £ 30 million on the evening of April 30, the very day of his birthday. It must be said that the action of this centenarian, so courageous and so laudable, reacted to public opinion, which thus mobilized to help the man in his charitable work. By this gesture, the veteran captain showed that he is indeed an exceptional man who does not want to rest or remain indifferent in the face of a destructive virus which is wreaking havoc among his compatriots. It seems that the patriotic streak of the man, who had previously devoted all his youth to defend his homeland with arms, is so strong, so alive ...
Thus, neither his many decorations nor his advanced age discouraged him from once again taking the initiative and being on the side of his people in this tragic ordeal. The soldier he was could not remain indifferent, as thousands of his compatriots perish under the relentless onslaught of a ruthless virus.
Indeed, Thomas Moore who was born and raised in the United Kingdom has dedicated his entire life to the service of his country. He joined the army very early on and was involved in all fights to defend his homeland. His heroism is such that he has been repeatedly honored and decorated with titles such
He decides - in a last burst perhaps - to take up the challenge by indulging in this painful physical exercise to participate in the collection of donations intended for the NRH caregivers so that they stand firm in the face of the devastating advances of this murderous machine that is Covid-19. This reinforcement to lend a hand to soldiers in hospitals has been hailed across the country, including politicians, the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson proposing on May 19, 2020 to award him the title of «Knight» (the knight). An appointment that was immediately approved by Queen Elizabeth II on May 20 and formalized seven days later. Flo M

The coronavirus imposes its dictate to the world of sport
S
ince World War II, the world of sport has never been faced with such a difficult, confusing situation as it is today. And for good reason this Covid-19 pandemic, which has not only wreaked havoc in the world, but also disrupted all areas of life, including that of sports competitions in the 2019/2020 season. This devastating and unpredictable virus has ended up overpowering all organized sporting activities in the world, by decreeing a curfew for all athletes in the four corners of the planet. No national or international competition, in any discipline whatsoever, has been able to escape the dictates of this cursed Covid-19, which has managed to impose its restrictions on all players in the world of sport. Between postponement and cancellation, the organizers have no other choice in the face of the injunctions of this virus which continues to prevail causing inconvenience upon inconvenience to the sports organizers who have difficulty, to develop (or to respect) the calendars of the different competitions. The first major event to suffer from this unprecedented situation was undoubtedly the Olympic Games which were to be held in Tokyo on July 24, a grandiose event which brings together the great athletes of the world was finally postponed by the IOC. Then followed a series of cancellations and postponements in countries around the world. China, for example, has decided to suspend, as of March, all competitions that would take place on its soil. This country, hit hard by this destructive virus, put an end to the Chinese Super League 2020. As it canceled its participation in the competitions of the AFC (Asian championship and cup), in the winter games of the Arctic as well as sports activities organized by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. At the same time, the international football federations «FIFA» and «AFC» have announced, in turn, the postponement of the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup which should take place during the 3 51
Glamour fashin & beauty
months of March and July. UEFA, the powerful European federation, was not left behind. It also took urgent measures by postponing its various competitions, such as the Champions League, the Europa League, the final of the Women’s Champions League which was to be held in May as well as the major continental meeting, in this case the European Cup of Nations «Euro 2020» which will now take place in summer 2021. In Africa, the situation is not rosy either. The president of the African Football Confederation (CAF) Ahmed Ahmed announced in turn, the postponement of the final phase of the African Cup of Nations which will take place in Cameroon. Initially scheduled for January 9 to February 6, 2021, this continental competition has been postponed for a year and will therefore be held in January 2022. Local competitions were also not spared from the postponement trap. Major European leagues such as Italy, Spain, England, France, Germany have all suspended their football competitions. In other disciplines it is the same observation, the same disillusion. In motorsports, Covid-19 has managed to block the road to the Formula 1 world championship which should normally start on March 15 in Australia. The competition ended up being canceled. Ditto for basketball since the various leagues in this discipline have announced the suspension of all their sports activities. Basketball fans will have to wait until next season to be able to watch games like the NBA, the most popular championship on the planet, in this way, provided of course that by then the virus has taken its seat in sports competitions. In Africa, the inaugural season of the African basketball league which was to be held in March 2020 has been postponed. The same is true in Asia and Europe where continental competitions have either been postponed or suspended altogether. The Turkish government has done the same, too, by forcing its basketball league to suspend, from March 19, all
its sports activities, while the Scottish clubs refused to resume competition at the next social return, ending to a chaotic season. But despite all these blows it has inflicted on the sports world, the Covid-19 did not stop there. It continued to crack down to get to the little yellow ball. For example, the Roland Garros tournament in France, scheduled between May 25 and June 7, was postponed to September 20 and the Wimbledon tournament was canceled altogether. As for the other competitions organized by both the World Association of Professional Tennis Players and the World Women’s Tennis Association, they were simply suspended until July 13. As it has also been decided to postpone the final phase of the Fed Cup for women’s tennis teams scheduled from April 14 to 19 in Budapest, Hungary. Other disciplines have also been forced to shut down because of the pandemic. These include baseball, cricket, cycling, indoor athletics, golf and even horse racing, ice hockey, rugby and skiing. That’s to say all the damage the nasty virus has caused to the world of sport. The 2020 season will be remembered, not for the records and prowess of athletes, but for the undetermined number of competitions canceled or postponed.
A «conditional» resumption of the major world championships The virus which struck the sporting world with so much cruelty and without discernment, ended up provoking indignation and resistance. There is no longer any question of resigning oneself and abdicating in the face of this calamity which wants to stall the entire human
machine and freeze the entire planet. Some disciplines have therefore decided to react and rise to the challenge by resuming competitions despite the gravity of the situation. Their decision appears to be a form of resistance that we must now oppose to this unscrupulous virus that does not want to back down. This is how UEFA officials announced at a press conference on July 17 the resumption of Champions League competition for the 2019/2020 season between August 12 and 23. Players from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and other Spanish clubs have resumed training in May in preparation for this European Cup and, in turn, prepare for next season’s La Liga. The fact remains that this resumption will be done, this time, under close supervision of the health authorities and in strict compliance with the protocols established by the league committee and the Spanish Supreme Sports Council, such as the obligation to wear gloves and protective masks. In China, the epicenter of the pandemic, the national football league also resumed its activities on July 25 in a climate of compassion but above all with the will of players who wanted so much to challenge the ruthless virus, despite all the dangers that ‘they might incur. For its part, the English Premier League has set the end of May for the resumption of matches and competitions, insisting, however, on the strict application of preventive measures, such as the closed session imposed on clubs during the 92 remaining matches. In Africa, the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports also announced in mid-June the date of July 25, 2020 for the resumption of the various national competitions. Previously, Australian clubs returned to sports on July 16. But this somewhat early return to competition unfortunately widened the list of injured players among the players, despite all the preventive measures taken by the organizers.
Names fall and others stumble over coronavirus www.glamourfashionandbeauty.com
Neither physical condition nor mental toughness has been able to immunize the athlete against the pandemic that has been raging around the world for several months. Covid-19 is, it seems, so powerful, so devastating that it has ended up taking casualties, including in the world of sport. And among the athletes who have been affected by the Grim Reaper, we can cite Vitor Raphael Bastos, this talented Portuguese soccer player considered the youngest athlete to have succumbed to this fatal disease. He was only 14 years old.
Roony and Samuel Eto’o. It also hit some leaders of the round ball, like the president of the Japanese Football Associatio Kozo Tashima . The virus has succeeded in reaching all categories of athletes and destabilizing almost all sports federations in the world. It imposed, in the space of an pandemic, it’s crown of an invincible and cruel king inflicting pain on all players in the world of sport. Nouara Boubir
Somali football legend Abdelkader Mohamed Farah, Atlético Madrid goalkeeper Jose Luis Capone and Iranian soccer player Ilham Sheikhi were also defeated by the pandemic. It should be noted in this context the death of the president of Real Madrid between 1995 and 2000, Lorenzo Sanzet and the legend of Iraqi football Ahmed Radi who had scored, the only goal of his country during the World Cup in 1986. In the same context, a large number of players have been affected by the pandemic. Some of them have made public their infection with this virus, while others have preferred to keep silent about their illness. We can cite here, for example, the best player of the CAN 2017, Cameroonian Christian Mougang Bassogog who contracted Covid-19 in the Chinese championship where he had played for several years. Omar Zakari of the Tunisian club Ittihad Ben Guerdane was also infected with the coronavirus. According to local press, he is the first Tunisian player to be infected with this pathology, along with Mikel Arteta, the coach of England’s Arsenal team. As for the clubs, it is the great Juventus team in Turin that seemingly hold the most players affected by the pandemic, such as Paulo Dybala, Daniele Rugani and Blaise Matuidi. The Covid-d 19 was not satisfied with this record, already very heavy, since it also attacked former stars of world football, such as Kenny Dalglish, the legend of the Liverpool team of 80s, Paolo Maldini the ex-captain of Milan and the Azzurra Squadra, as well as the former English and Cameroonian football stars, respectively Wayne

