I joined SL in May of 2008 out of curiousity more than anything... a friend had mentioned Second Life® and the creative outlet it could provide intrigued me. I signed in and ventured around, and actually here I am, years later! I got into content creation for SL residents because I was actually creating my own pieces to wear. In time many of my friends asked to buy my creations, I would simply laugh, and give things away! Next thing I knew, I was building a store... setting up... and well that started this amazing journey being MOOD. My fashion personality? Hmm... casual, with an edgy flair - I love mixing textures and styles, creating truly unique looks and showing who I am. I like glitz and glamour of dressing up, to the casual, but sophisticated elegance and overall beauty of creations - a Fashionista at heart (the size of my inventory vouches Fashionista status) It’s an honor to help Relay For Life® here in Second Life®. Our efforts at this year’s Relay may, indeed, make possible the research, the learning, the wisdom, and the understanding that will save not just one, but hundreds and thousands of those afflicted in the years ahead. For all of the lives given, loved ones, it will not be in vain. This is why I Relay!

10

I think MOOD would bring by it’s participation in RFL of SL and Accessory Fair 2011, the overall sense of giving - offering, and sharing in the healing, comfort and support from others who have faced cancer or who have lost a loved one to the disease

I joined on 10/11/2007 at the request and recommendation of a friend. Because I am adventurous and curious, I like to explore all of the possibilities associated with my activities and in SL, content creation is one of those. I had previous graphics creation experience so it was only natural that I try my hand at applying that skill to content creation.

12

I am a fashion rebel, not to be different but because I am different – or rather, I have my unique style and I defend it. My creativity drives me and I do not stray from it. I am a severe critic of myself because I want to improve my skills each and every day. I don’t like acronyms, business acronyms, but because I think that in order to be really creative you have to focus on that. For that I appear, in a world

of business terms… as a fashion rebel. I am a technicist, i think that technique is fundamental to express the feelings and trigger emotions from the public. I try to use all of my acquired knowledge as well as continue to learn new things to better express my concept and vision. Gems & Kisses has always devoted itself to charitable events such as the Accessory Fair, which supports Relay For Life® of SL. It is important to give back to the community and try to make a difference. What does the future hold for Gems & Kisses? Well, we had such a successful second anniversary event thanks to our faithful and devoted customers that we are now going to spend the next few months creating the ‘‘Gems & Kisses third generation’’. We have learned and are continuing to learn new techniques and skills and with them we are planning to create some new and completely innovative items for our customers. We have recently expanded G&K to include makeup and poses, and we have mentored some new designers. But we want to go even further and we have been cultivating some ideas and designs that we have had for some time. It is requiring some real innovation on our part to realize these new concepts but we have the confidence that they will be inspiring and well received by the community. G&K will continue to be a trend setter and we look forward to seeing our ideas take hold and create a new tempest of design among the fashion community.

I joined SL in July 2008 researching 3D programs for my real life studies as jewelry designer. I got into content creation because I just started building for fun and found I enjoyed it. I decided to open a store with more intentions toward the roleplay aspect of design and it also became, for me, an experiment into the business side of SL. I would describe my fashion personality as very neat, constructed with a twist of madness. In one word: surprising! When it comes to an event such as the Accessory Fair, which supports Relay For LifeŽ of SL, I think it’s my obligation to join in and actively contribute to cancer research, rather than to close my eyes to something so important. I believe that through my endeavors I can make even tiny changes in the world, I can join others and that a significant change can be achieved both in effect and also inspiration for others to participate. This is the kind of initiative that makes humanity better as a whole. The result of 1+1? Let me think... 5! *winks*

I joined SL in 2006. I found this great escape from real life stresses into this fantasy world of whatever I wanted! How could I resist it? Ever since I created my jewelry buisness, I have been helping to create beautiful avatars from all around the world. It’s so much fun! I got into content creation for SL residents by curiosity mostly. I was wondering... “how on earth does creating a simple BOX turn into THAT!” Oh my god, haha! I just had to find out and I’m still learning. It’s amazing what we can create here… just amazing. I’m so diverse when it comes to fashion! I like a little of everything. This is SL after all. You can be whoever you want, whenever you want! Personally, I tend to favor formal fashion trends such as ballroom and fancy dress. I think it’s because I hardly wear such clothes in my real life. For me, dressing up in SL in a ball gown has a dream-like quality, a fairy tale style and I can feel myself instepping into the shoes of a princess... like Cinderella! Members of my family and many friends have been deeply affected by cancer. Participating in the Accessory Fair which supports Relay For Life® of SL is a small way for me to donate what I can to the cause; I have the opportunity to contribute to cancer research in SL so I do it without an hesitation. It’s as simple as that.

