T HA NK S We would like to thank the many funders, sponsors and volunteers who make Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival possible!

Glasgow Building Preservation Trust has been raising the funds to organise and coordinate Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival since it began in 1990 as a one day event for the City of Culture celebrations. Doors Open Days is coordinated nationally by the Scottish Civic Trust and run throughout Scotland every September as part of European Heritage Days.

Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design: 2016 will shine a spotlight on Scotland’s achievements in innovation, architecture and design through a wide-ranging variety of new and existing activity beginning on 1 January 2016 and ending on 31 December 2016.

What’s on our cover? Our front cover this year incorporates various aspects of the 2016 programme. Featured Doors Open Days buildings are The Lighthouse, Theatre Royal, Barras Art and Design and the Bridgeton Bus Garage. The Finnieston Crane reflects the many walks and tours, several of which focus on the built heritage of communities around the River Clyde. The Mackintosh detail is inspired by glasswork at House for an Art Lover.