Nacer Chellou : A creative genius springs from the tumult of the pandemic The Covid-19 virus managed within days to spread around the world, sowing death and desolation in every land,in every patch and in every corner of earth. Indeed, no nation, no human race, no social stratum has been spared by the surge of this viral pathology which has created a climate of stupor and phobia haunting humanity forever. The planet has never recorded as many deaths caused by an pandemic as those who fell in 2020. But despite the magnitude of this tragedy resulting in thousands of victims, it is clear that it has not yet succeeded in overcoming the hope to cling to life, nor the determination to fight this destructive virus. On the contrary, Humanity redoubled its efforts and sacrifices, this was clearly visible in all countries and at all levels, through unprecedented mobilization and solidarity. But beyond this salutary reaction, it must be said that this health tragedy made it possible, to update skills that had long been marginalized to release initiatives that we must now capitalize for the good and progress of our societies. Among the many skills that emerged from the shadows worth mentioning this young creator who has now become an icon in his country, which has not ceased, since the spread of the Covid-19 virus, to amaze with his impressive inventions. This young man who resides in Algeria precisely in the wilaya (department) of Chlef in the west of the country left to become an eminent engineer, so much his inventions have surprised more than one, in this case: Nassir Chellou where Glamour Fashion and Beauty kindly paid a visit.
A turbulent child with promising talents A child arrives in this world surrounded by the attentions of a father who has devoted his whole life to fulfilling the noble mission of a teacher in one of the primary schools in the Chlef region. Nassir thus grew up with an educator father in a conservative family known throughout the region for its high morals, he turned towards knowledge and science. He was admittedly a difficult child but that did not affect his school performances . On the contrary, he knew how to use this somewhat overflowing ardor to always be excellent every time. Still, he had always remained insatiable because he was ambitious, curious, always wanted more, so he engaged in other activities such as drawing and painting to probably express all his buried talents. He learned to draw, color and paint from an early age. He even managed to sell some of his drawings to children at his school, and the money he earned from them was used to buy books and other school supplies. Nassir successfully completed his first BEM (Brevet d´unseignement moyen) teaching certificate. He also obtained, in this exam, the best average of the entire administrative district on which his college depended. However, he didn’t stop there, as he continued in high school with such good results. His time in this new establishment made him discover yet another passion, that for combat sports. He practiced Kung fu and Wushu with such passion that he managed to win the title of champion in Taolu in 2006.
Total body paralysis: is this the end? In high school, Nassir was enrolled in the field of experimental sciences. And as usual, the young teenager excelled in his studies, He was therefore on track to easily get his baccalaureate, but fate decided otherwise. A few months before this exam, Nassir was diagnosed with a virus that devastated his spine exponentially, so that he became completely paralyzed.
From the will are born miracles A full year of paralysis and suffering has passed and there was no sign that Nassir’s condition would improve. One day the long-awaited miracle happened. 42
Glamour fashin & beauty
While Nassir was in a deep sleep, he suddenly awoke to a terrifying voice ordering him to get up immediately. «That horrifying voice,» he says, «scared me so much that I jumped out of my bed without realizing it. I then found myself on my legs which, paradoxically, were holding on. I didn’t realize, until today, that moment that allowed me to regain, thank God, the use of my legs.» Young Nassir went back to school without delay. He took the baccalaureate and succeeded. He then joined the university, he applied him self, he relearned how to live again overcoming an illness as incurable as it was fatal. But again, another hazard slowed the momentum of the young enthusiast. His mother fell seriously ill , he was thus obliged to take care of her and to watch after his siblings who were still minors. So he took on the role of mother and big brother, a mission that took him away from the university benches. This awkward situation precipitated his failure at the university. This was his first disappointment since he began to frequent the places of knowledge. But that in no way altered his will to do better.
The situation of the Chellou family becomes bleak. Nassir is distraught, even outraged, as he is now seen by his peers and parents as a boy dragging failure and bad luck. This gaze affected him so much that he almost fell into a deep depression. Discouraged and frustrated, he stepped aside, isolating himself for a few days in the nearby forest amidst nature and the shade of trees. But the 19-year-old had to pull himself together very quickly. He thus decided to resume, after long hours of meditation, his studies and take up the challenge again. He absolutely had to come back to his initial level. He redoubled his efforts until he obtained a license . But ironically, his mother relapsed once again and Nassir therefore bend over backwards to reconcile his studies and the needs of his family.
Indeed, the combat athlete he was never let go. He decided to roll up his sleeves and work to help his family, without giving up on school. He worked very hard to succeed on both fronts. Unfortunately the plague of diseases does not seem to let go. Once again, he suffered an unfortunate fall which caused a nasty fracture in his knee and confined him to bed for several days. He thus lost his livelihood.
The master: the challenge of survival He was having trouble making ends meet. He was forced to miss many sessions during his university training, as a consequence, he could not pass the pitfall of the theoretical first year of the master.
An ambition postponed to Greek calendars www.glamourfashionandbeauty.com
But as soon as his mother recovered, Nassir regained hope and energy. He devoted himself body and soul to studies, brilliantly defending his master’s thesis, the theme of which dealt with the «seawater desalination technique» with the most rational electricity consumption costs. In fact, in his research in collaboration with the American company ERI Energy Recovry, he succeeded in lowering electrical costs to 70%, which earned him an excellent jury score18,50.
Glamour fashin & beauty 43
Tomens: the beginning of success So he started an engineering company, a project that initially seemed difficult to achieve in a country where skills are often either stuck or stalked. He teamed up with his lifelong friend Sid Ali Nacer who was impressed with the idea of this project to harness technology to find the best solutions to reduce manufacturing costs. It was the start of an adventure that promised a lot. The two friends spent nearly a year working and offering their services free of charge to various institutions and laboratories in order to popularize and disseminate their ideas in Algerian industrial circles.
So many obstacles for a young hopeful Nassir leaves the Algerian university armed with a diploma. He was finally happy to be able to realize his dreams, especially in the field of research and scientific inventions. A Hungarian university, having learned of his abilities through his master’s thesis presented and posted on the net, offered him a scholarship. The young Algerian was thrilled to leave to continue his studies in other skies. He prepared all the necessary documents to fly to Budapest but unfortunately the Algerian bureaucratic reality caught up with him. His request to continue his studies in Hungary was refused by the administration without any valid justification.
Tomens defies Covid-19 As soon as the Corona virus spread around the world, including in his country, Nassir Chellou and his team got involved in the fight too, with their knowledge against this pandemic. They designed an artificial respiration device and a machine to manufacture protective masks at a cost much lower than the cost of importing them from abroad. However, the absence of some electronic components in Algeria and the cancellation of all import trade transactions due to international isolation measures, prevented the project from materializing.
This decision did not affect the morale of the young enthusiast either , he decided, since then, to fly on his own, seizing on his own all the opportunities available to him to make his dreams come true.
However, the Tomens team did not remain inactive as they witnessed the tidal wave that is increasingly claiming victims around the world. So they had the idea to design another project to build high-quality sterilization tunnels to international standards that will serve to significantly reduce the risk of infection. 44 Glamour fashin & beauty
They set up a first tunnel which they installed at the entrance to the hospital in the town of Chlef. This 3.7m high and 3.5m long invention can sterilize anyone about to enter the hospital. The success of this project encouraged Tomens to produce seven more models which were all distributed in the wilayas of Chlef, Tiaret, Tlemcen, Oran, Algiers and even at the El Harrach penitentiary.
Projects in perspective The manufacture of equipment, the development of engineering strategies to rationally manage various economic projects, the installation of automatic sterilization tunnels to international standards and a partnership with a Czech company are all actions that were carried out by this young company. Tomens did not stop there, his ambitions were so great, so the company intends to move on to other projects. It even fosters the hope of manufacturing an electric car for large companies to facilitate internal travel between their different production units.