I joined SL in 2007 – I’m a gamer and was curious. I got into content creation for SL residents just by playing around. I also wanted to have a store on this sim I liked... I am very much into fashion, but mostly into individual style, always. My mother has been fighting heavy breast tumors granuloma for years and I want to support anything related to breast tumors/cancer organization/event. That’s why it matters for me to participate in the Accessory Fair: it is an event that supports Relay For Life® of SL and cancer research. It is something that is personal for me. If I have pets? Yes, I have Njonjo the bunny and Tina the cat, the darlings of my life!

I joined SL in 2007, by curiosity. How I got into content creation for SL residents? Curiosity brought me there. I am always on the look for something new. When it comes to my fashion personality, I could be described as a curious mind. Accessory Fair is an event which supports Relay For Life速 of SL. It does matter for me to participate because I love the idea that the sales of my products can support a good cause. The best things about Second Life速 are definitely friends and creativity!

It matters for me to participate in an event such as the Accessory Fair, supporting Relay For LifeŽ of SL, because I think that it is great if my products can support and benefit the cause. It’s important to be active and to partcipate in charity events happening around SL. That’s why it matters to me to be part of the Accessory Fair, an event supporting Relay For Life® of SL. I joined SL in May 2007. I ran across an article about SL and wanted to check it out… I never left! I love to create and be productive. SL is a wonderful outlet for that. When it comes to my fashion personality, I would say that it depends on my mood. I tend to lean towards grundge and Neko. I have seen first hand the devastation cancer has on a family. I have watched so many families lose their children to this horrible thing and I personally have had cancer. June 6th, 2011 is my 5 year cancer free mark… a date too many never get to see. My desire is that one day everyone that ever has to hear those words, does not think it is a death sentence. This is why it matters to me to participate in an event such as the Accessory Fair which supports cancer research through Relay For Life® of SL. Who is my favorite SL designer other than myself? Mariska (Simons), the master mind behind Blacklace.

I joined SL in 2008, I heard a lot about it and wanted to try it, as a game at first. As I always say, I spent a lot, too much in accessories and jewels, so I opened my very little store at the end of 2008. How would you describe your fashion personality? Fashion is a big part of my life, both in real life and in SL. I live in Italy and its art, fashion and beauty cannot do anything but inspire me day after day. I love colors and hard and eccentric forms, as much as I love flowers and the delicacy of nature. I try to express these aspects in my two lines of accessories. It’s very important to contribute to Relay For Life® of SL cause and help as much as we can to help people live better. This is why it matters for me to participate in an event such as the Accessory Fair, which supports cancer research. In my opinion, it is always good to think that supporting research is something we do mostly for ourselves, as it will impact our future and our kids. My future plans in SL? I’m improving my skills in order to grow my brand and offer a more various and quality choice of items (like shoes, hairs and male stuff.)

I joined SL in August of 2006. A real life friend who is a charter SL member from 2003 had been encouraging me to check it out since she knew I would enjoy the creative aspect, but it wasn’t until 2006 that I had a computer capable of running SL. After one day I was addicted! I am an artist by avocation, I studied graphic design and photography in college. I always wanted to design clothes as well. But I began building furniture while I learned about the fashion design tools from my friend who had a small clothing business. I would describe my fashion personality as romantic, classic, elegant yet sassy. I’m pretty ecelectic and like to mix things up too. I was a Registered Nurse in real life so health care is important to me and cancer has touched the lives of some of my friends and family. I believe in supporting RFL of SL fundraising efforts through events such as the Accessory Fair and I have been participating in RFL events in SL for 2 years now. I am proud to be part of such a worthy cause! What inspires me and keeps me creating in SL? Everything inspires me: fashion magazines, music, poetry, colors, emotions and bringing happiness to people with my designs keeps me producing more… almost 1000 creations have been released since my store opened 3 years ago!

