I strive for evidence-based strategies, and take the initiative to interview key stakeholders for each project. For example, I have interviewed Scouts Australia NSW, MPA (Metropolitan Planning Authority), Sydney fish market operations Manager, and PIMA (Pacific Island Museum Association). This approach allows me to innovate practical solutions for each project.

The proposed Overseas Passenger Terminal readapted the existing heritage building and watching tower for custom and civic use respectfully to reduce construction materials thus achieve sustainable purposes. The three level system-ground level for site entrance/baggage claim and traffic pickups & drop-offs; first floor level (George street level) for civic platform and George Street entrance; second floor level& above for terminal custom use and administration. A clear system distinctively segregates programs whilst combining multi-functional facilities in multi-purpose complex.

The traffic flow underneath the civic walkway has 15-miniute free parking zones serve for taxi, coach and trucks pickups and drop-offs for passengers and luggage. It has two restricted access to the foreshore for forklifts deliver cruise goods only. The baggage hall was designed on the same level with traffic route to minimize maneuverability of items for passengers and staff.

During non-ship days, the baggage hall is available as leisure venue by simply remove all the temporary passengers’ seating. It has a delicate view towards the Opera House and a strong steel truss structure which bearing the concrete civic green platform on top. The cantilevered custom structure was designed with minimum structural support on Eastern end to embrace more lighting projecting on the platform underneath it.

As a young (average age of 25-34) and multicultural (57% foreign of speaking over 6 languages) city, Parramatta lacks of multi-hybrid late night entertainment to satisfied the need from such large cultural diversity. The project is to create new features which embedded in an adequate security and alcohol related crime control, target in youth, sports and hip-hop culture day to night entertainment venue to feed the needs from Parramatta city. The project took the advantage of the alleyway, not only provided ample queuing space but also created an open outdoor public pub which made with shipping containers and half pipe at the dead-end. A fusion of creative graffiti art, rusty industrial aesthetic and skateboarding culture resonate with the discotheque in a unique style.
The major feature of the discotheque is the enormous skateboarding half pipe and skateboarding ramp inserted through the entire building. Such installation broke the existing two vertical transportation pattern. Instead, it generated a cross-building circulation and spaces in-between the two ramps.

Problem: . City lack of late night services for both pubs and restaurants, unique and ordinary night entertainments attract less people to stay overnight, hardly develop late night economy in Parramatta. . Facilities unlikely corresponding with multicultural features, lack of localized culture. . Spreading all over away from the city spine hardly control safety for circulations. Solution: . Bridging from night time entertainments to late night services. . Develop theme which corresponding with the three elements that being signified by council cultural planning. . The location embedded in the restaurant zone which has deep influence in Parramatta city. Economy wise is to stimulate and serve the surrounding instead of standing alone whilst use as much of public spaces.

The primary structure used load bearing brick stacks since the existing façade of 306 Church street is not being altered. Podium and mezzanine floor is being supported by interior steel truss which cut through the building that supported by steel columns embedded inside of the masonry façade, the cantilevered rooftop is also sitting on those trusses. A new steel post & beam structure supporting glass glazing was been designed to put on the roof. All skating ramps were supported by vertical trusses which also functions as lifts and shafts.

-circle of life, spirit and culture Prior to the frame of a 20-year span Rozelle bay masterplan, the proposal of the Maritime museum of Pacific was designed as a civic hub to inform -Local society with profound Pacific culture and its huge influence to Australia -Raise the critical awareness for visitors to protect the fragile environment of the Pacific -An educational centre for local islanders and help them to cope with western society
The character of the museum takes a traditional approach to showcase the intricacy of past and present pacific maritime culture. The major constriction material will be timber as to compose a contemporary and engineered structure with steel. Although accurate representation of pacific cultures was the top priority, other tourist attractions, logistical, and security issues were not ignored. The design features a kinetic structure responding to human interaction, in-house artists and administration.
The museum mainly has 4 sections, the archive connects with the loading dock and its parameter is used for temporary exhibition and large items, free access towards public. The main exhibition area contains gallery requires for payments. The excluded administration zone and re-search library area isolated from street level and choose to build on top of water in order to achieve a solitude environment. And exterior section including artists’ live-in studio and work-shop and heritage boat amphitheatre.