Salah Djebbar, story of a lifetime A portrait at the origin of an undying love
the one who made this shattering intrusion into Salah’s life to become his beloved wife. Neither did she know that a trivial artistic event would be the source of a strong bond and undying love. She too was overwhelmed by her stay in Algiers, during which an encounter with art completely changed her life. But how did fate bring these two characters together in a very real fairy tale? During her presence in the Algerian capital, Anne, who was fond of plastic arts, went one day to an exhibition organized at the Palace of Culture in the city of Algiers. It was during the year 1990.
Who would have thought that eternal feelings are born from the sole source of the imagination to draw characters and tell new stories with, in the end, a beautiful love story, whose love at first sight started from a painting drawn by a talent imbued with art and aesthetics? The artist did not imagine that his picture, which he had certainly painted with great passion, would be the prelude to a romantic encounter that turned his life upside down and took him far from his native country. Neither did he know that a simple drawing made of shapes, lines and colors would strike a woman’s heart so much that she did not hesitate to bond with her destiny for eternity. He knew that a word, a look or a perfume could attract a woman, but he was far from thinking that a still life would have so much impact and seduction on the sensitive being who would become, a little later, the partner and the spouse of a lifetime. The man in question here is Salah Djebbar, a child of Kais, a town located in the Aures (Algeria), is the painter who has known this fabulous destiny thanks to the brushstrokes given to a drawing canvas. The other character in this very real love story is Anne. This young girl, of French nationality, who came to visit her sister residing in Douéra in the suburbs of Algiers, is 3