When I joined, I discovered that my partner was very big into creating and it intrigued me so I gave it a shot and found out I loved creating. I’m not sure how I would describe my fashion personality. Probably ‘‘all over the place’’! I find myself dipping mostly into goth and alternative styles but I appreciate anything that is eclectic. It matters for me to participate in an event such as the Accessory Fair, supporting Relay For Life® of SL because it’s my belief that even one person can make a difference no matter how small it is! I joined in 2006 out of curiosity. I was a gamer who was reluctant to sign up for any subscription based MMO’s, so the idea of a free virtual world caught my attention. My father was the one who let me know about it after reading about it in Wired, he first told me about it as “some game where you have to buy your own genitals”.

36

I didn’t think of myself as much of a builder, but I used to hang out in the sandbox at the Isle of Wyrms and saw other people slinging prims around. I was having fun tal-

king to them and wanted to join in, and so I started trying to make a rose. It turned out far better than I ever expected, it really wasn’t bad for a bunch of path cut hollow cylinders. I turned them into a wreath for my head and earned my first bits of pocket change by selling them to people who complimented me on it. I believe that you never need an occassion to wear something fabulous. I feel like if you like it, wear it. The wonderful thing about SL clothes is that they don’t have practical considerations; there’s nothing to stop you from wearing antlers with a ball gown. If you don’t experiment you’ll never find the perfect way to express yourself. What inspires me? Nature most especially, and other creative people. Very often I find myself admiring the creativity of someone who has a marvelous concept, but when I see the way they manifested it I think of a multitude of ways to change, refine, improve or translate that concept into something new. Or if I’m working in the company of a creative friend, they might give me a suggestion for a path to take my work and send me down it in a flurry of inspiration. I love taking things from the natural world and juxtaposing them with things that are mundane or fantastic. I think that’s obvious as soon as you see someone wearing my antlers or strutting about with the head of a crow.

Now I make everything – clothes, jewelry, poses, and more. How would I describe my fashion personality? Eclectic and youthful, with a vintage flair. I think it is beautiful and clever to host events like the Accessory Fair that support Relay For Life® in SL – they are very popular and it is a win-win situation. Shoppers get amazing reputable items and Relay For Life® gets donations. To come for my brand “croire”, a new awesome main store build, clothes, sculpted decor, and more!

We quickly opened a shop offering our virtual dogs, it’s small shop run by twosome. After that we started to create jewelry for our personal use only. But it ended up looking so cute and it received so many praises that we kept making more jewelries as our major products. Uta Karas and Ruriko Jewell: We offer jewelries that are realistic and a perfect fit for everyday clothes. Our jewelries have no bling scripts, instead they sparkle naturally in the sunlight. These are the features of our jewelry collections and our style. Uta Karas and Ruriko Jewell: It matters a lot to us to join an event such as the Accessory Fair, which supports Relay For Life® of SL. Indeed, we believe that the generosity of the persons behind the charity event and the charity organization is impressive. We do like the idea that one can join it and help to raise awareness around cancer research or to raise funds for the cause independently of his abilities and means.

I joined SL on 12/14/2009. A friend brought me into SL. He thought I would love it… he was right! The way I got into content creation for SL residents has to do with the statement above. I am a designer in real life and found that in SL I can live my creativity even better than in my real life job. In SL, I can actually do whatever comes to my mind. I produce and wear sexy and stylish fashion mostly. Some of my other items are cool and stylish. Why it matters for me to participate in the Accessory Fair, an event supporting Relay For Life® of SL? Well, really, I love to help as much as I can. Of course, I also want to be seen at the Acessory Fair 2011 event! If you wonder why I do create fashion mostly for women and not for men, it is really easy to answer: I dont know much about men’s fashion, but a lot about women’s fashion!

I joined SL in 2007, following the counsel of my real life business partner Laufey Markstein. His overwhelming enthusiasm for this virtual world dragged me in completely. I always loved the raw beauty of tribal and ancient jewels in real life and founding difficult to find this kind of objects in SL I thought “why can’t I create them myself?” and here we are: T R I D E N T Jewelry was born. My fashion personality? Disturbed, unconventional, labyrinthine… basically pure chaos! My work on SL has one aim: bring in this virtual world small parts of our history by recreating ancient and ethnic jewelry or new designs that take inspiration from historical pieces. I found that a single, simple jewel can speak of the culture of an entire people, depending on the metal that is used, the gemstones or semiprecious stones used in its crafting, the decors, etc. It’s impressive to discover how complex is the symbolism hidden behind a bracelet or an archaic charm, beyond their mere aesthetic beauty!

