Most tickets can be purchased from the website www.glasgowfilm.org/festival. Tickets for GFT events can be purchased online up until 1 hour before the performance. Tickets for most events at other venues can be purchased online until 9pm the day before.
Collection
You can collect your advance tickets from GFT Box Office up until 9pm the day before the performance. On the day of the event, tickets must be picked up at the venue where the film is being shown or the event is being held.
Please produce proof of eligibility when purchasing or collecting tickets. Under-18s who are lucky enough to look older, please bring valid proof of age or your Young Scot card.
Certification
Films not certified by the BBFC are marked N/C and accompanied by an age recommendation e.g. N/C 15 + (suitable for ages 15 and older, no-one under 15 will be admitted). Venues and box office details - see back cover.

GYFF is Europe’s most innovative youth film festival, run entirely by the GYFF Youth Team. We select all the films and guests plus we get to host audience discussions, introduce screenings and organise events. For the past three years we have been providing young people in Glasgow with the opportunity to experience world cinema, make movies and meet special industry guests. This year’s GYFF will be packed with loads of international films including our hilarious opening film Paul, starring Simon Pegg, and West is West, the sequel to hit British comedy East is East. We also have a wide variety of workshops ranging from breakdancing, script writing and TV production, to making a film in a day. As part of our famous One Minute Movie Competition, we’re giving away special prizes (like a laptop) and showcasing the best entries at The Arches. BBC Comedy Workshop: Developing Comedy Ideas for TV Friday 11 February (10.00 – 14.00), GMAC
Run by the BBC Scotland Comedy department, this special workshop will teach budding sitcom writers how to make it big on TV. Open to 15-18-year-olds.
Film Nation: Make a Film in a Day
Friday 11 February (10.00 – 18.00), Castlemilk Youth Complex Run in partnership with Panasonic, Film Nation: Shorts will introduce young people to filmmaking, support them in developing their talent, and give everyone who enters a chance to have their work screened around the UK. Winning films will be screened in front of the crowds in venues during the Olympic and Paralympic Games in London in 2012. Working with industry professionals through First Light, learn how to make a short film in a day, themed around the Olympic and Paralympic Games. All young people will learn about story, camera, sound, directing, editing and producing a short film. The resulting film will also be screened at Focus Left – Youth Edition on Tuesday 15 February (see page 11 for details) Open to 14-16-year-olds.

This year’s theme is all about Best Kept Secrets. Make a 60 second film about something nobody knows about and you could win big prizes! Glasgow Youth Film Festival 2011 is now taking entries for its annual One Minute Movie Competition in association with Chew TV. The competition is open to anyone in Scotland aged 14-19. The most imaginative and creative films will be rewarded with special prizes. Top prize is an Alienware Laptop (worth £800), kindly supplied by Muvizu for Best Individual Film. Completed entries must be uploaded to Chew TV website by Tuesday 1 February 2011 before 6pm. The winners will be announced at Focus Left: Youth Edition at The Arches. (See page 11 for details).