While there, as she looked at the works on display, a portrait particularly caught her attention. She stood in front of this painting for a long time, making no gesture as if she was hypnotized by the gaze of the depicted person. She was, in fact, surprised by the striking resemblance between her own person and the character depicted in it. The same face, the same complexion, the same features, the same expression ... it looks like she was looking at herself in a mirror. She was delighted but also astonished and dumbfounded. How could a painter manage to create a portrait that looked like her?. Does she have a double here in Algeria that the author has reproduced in this portrait? So many questions that tormented her mind, especially since she was neither known nor publicized by magazines or other television channels. How is it that her image ended up there to line the walls of an exhibition in a country that is not hers ?. There are certainly paintings inspired by the imagination that could refer to very real people, but here in this portrait, the resemblance is such that one would rather believe in a photograph than a work made by hands, skillful they were. and professional. She had to have an explanation. She then went to meet Salah the author of this portait to try to understand how she came to be in his imagination when he had never seen her before. It was just a coincidence but a happy coincidence as it quickly turned into a romantic relationship. So a simple work of art sealed the fate of these two people who left to live together the rest of their lives.
But Salah was not present, he was unable to make the trip to the capital due to health problems. His artist friends Djaâfri, Bouzidi and Naceri who also participated in this cultural event, did not fail, back in Khenchela, to inform him of the impact of his works which greatly seduced the Algerian public. that he was not there, he had stolen the limelight from his fellow painters during this artistic activity. In 1990, he was invited, once again, to Algiers, this time to participate in another exhibition organized at the palace of culture in the capital. And this is where one of his works ended up completely transforming his life. This painting of a portrait was, in fact, the essential element that brought him closer to the woman of his dreams. It was through this work that he met the beloved being with whom he will live henceforth and for eternity. This sensitive being was Anne. This young woman decided, after being seduced by the portrait, to buy it at an extremely advanta geous price. In addition, she invited Salah to come to France to exhibit her works. He accepted and went there the following year. But beforehand and to raise the money for the trip, he sold, according to the testimony of his student and nonetheless professor of visual arts Bouzidi, one of his precious paintings to a wealthy businessman from Khenchela for an amount of 10,000 dinars, a very high price at the time. So he left to be near the one with whom he would now share his dreams and feelings. Anne proposed marriage to him as soon as he arrived, and they got together a few weeks later.
She refuses to part with her husband’s remains The painter Salah Djebbar suffered a lot during his youthful life in Algeria. According to some of his friends, he has been the victim of marginalization and exclusion several times. And yet, they testify, he has always responded to the call, often helping to decorate, with his paintings and frescoes, the walls of many places and administrative areas in Khenchela, the capital of his wilaya. Indeed, since his birth on January 7, 1954 in Kais, Salah has not received the attention an artist of his talent deserves. But it must be recognized that the news of his death caused a considerable stir in all Aurès. His relatives, friends and all his admirers in the region were saddened by the loss of this artist, and they even expressed a wish that he be buried at his home in his hometown of Kais. But Anne, his wife, strongly objected. She refused to part with her husband’s body, and it was buried not far from the house where she lives. Anne wanted, by this act, to remain faithful to him in life as in death. It was she who loved him so much and supported him a lot in the times when no one cared. She opened doors for him to exercise his talents, helping him to organize numerous exhibitions all over Europe. She was so attached to him that she decided to buy her shrine near him, as if to say, «I will be by your side, Salah, even in the grave.»
From their affair, they had no children but they remained faithful to each other until death parted them one day in 2018.
Touching testimonials from friends The disappearance of Salah Djebbar aroused immense sadness and consternation among those who knew him, especially since his death took place far from his family in a foreign country. We were even saddened by the loss of this man, so much he was appreciated by all for his great humility and his love for his country. N. Boubir www.glamourfashionandbeauty.com

