BOWLING Program Pathway Parent & Tot

Excellent way to introduce our youngest Members to the Sport of Bowling. Child and Parent working together to have fun, yet remain safe. Whether sitting on the floor and pushing the ball down the lane, throwing between the legs or developing a one-handed swing, it’s a great place to acquire that love of the game that can last a lifetime.

Physical Literacy 5-Pin

Developing the physical skills to play 5-pin at the next level. A great option to learn the game while maintaining control of the equipment. As the 5-pin balls weigh an average of 4 pounds, most Juniors aged 5 and up have no problems at all learning 5-pin while still having fun and remaining safe.

Physical Literacy 10-Pin

Another option for the Junior player if they would like to try the 10-pin game. As the equipment is heavier (6-14 pounds), we recommend a later start, again to keep the Juniors safe while enjoying this new sport. As in all programs, we like to keep the FUN in FUNdamentals and enjoy the sport in concert with added mastery of the games.

Collaboration & Inclusion

Bowling has a great advantage over many other sports in there is not a single “body type” that is most optimal for the sport. This is just one of the reasons that Bowling prides itself as one of the most inclusive of the sports. As Juniors reach adolescence, we are very cognizant of their individual development and help to make them feel included as part of OUR sport.

Skill Development

As the athlete shows a greater appreciation for the sport, we guide them with the latest coaching and instructional methodologies. Each athlete has a program developed for their optimal learning strategy and designed not to give too much information, too early. It’s still ultimately and sport and game, so fun should always be a part of the growth process.

Pre-Competitive

Athletes will be taught the “higher level” aspects of the game. Lane play, ball motion, equipment selection, mental game. All the things that don’t necessarily fit into skill development. This provides additional insight to be a better competitor both on and off the lanes.

Junior Leagues

Putting the skill development and acquired knowledge to the test, the athlete will be guided along the path of becoming a competitive bowler. While competition is the main focus, we still try and keep the feeling collegial and supportive amongst all of the participants.

Mentoring

Our philosophy in Bowling is we “Coach to Teach”. Not just teaching skills, but teaching the whys and hows of our coaching philosophy. A coaching “osmosis” occurs between the coach and the athletes and the athletes feel comfortable offering advice to not only those more junior, but to their peers as well. The Club has been very generous in my development as a coach, why not pass the information along.
