Whether clients require infrastructure, project managers, labourintensive construction or non-motorised transport (NMT) facilities, Daveng offer services that are of the highest quality.

The company have access to expertise in structural, electrical and mechanical engineering, as well as land surveying, geotechnical investigations and other specialist services that may be required.

As an example of how their relationships unfold, Daveng were appointed by the Overstrand Municipality: Engineering Services Department in September 2010 for a three-year period for the design and implementation of labour-intensive projects under the EPWP in their area.

In 2012, Daveng received the first project under this appointment, which was for the design and implementation of a soccer field in Kleinmond, near Hermanus. A closed landfill site was chosen. This required a multidisciplinary team to determine the site’s viability. It was determined that an astro turf surface would be the most suitable option in terms of future maintenance and lifespan. Construction cost totalled R6.8 million over six months. The Kleinmond soccer field achieved a FIFA One Star accreditation in 2014.

From the original three-year appointment grew a long list of projects, including the construction of NMT facilities in Hermanus, the upgrading of residential roads and rehabilitation of existing roads in Zwelihle and Mount Pleasant, plus the rehabilitation of existing roads and associated stormwater in Standford and Blompark. The construction value totalled approximately R40 million.

The project is still ongoing, with the latest extension on the original appointment running from 2019 to 2021.

Alongside these activities are various infrastructure projects completed or ongoing for the Western Cape government, in addition to maintenance intervention completed for SANRAL.

Daveng promote a culture where employees are urged to be bold, honest and innovative to promote personal development and consequently exceed clients’ expectations.