The painter Abdelhalim Kebieche Talks about the drama in Beirut « I was so affected that I externalized and carried my pain into my art »
© Photography by Abdelhalim Kebiech
On August 4, 2020, Beirut was rocked by a strong, devastating explosion in the city’s port, killing more than 170 and injuring hundreds. This catastrophe in the Lebanese capital upset the whole world. Despite the great means deployed by the security services to know the origin and the reasons behind this tragedy impacting the heart of the city, it must be said that we do not know, until now the causes of this powerful explosion which left many families in mourning and caused great damage to Beirut. Faced with the tragic news, international reactions by Several countries have indeed hastened to help Lebanon in this umpteenth tragedy which has moved the whole world. Algeria was not, of course, left out. This sister country was among the first nations to react quickly by sending an entire hospital field in addition, medical equipment as well as major goods of construction materials. This gesture of solidarity was so appreciated by a good number of Lebanese citizens including the great artist Elissa who expressed, moreover, through the media, all her gratitude for the reaction oh! how honorable and fraternal of the great Maghreb country. But beyond this campaign of solidarity, this disaster shocked all those who saw the images of the explosion. It was, so to speak, a real atomic bomb that aroused great emotion around the world, especially among artists. So, in this edition, we have decided to reserve the columns of the magazine for the artist painter Abdelhalim Kebieche to share with us his feelings about this tragic event which grieved the artistic capital of the Arab world, Beirut. Note that this artist, reacted quickly but in his own way, by producing a painting representing this catastrophe, as a sign of solidarity and compassion with the Lebanese people. 48 Glamour fashin & beauty
But who is Abdelhalim? He is an Algerian artist who studied at the Ecole Superieure des Beaux-Arts, after which he obtained a postgraduate degree in plastic arts. Today, he is among the most prolific artists on the Algerian art scene. Glamour Fashion and Beauty therefore went to meet him to talk to us more particularly about the reasons for the realization of this beautiful work of painting dedicated to Lebanon, and which bears the name «Fragments of Beirut».
GF&B : First of all, thank you very much for agreeing to grant us this interview. The first thing, how did you receive this sad news of Beirut disaster, and what was the impact on you as a human and as an artist?
Abdelhalim Kebieche : I also thank you for your interest in this brother country Lebanon. In fact, like everyone else, I saw this serious incident on social media and I was terribly shocked, the explosion was as strong as it was apocalyptic. I had to tell the truth, a lot of pain seeing corpses littered on the ground, especially since I personally have a rather special relationship with this country. I have a lot of friends there, given the various exhibitions I organize periodically in this country. Besides Beirut, the city of art and culture, is very dear to me, I go there quite often. The first thing I did was contacting all my Lebanese friends to inquire about their state of health. And thank goodness! Everyone is accounted for. Of course, they are still upset by the horror of the drama, which saddens me deeply. I followed daily, through the media, the developments of this tragedy, which generated in me a strong emotion and a great pain. Algerians have lived and endured these kind of tragic events, we know very well the impact and pain this kind of drama could cause.
I saw the images of the drama, I had a terrible urge to paint, colors, so I began to realize this work not without great anxiety and torment.
GF&B : Abdelhalim, you immediately started painting without thinking, following only your feelings aroused by the drama. You were carried away, if I am not mistaken, by this readiness to react quickly but with enthusiasm and perhaps with immense pain. Would you like to tell us more about this inspiration step and your personal rituals to experience and reproduce this creative moment.
Abdelhalim Kebieche : It is true that it was quite an exceptional and quite intense moment of creativity. I only felt pain, my interactions with the work were equally painful and dramatic. But not withstanding the tragic event
GF&B : Let’s talk about your instant reaction to this incident. Did you want to describe it to us and tell us how you felt about this sad news?
Abdelhalim Kebieche : Of course, as a visual artist I instantly had a «pictorial reaction» if the expression allows it, because it must be said that everyone has their own ways of doing things. express and react to the event, depending on the profession and activity he exercises. As a painter, I often use colors to express sadness and other feelings. That’s why from the moment www.glamourfashionandbeauty.com