When I joined SL and why? A friend told me about it and curiosity made me create this account I guess. This same friend already had a store and encouraged me to try to do something fun. It took some time to begin as I thought i wasnt able to but I liked it so I never stopped since then! In SL what I appreciate the most is the ability to look different and sometimes even a bit strange and odd. Eventually, some avatars’ appearances catch certain aspects of the personality of the human behind the screen without the prejudices that could occur in real life. Besides this freedom, I don’t consider myself as someone who follows all fashion trends, I do what I like and I like mixing styles! In my opinion, accessories are just as important as the clothes one wears. Indeed, I do think that sometimes a look can only be achieved thanks to the added style value that accessories allow. I always get a lot of fun creating accessories lines, as well!

I joined SL in January 2007. I had heard about a virtual gallery and was curious – then I ran into a Brazilian plastic surgeon in the welcome area and chatted all night. Shortly later I stumbled on stilettos into a post-apocalyptic sim, the Wastelands, and met the first green dutch mutant of my life – the rest is history. I just realized – I never found the gallery that brought me to SL. But I found a lot of dear friends from all over the world, and that’s what keeps me here. Some of the most talented and most helpful designers live in the Wastelands (editor’s note: location based in SL). For some months I was intimidated by their skills, then I finally dared to link some self-made bottle caps together and created my first necklace. I am not sure if I have something like a fashion personality. To create things, I just throw together what I like – just like in real life. My inspiration often comes from vintage, antique stuff. I like to combine old and new to create something unique. Everyone who lost loved ones to cancer knows how important awareness is, for relatives, friends and survivors. This is why it matters to me to participate in an event such as the Accessory Fair, which supports Relay For Life® of SL.

Sommes (editor’s note: Sommes Discovolante, an SL Resident) brought me to Second Life® way way back in 2006. She told me about this interesting game where people can do so much. She was right…! My initial role in Second Life® was just to hang out and tell everyone all my great jokes! Discuss football… you know, all the meaningful reasons for our lives! I actually did go to one jewelry class… but… well… I think it was football season, so I ended up watching the game! I began with my freebie land where I put out a small 10×10 table and began selling my pieces. People just started coming and they told their friends, who told their friends, etc. I didn’t really advertise or plot out anything (I’m a little lazy, haha) but people came in, gave me their feedback and I kept growing. Now my store is 3 floors high and I actually broke

down and bought a little bit more land. It has been fun, as it should be… only fun! I would describe my store as the Best of SL’s Fine Jewelry! My time here in SL is to have fun, meet people, get inspiration from it all and express art in a form for women to wear. My designs are from a male’s perspective; men know what looks stunning and sexy on women. I had someone who was like my mom who died from brain cancer in real life. It was a tough go. It’s very hard to say goodbye and let someone you love dearly go after you saw them filled with so much pain. It was something I wish I could just fix and make it go away… Since I couldn’t, I support charities in real life for this reason. And I am honored to take part in RFL fundraising efforts through the Accessory Fair 2011. When I began in SL, quite a while ago, we were allowed to gamble and camping (editor’s note: one could make a small sum of virtual money “camping” on chairs during the early years of Second Life®) around SL paid a lot more than it does now… but… you see… well…. I talk a lot! Since I was not making a great living camping and was spending all my linden dollars earned from camping on virtual gambling, Sommes (Discovolante) told me to go out there and get a job! Like in real life! Actually, Sommes was a great inspiration to me to get started with jewelry. I began very small: earrings, necklaces, bracelets and humm… wait a second, that is exactly what I do now…!

