Business News Calling all dog owners!
Maleny Vet Services is back hosting the RSPCA’s Million Paws Walk event on Sunday, May 19 at the Maleny Showgrounds. The event is held annually to celebrate our furry friends and to help raise much needed funds for the RSPCA to continue to care for the 250,000 animals who come through its doors each year. The walk itself will start at 9am, but there will also be food, competitions and kids’ activities starting from 8am and continuing after the walk. It will be a great day out for your friends, family and dogs. Dogs are encouraged to dress up (owners are too) for the walk as there is a fancy dress competition. The walk starts at the main oval at the Maleny Showgrounds at 9am, then on to Coral Street and along the Obi Creek boardwalk back to the showgrounds.
Registering and purchasing your Million Paws Walk tickets can be done on the day but doing it online is easier and you get an early bird discount. To purchase online go to http://bit.ly/2TPUMI3, which directs you to the exact page on the RSPCA website. But wait, there’s more … Maleny Vet Services and Maleny Apex have brought back the popular Paws of Thunder event to be held after the Million Paws Walk at the showgrounds. There will be races and events for all shapes and sizes of dogs. Registration for the Paws of Thunder events can be done on the day. For more details, check out the Facebook page www.facebook.com/pawsofthunder.

It’s not often that staff at your local branch of the Commonwealth Bank would like to be called clowns but next Friday, April 12 you will definitely be able to get a laugh when you head into the Beerwah branch. CommBank staff throughout Queensland will be supporting the Clown Doctors this April and the Beerwah branch will participate in an awareness and fundraising day by dressing in their best clown

The Clown Doctors is the core program of The Humour Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that supports doctors dressed as clowns visiting sick children in hospital, treating them with a dose of humour. Last year CommBank raised almost $200,000 from the fundraising efforts of its branch network.
Reno done and dusted Hinterland Body and Soul in Turner Street at Beerwah is known for transforming clients but in the past fortnight the premises have undergone a transformation. The wall has come down between the neighbouring business, The Fat Frenchmen Patisserie Café, and the renovation is complete. The treatment room is looking fabulous. To enter the premises, you will come through the café, which owner and manager Shannon Beggs Greenwood reckons will be great for her clients as they can sit, relax and enjoy a coffee and a treat
before or after their appointment. With the countdown on to Easter, Shannon is keen to remind people to make an appointment for their treatments before the break by phoning 5494 0546 or drop in and see the transformation for yourself.