it self, I often experience pain personally when it comes to creativity, no matter what painting I plan to paint. Other artists perhaps, feel pleasure or even ecstasy. Everyone lives in their own way, this moment which, moreover, is essential for the painter.
GF&B : Before telling us about the work and its content visibly charged with emotion and sadness, please tell us about the technique you used to express your feelings in this exceptional work.
Abdelhalim Kebieche : I am a fan of the expressionist style in visual art. I have even managed to win international prizes with paintings in this style. I think you can only be good at what you love. Regarding now this work «Fragments of Beirut», I therefore did not deviate from the rule I imposed on myself and I used the same style, hence these brushstrokes, these lines and these colors ... etc. Technically, I used a painting measuring one and a half meters by two as well as the same drawing tools: oil paints, and some materials ...
GF&B : Indeed, that’s what we noticed. But on your painting, we noted that you were lying in front of the painting. Is it an idea to represent itself in this artistic work, being one of the constitutive elements of this work?
Abdelhalim Kebieche : When I carried my last touch-ups to the painting, it seemed to me that there was a gap to be filled in order for the work to be completed. So I decided to introduce a body - mine - as part of the work done. So I appear in the final image as a bloodied body, around which drawing tools are scattered here and there, as if the shards of the explosion have hit me too. The use, as a visual artist, of my body is a way for me to express a feeling and to share this tragedy with our brothers in Beirut. And this is perhaps the reason behind the success of the work and the positive impressions it has aroused among audiences both in the Arab world and in other countries around the world. 50 Glamour fashin & beauty
GF&B : You appear to be one of the victims of the Beirut explosion, and you see yourself, it seems, to be directly concerned. At least, is that what your painting «Fragments of Beirut» suggests?
Abdelhalim Kebieche : What I wanted to say, through the conception of this work, is a message of solidarity that I want to send to the Lebanese. I would like to express to them all my compassion and all my love. The bursts of this explosion hit me just as much, even though I am far away from the scene of the drama. Admittedly, the power of the explosion struck and shocked us all. Personally, I was so affected that I exteriorized and carried my pain into an artistic work. But, it should be said, when I react in this way, it is because I do it as an Algerian because I also want to tell the Lebanese that all the Algerian people feel and share their pain.
GF&B : We’re coming to the end of the interview. We congratulate you once again on your commendable initiative and thank you for enlightening us on this beautiful work of art «Fragments of Beirut» dedicated to the Lebanese people. But before leaving the last word to you, we must point out, to the readers of Glamour Fashion and Beauty, that you recently won the gold medal in the competition dedicated to the different trends in plastic art, as well as the medal of money for contemporary expressive art. It should be noted that this global competition for art professionals was organized by the International Academy of Arts of France during the year 2019, and had a large participation of painters from around the world.
Abdelhalim Kebieche : It is I who thank you for your interest in my work and especially for bringing to light this work «Fragments of Beirut» which deals with the tragedy of a brother country Lebanon. I wish you and Glamour Fashion and Beauty every success in all of your efforts to promote art, culture and the world of aesthetics in general. Mohcene Adel

In this Arizonian site, everything is disproportionate and spectacular: the heights, the widths and even the colors since its cliffs display a palette of brilliant colors (white, beige, orange, red, etc.) clashing with the green of the vegetation to give a beautiful mosaic that no painter in the world can reproduce with his brush. Formerly, the Native Americans gave it the name of “Kayo Avoy”, which means “lying mountain.” According to historians, it was precisely the Indian Païutes who chose this name. likely to have been Spanish invaders who came in search of riches and cities of Orvers 1540. They ended up discovering the site. These first Blancy researchers stayed for three days. They may well, inspect the place to find a path that would lead them to the river which is in the middle of the depths of the groove, but in vain. Impossible to access the said river which contains, passages leading to secret cavities.
It must be said that the magic of its natural decorations, the height of its cliffs, its rocky terraces with strange and impressive shapes are all the attractions that make this site a leading tourist destination. Visitors on site will never tire of admiring a variety of picturesque views. F. R

Qabr al-Rûmiyya : Story of an undying love
The «Royal Numidian Mausoleum», located 70 km west of Algiers in an archaeological area under the commune of Sidi Rached in the wilaya of Tipaza, has been classified since 2002 as a National Monument and World Heritage by UNESCO. This tomb also known under the Arabic name «Qabr al-Rûmiyya» (tomb of the Roman woman) or by the «Royal mausoleum of Mauritania», was built in circular shape at the top of a hill, at 261 m above the level of the sea.

ccording to historians, it was Juba II (52 BC, 23 AD) the Numidian king who had the idea of erecting this funerary monument in this area formerly called «Caesarean Mauritania». But behind his idea hides, in fact, a whole fascinating and incredible story of a man who wanted, by the construction of this tomb, to immortalize the woman whom he loved so much and whose separation he visibly could not bear.
in the region would be called into question. The motto of the Romans was known at the time: «Divide and rule» and they applied it to all their colonies, especially in North Africa to keep the formidable Numidians under their domination.
The story goes back to the time of his descendant Juba I. The latter, presumably wanting to fulfill his grandfather’s dream Jugurtha, attempted, by military action, to unify all the Numidian dynasties under one banner. But its ambitious work unfortunately came up against the dictate of the powerful and hegemonic Rome, which above all did not want this unification, for fear that its supremacy
His son and successor Juba II, who was no more than five years old at the time, was taken by the Roman general to be brought up into golden captivity in Rome. The Numidian child grew in the palace of Julius Caesar according to the precepts and a purely Roman education. After his death, he was taken in charge by the successor to the throne, Augustus in this case, who taught him