I joined SL in 2007, because someone I knew back then said I would probably enjoy the creative aspect of it, and this person was right. As someone who loves vintage things, particularly of the Victorian era, I knew that if I was going to go around SL as a Victorian lady, a hat was essential. However, I couldn’t find one that I was willing to spend my lindens on, so I began to create my own hats. I would say that my fashion personality is eclectic, vintage and elegant. My father died from cancer this past year, in June 2010. It’s too late for him, but maybe one day we will find a cure for cancer. At some point I created a new shape for myself and decided to sell it. After the initial idea of a shape store, I decided to go for handbags and accessories. I would describe my fashion personality as Innovative, driven by fun and the desire to make things that are sometimes off the beaten track. I lost a couple of RL and SL friends to cancer over the past 2 years. Even though the contribution may be small, it means a lot for me to be able to be part of an event such as the Accessory Fair, which supports Relay For Life速 of SL. I was introduced to SL by a friend and entered this virtual world in January 2007. I learned glasses production technology in Kirin Glasses Classroom of Japan. I made use of the technique of micro prims, and made detailed glasses. I am a Japanese creator in SL. “Air” glasses are micro prims-based products. These glasses are meticulously crafted, and are produced to exude beauty and elegance. I personally think of my creations as “Jewelry Glasses.” I am very interested in events that benefit charities, such as the Accessory Fair which supports Relay For Life® of Second Life®. I want to participate in such events as much as possible. I recently participated in the three charity events benefiting non-profit organizations. Who am I? I am a fox. From intimate apparel to couture, quality at fair pricing is our highest priority. In life, there are times when it’s especially important to remember the world doesn’t revolve around you. Relay for Life® is a worthwhile investment of my time and helps me to give back in a big way. I joined SL in 2006, because a friend brainwashed me with it and having a hectic social life, I was intrigued by the aspect of virtual worlds having the ability for social interaction. I am using fans a lot in real life, I work in the nightlife and fashion industries and I needed some fans in SL. As I was going around the grid with my own fans, some people started to ask me where I bought them and that I should start a shop. That’s how Digital Eyes was born. Later I started to make hair that looked like the stage wigs I used in real life when I was a dancer. In both worlds I’m a chameleon. I adapt to all sorts of situations from street style to high fashion. I am part of RFL for 4 years. In 2008 and 2009 I was a Team Captain, in 2010 I was a Team Mentor and I am now in 2011 the Chair of International RFL. I come from a family which is impacted by cancer and many real life friends are fighting cancer at the moment. For me each little move like donating item for Accessory Fair is important. My mother-in-law died of breast cancer, and both my paternal and maternal grandmothers died of cancer so that’s why it matters for me to participate in an event such as the Accessory Fair, which supports cancer research. I’m currently working on wrapping up the {AHC} 2011/2012 collection, which I will start releasing designs from for this summer.

I joined SL on 3/28/2010. A friend introduced me to SL and I also heard that it was fun. I like visiting clubs to listen to the music, and I wanted to bring in a fresh, peppy edge to clubwear. Thats what got me into creating contentn for SL Residents. Fashion is what you make it. It’s what makes you feel alive and confident.

I first heard about SL in November 2009 and joined out of curiosity to discover this amazing virtual 3D world. After being inactive for several months, I finally started to explore SL during the fall of 2010 and went around shopping with the simple goal of making my avatar look good. I ended up shopping for months and was blown away by what I saw – all the beautiful designs, unbridled creativity and unlimited choices. Then early this year I started building and had a lot of fun designing some jewelry. I opened my first store in March 2011 and I am still learning something new every day. I am humbled and grateful by all the support and encouragement I received throughout the last few months. My fashion style varies between classic, trendy and sporty. As a new designer this is the first time I got an opportunity to design something for the worthy cause that is Relay For Life® of Second Life® and it means a lot to me. I am really excited to be part of the Accessory Fair this year!

I joined SL in the early summer of 2007 because two of my girlfriends told me we could do more with our internet experience than solicit nude pictures from strangers in chat rooms. The idea of being able to give birth to virtual babies was irresistible but that got boring very quickly and instead I learned how to use SL as a creative outlet. After the birth of my third prim baby, “JessieJames the Third”, my friend Apatia and I decided we wanted to open a SL store and create our own virtual clothing to wear. Then we did. Then some other people liked it and we opened our own shop. I would describe my fashion personality as adventurous, whimsical, misanthropic, bold and risqué. It matters for me to participate in the Accessory Fair which is an event supporting Relay For Life® of SL because Cancer is the enemy. Behind every virtual product I produce, my major motivation is to encourage every person who’d wear an item I created to discover their inner pretty princess. We are all precious creatures of the universe and should take time to reflect upon our value in this world, even if it’s just for a moment to say “Hey, inner me… you look virtually breathtaking in that prim headpiece, I’m so in love with the inner me right now!”

