T
he National Cleaner Production Centre of South Africa (NCPC-SA) is hosting its Industrial Efficiency Conference at no cost to delegates. The conference, which is held every two years, is aimed at sharing best practices and building capacity in the industry to transition to a green economy. What sets the conference apart is a twoday programme educating and equipping businesses to adopt a cleaner, more efficient model of doing business and offering government representatives better solutions for the implementation of a green economy. The NCPC-SA also makes use of workshops to share tools and case studies during the conference. The biennial event has become a tangible indicator of the impact of and need for the subsidised services of the NCPC-SA. “Since the first conference in 2013, industry representatives, government officials, consultants, researchers and academics have met to share the latest tools and methodologies, as well as successful case studies on how to transform production and business practices to be more efficient, resulting in not only resource use efficiency, but financial savings as well,” says Ndivhuho Raphulu, director, NCPC-SA.