in the same imperial palace in Rome. Her closeness to Juba II has transformed over time into a beautiful love story which was crowned by her marriage to the exiled Numidian king. Over the years, Juba II grew into a strong and insightful man thanks to the knowledge he ac-
quired. The Roman education he received and his loyalty to Rome encouraged Caesar Octavius to appoint him governor of Mauritania Caesarean of which Caesarea (present-day Cherchell) was the capital. He reigned for fifty years. But Selene, his beloved wife, did not live long enough to see this
promotion and her husband’s royal triumph. She died very young, which plunged Juba II into a long and deep sadness. As not to forget his beloved wife, the inconsolable Numidian king then decided to build an edifice in her memory in the region of Tipaza. «Qabr al-Rûmiyya» would therefore be the tomb of this princess of Egyptian origins. It was built by Juba II with great skill and in

such a way that it could survive the vicissitudes of time. This is how much this Numidian king was affected by the loss of his partner Selene, in the prime of her life. The Mausoleum is therefore dedicated to the young missing princess. It was erected in the form of a stone about 60.9 meters in diameter and 32.4 m in height. It has a cylindrical part decorated on its perimeter with 60 columns surmounted by Ionic capitals and supporting a cornice.
In front of the tomb, one can notice the remains of a construction 16 meters long and 6 meters wide. It is believed to be a temple adjoining the Egyptian princess building. The mausoleum also has four false doors located at cardinal points. These are 6.9 m high stone panels, framed on a jamb and shared in the center by moldings arranged in a cross. Perhaps this explains the other traditional name «Tomb of the Christian» that is often given to this building.
Glamour fashin & beauty 772
Some archaeologists also believe it to be a Christian building. Hence the Arabic name Qabr al-Rûmiyya which is taken from the Arabic word «Rumi» meaning certainly «Byzantine» or «Roman» but also being confused, in the Arab-Muslim tradition, with the word «Christian». Still, the majority of archaeological researchers affirm that this Berber mausoleum has no connection with Christian civilization. From the inside, when accessed through the main door, visitors find themselves in a very low access corridor that opens onto the Lions’ Vestibule. It is so called because we see a lion and a lioness sculpted in relief above the access to the interior corridor. From this vestibule, one reaches by climbing seven steps to a circular gallery of 80 m2 located in the heart of the monument.

In 1865, the French paleontologist and archaeologist Adrien Berbruggere carried out, at the request of Napoleon III, excavations at the end of which he discovered a narrow lower door located under the back door on the east side. This other exit could probably serve as a secret passage leading to the sanctuary. M. A

Ghazaouet or the story of the «Ad Fratres» in stone
O
ne evening, the director of «Glamour Fashion and Beauty» called me to show me a beautiful photo that she just discovered and where we could see two towering rocks emerging from the waves. She seemed amazed by this fascinating landscape, presumably not far from an Algerian coast, she wanted to know more. So, she asked me to write an article about this wonderful site with a view to be published in the columns of our magazine. The photo in question was taken, in fact in Ghazaouet, a seaside town located on the Algerian west coast. To tell the truth, I was very apprehensive, at the start, of the task she gave me, especially since I have never seen these two mysterious rocks before, nor set foot in this city located to the north. -is off the wilaya of Tlemcen. Still, the beauty of the landscape and the spectacle offered by these two large rocks facing the sea did not surprise me too much. I knew that our great country with the dimensions of a continent is full of fabulous sites and some most attractive tourist spots. Indeed, Algeria with its area of more than two million km2 and a coastline of one thousand two hundred kilometers, has exceptional tourist attractions: a sunny climate, contrasting and bewitching landscapes, places as original as they are fabulous with various histories. It is one of the few countries in the world that boasts a trilogy of landscapes: sea, mountain and desert. On its coast alone, there are immense sandy beaches and a multitude of steep coves with, in addition, a sea warmer than in the countries of the northern Mediterranean shore, suitable for swimming and water sports. As for the beautiful landscape that aroused the interest of the director, it is indeed a site located in Ghazaouet, a city located on the Algerian west coast, 75 km from the capital of the wilaya of Tlemcen . When we got there, we were struck by the topographical location of the region where this port city is located. Its geographical nature is directly confused 68 Glamour fashin & beauty
with that of the neighboring Trara mountain range. The city is surrounded by Oued (river) Sifter on one side and the Qumqum and Al Sarru mountains on the other side. The emergence of Ghazaouet as an important center on the Algerian west coast began, it seems, with French colonization since it was previously a small, almost uninhabited cove. In 1844, the French occupiers therefore built a port there to serve as a strategic passage between the west-south coast of Marseille and the new African colony. «Ad Fratres» But according to historians, the city existed long before this period. It was, if we believe their writings, at all times an important center of navigation, given that it enjoys a strategic location on the Algerian west coast. Its influence on the Mediterranean therefore goes back much further in the history of the region. It was the Romans who gave it the Latin name «Ad Fratres» known today and which means (the two brothers) in reference to the two rocks located not far from the shore, which seem there like two watchmen , for millennia, on the port city. The two rock brothers are located precisely 300 meters offshore from the city, with an area of about 0.05 hectares and a height of 25 meters. Today, these two small islands are surmounted by a
magnificent lighthouse, accessible by stairs carved out of the rock. The rather strange existence of these two imposing blocks of stone arouses enchantment but also curiosity in those who discover the site for the first time. A curiosity which, it seems, has ended up building over the centuries many stories and legends around these “Ad Fratres”. The best known among these quite fabulous stories, moreover, is this myth inherited from the Roman period which explains the appearance of these small rocky islands off Ghazaouet. It is said that in the past, there were two brothers who grazed their flock of sheep on the top of a mountain which surrounded the region of Ghazaouet. Suddenly, a large snake appeared out of nowhere that wanted to attack them. To defend themselves, the two brothers reacted and tried to kill him. But before reaching their goal, the reptile suddenly transformed into an old and evil woman with supernatural powers who turned them into stone statues. Ever since and each time the two brothers began to mourn their fate, the sea raged, shaking, causing a tsunami. Today, the two brothers are still standing there facing the port. But failing to watch the sheep, they now watch over the entire city of Ghazaouet. Mohcen Adel