I joined this virtual world in 2006. It was with my first avatar with which I started to design clothes because I liked the idea of creating clothes. Later, I created a new account as I didn’t like the name of my first avatar anymore. I knew how to create virtual content even before joining Second Life®, so I just came and started to design. I am improving my creations and my skills every day. I really got into vintage and army style, not traditional army military style but army style for common street and urban wear. I try to inspire myself from real life trends and to make of these styles a reality in SL. I am a proud supporter of charity events that do help people in real life and every month I donate an amount of money to such charity organizations – this is why I am always happy and enjoy participating in any event that has a deep meaning and reaches out to real life persons. There are many people who need a support and Relay For Life® is one of the most trustworthy charity organizations for such purpose. Many people seem to think that I am a Native American but in reality, I live in Central Euope, Czech Republic, to be more specific. I am currently located in the capital city, with its beautiful culture and rich history, which is called Pragua.

I joined SL 18 months ago after hearing about it from a friend on Facebook. I was looking for something different to do. I started making shoes because I couldn’t buy those I wanted, it then evolved into creating accessories. I try to convey elegance and refinement in my shoes. I have had cancer myself and love the idea that my creations can benefit cancer research, this is why I joined the Accessory Fair, which supports it.

I came into Second Life® in June 2008 after meeting a guy who worked here. After getting along with SL and a first “frenetic shopping” phase I started to create dresses almost immediately. Some friends I met here explained me a lot of things, so I started to create clothes. I’m a real life architect, but I also worked in the field of graphic design, 3D modeling and web design. My hobby is to make jewelry with beads and crystals. All of this influenced what I do in SL. My work is inspired by famous women from the past to present times. I want to evocate what attracts the desire of women: the great divas of cinema, historic characters, literary characters, the clothes our mothers and grandmothers used to wear…The clothes we’d wear everyday and the ones we dreamed of leafing a fashion magazing or staring at a shop window. As a participant to an event supporting Relay For Life® of SL, I feel like a musician that can finally enjoy the company of other musicians and play together in a big orchestra. From my second life to my real life, I would take the Squinternet waistline!

Heather Connolly and Lawra Fredrickson: We joined SL in 2006 and in 2007. We both agree, it feels like forever. Both of us were drawn in by other people. Heather Connolly: Personally, I enjoy the creative outlet SL provides, as well as good friends! Heather Connolly: It’s been so long that we got into content creation for SL Residents! We both started out on our own, but Lawra had her store before I really started. We met through a close mutual friend who has since left SL, and the rest is history! We compliment eachothers strengths and weaknesses, and a few months ago rebranded our seperate stores (Frop and Astraia) to create LeBloom and work on things together! Heather Connolly and Lawra Fredrickson: Our fashion personalities could be described as funky, cute, and fun! We generally keep things simple, colorful and easy to mix and match. Lawra Fredrickson: My life has personally been affected by cancer, as my father died from Lung Cancer. Participating in RFL events here in-world, as well as in my personal life outside of SL helps me give back to what the American Cancer Society has done to help me and my family. Lawra Fredrickson: When comparing both, I would say my SL personality is pretty close to my real life persona-

lity. The main difference would be that I’m more outgoing in-world than I am outside of SL. Here I have no problem telling someone I love their hair and asking where they got it. Outside of this virtual world, I wouldn’t dare approach someone to ask them about their hair!

I joined SL years ago when I worked online for a UK-based company. We communicated via mailing lists – our boss heard you could make money in the game as a virtual stripper and asked us about it via the list one day. I’ve worked for quite a while in internet marketing so I initially joined to figure out how to make some dough – the journey ended up being about much more than that, though. I was a hot mess; first I spent hours customizing the default avatar with system hair, then I spent a week sit-

ting at Ahern (editor’s note: “Ahern” is the name of a sim that serves as a Welcome Area for new SL residents), not knowing what to do, until I met my mentor. From the time I actually fully realized that all the aspects of the game are pretty much resident-produced, I wanted to create something. I spent quite a while struggling to figure out what that something was. The idea of avatars coming to shop at my “store” was very… cute to me, haha! When I found what I was good at, it became less about having a “store” and more about making people happy, giving good deals, meeting the awesome people I’ve met. I try to stay based in that same mindframe, and I enjoy that content creation is an amazing outlet for my creativity. When it comes to my fashion personality, anything goes. You can make anything work. I appreciate all aspects of art and fashion. I lost my great-grandmother to cancer. It’s a terrible disease that needs to be eradicated – hopefully my participation in the Accessory Fair, which supports Relay For Life® of Second Life®, will bring us all a little closer to that.