The Valley of the Saints From a crazy idea to a most attractive tourist site
3
Glamour fashin & beauty

Glamour fashin & beauty 2
The «Valley of the Saints» is first of all an idea with religious, artistic and cultural dimensions which matured for a long time before today becoming an association, then a site visited by thousands of tourists. The initiator of this association is none other than Philippe Abjean. A professor of philosophy, fervent Catholic and admirer of simple art, thus succeeded in transforming this idea which was so dear to his heart into a cultural and tourist site known today throughout France, and even the whole world. According to this activist, the idea began to germinate since we celebrated the 1500th anniversary of Saint-Pol-de-Léon in 1990, so he decided to propose it, shortly after, to a bank employee, Sébastien Minguy and to the Breton lawyer. Philippe Hajas.
According to historians, there were about fifty monks who left Ireland, Wales and England to settle in this French region and spread the word of God. Every year, their memory is honored by new creations. (statues) made by different sculptors. It should be noted that at the start of the project, several municipalities offered to host this historic site but, after much consideration, the choice was made on Carnoët. This decision was announced on September 18, 2009 by Philippe Abjean who felt that this locality was the
The latter immediately subscribed to the idea and began, with Philippe Abjean, to the implementation of the project, that is to say to meet all the conditions to launch this association that they called “Association of the Valley of the Saints ”. The project thus saw the light of day in July 2008. Among other objectives, it set itself the sculpture and the installation of a large number of statues in memory of famous Saints who once came to Brittany to preach the Christian religion. 72

ideal place to host the site because, in addition to the austerity and the simplicity of its places, Carnoët is located in the center of the Breton region. In addition, the «Vallée des Saints» association could, with this choice, operate the Quénéquillecmitoyenne farm on the site, under a rental deed for a period of 49
years signed jointly with the municipal officials of the locality. The farm spreads over 35 hectares of land located on a site steeped in history. It is the perfect place for the establishment of this «Valley of the Saints» especially as the places are of great Catholic symbolism telling of founding myths and legends on the exploits of these
74

historical figures. It is also the cradle of huge and magnificent sculptures lined up near a chapel dating from the 16th century. Construction work began in July 2009 with the installation of large granite statues 3 to 4 meters high bearing the effigy of the seven founding saints of Brittany: Pol Aurélien, Tugdual de Tréguier, Brieuc, Samson de Dol , Malo, Patern de Vannes and Corentin de Quimper. This first erection offers a magnificent panoramic view of the hill of Poher. The project begins to take shape and attracts more and more tourists who flock from all sides to admire this fabulous site. The association did not stop there. It launched other work, especially after the site was inaugurated on May 19, 2012. Thus 50 sculptures were created in 2014, 57 statues in 2015, 80 in 2016 and 90 others in August 2017. As for the statue of Saint Piran, brought directly by boat from English Cornwall, it was put in place in July 2018. But all these statues are not the only ones to amaze the visitor, since they can also admire on the spot this beautiful fountain whose waters would have, it is believed, a power to cure animals. The landscape that it is offered, could not be better splendid especially as its water flows under a chapel and crosses the site in the middle of the saints stone.
There is also a majestic hill formed by considerable earthworks and ditches, overlooking the entire valley. This shows that this place was once a strategic point of observation and defense. Especially from these heights, the view embraces a vast horizon where Monts d’Arrée rise and where the beautiful forest of Fréau extends. All these natural attractions have also contributed to making the site a destination for many vacationers and tourists. More than 40,000 people visited «the Valley of the Saints» in the first year of its inauguration. The number then rose to 100,000 in 2014, 230,000 in 2016 and 336,900 visitors in 2017. This is to say the success of the project which, in addition to the historical and artistic aspect, has helped restore economic activity to central Brittany. M. Adel

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was petite, very humble, smarter than her piers, she excelled in high school, she was leading at Cornell, top of her class at Harvard and Columbia law schools, she did it while she was taking care of her family, raising children and taking care of a her then sick husband, unfortunately she had all doors closed in front her to practice as a lawyer because she was a woman.
She will always be remembered as one of a kind, selfless, devoted to justice and all about gender equality. Flo Medjdoub