I joined SL back in August 2006 after seeing some coverage of it in a television show. It got my attention and curiosity; it looked fun and I had the time so I said why not? My journey to creating content for SL Residents all started when I was an assistant at Bax Coen (editor’s note: popular shoe store in SL). I had been wanting some accessories that matched the boots, so one day that the store was empty, I got bored and decided to design something myself and started by creating a bracelet. After that I continued to create more accessories that matched the Bax boots, but eventually creativity pushed me beyond that. So on June 2010 I started my own brand. This is how “je suis…” was born. I don’t think I can put my fashion personality in just one box. It goes from casual to elegant, from cute to sexy, from classic to eccentric. So my fashion personality cannot be categorized, it simply has to hit me in that special way, regardless of the style. Cancer, unfortunately, is something that has touched almost everybody in one way or another. And, although I was always aware of the importance of supporting any efforts towards cancer patients, a cure and prevention, recently it touched me closer than ever before. My grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer. Now more than ever I want to support great people who are invested in finding ways to fight cancer. This is why it is important for me to participate in this event which supports RFL OF SL. The advice or life lesson I would like to share with anyone

who reads this is the following: no matter who says “you can not do this!” No matter who says “you’re not in a position to do so!” Ignore it if you really believe in what you want to do! As long as you’re convincing yourself of it, you’ll make it. It may be a tough road and there will be difficult things to deal with but as long as you believe in your dreams, you’ll make it!

I joined SL about 3 years ago. To be honest, I was a little bit bored in real life, then a friend told me about SL and here I am‌ When we start in SL we have no money, no information sources, so I started to search fashion design tutorials, to download templates and create some shirts (noob shirts, haha!) I love what is different and dramatic. For me, fashion items are not just to wear, I create products that mean something for me. I always supported causes that help those who need it, and it makes me happy. I feel like I did my part to get a better world. This is what it matters for me to join an event like Accessory Fair 2011, which supports RFL of SL. My major motivation behind every virtual product I produce is McQueen of course! You know, some peoples never die. Alexander McQueen is one of these. I would love to bring something that can remember him. As I said before, all this drama means something for me, I really can find personal meaning in his creations.

I joined SL on May 6th, 2007 because the head coder from the MUD (editor’s note with the help of Wikipedia: A MUD – originally Multi-User Dungeon, with later variants MultiUser Dimension and Multi-User Domain – is a multiplayer real-time virtual world described primarily in text) I owned vanished, leaving work to be done. Someone told me he was playing SL and so I “came looking for him”, and got sucked in myself. A friend of a friend in-world knew I was a Builder in SL and a jewelry designer in real life. She had been looking for a strand of pearls that hung down the back. She claimed to have gone to every jewelry store listed in SL and couldn’t find any so she asked me to “build one” for her. Her friends went bananas over the result, and so I’ve been making jewelry in SL ever since. My fashion personality is DEFINITELY not “trendy”. Classic, elegant, uncomplicated would be more me. It matters to me to join an event such as the Accessory Fair 2011 which supports Relay For Life® of SL because neither myself nor anyone in my family has been touched by cancer. I would like to think that someone somewhere that I don’t know would care enough to try to help raise money for something that touches so many people’s lives if our positions were reversed. I’m completing this interview because it’s part of the setup process for the fair. *evil grin*

I joined SL on 11/15/2008. I signed up out of curiosity, I wanted to discover this new virtual world. I got into content creation through my boyfriend, who is also a content creator in SL. Another reason is the passion for accessories, even in my real life. I would say that my personality with fashion is intertwined with everything that belongs to me. I love fashion, accessories, style and be unique. In everything I create, I try to always give a personal touch that represents me, to make the accessory closer to the style that I adore. That’s why my brand is called “I Love Fashion”. It is important for me to attend this event because it is a way to make my brand known to the residents of Second Life®. I want to actually see if and how much they appreciate my creations as well as to understand what are people’s tastes in terms of accessories.

We joined SL in the summer of 2010, because we evolved in virtual worlds during the past 10 years and found that SL is a fantastic one for creation. In the beginning we did our outfits only for ourselves, we then met Mio from Insillico (editor’s note: a futuristic themed commercial district in Second LifeŽ) who proposed us to open a shop there. Everything went fast after that! Our creations have 3 main inspirations: high fashion, cyber culture and music. On the topic of supporting charity organizations, we realize that we are lucky to be able to lead actions altogether worldwide, when an alarming situation arises. We both believe it is our civic responsability to extend our help and reach out to others, including those who need it. Our last words: we create cyber themed fashion designs because the future is now!
