Happy New Year to you All! I’m delighted to inform you all that we ended 2022 with a healthy number of applications in all categories of the Club, which just shows that Membership of MCC remains highly sought-after. As we are in a New Year I thought I would politely point out a few areas that do, once in a while, slip one’s mind…

1. Membership Application

* At the time of application the minimum entrance fee deposit is required in order for one’s candidate to proceed to the next stage. * No one can become a Member until full entrance fees are received.

* A candidate cannot proceed to the next step of the process if a proposer/ seconder is not in good standing (for example, posted for non-payment.) * After the orientation process, candidates are required to complete the probationary requirements within three months.

* The waiting period for Full Town

Membership to meet the Balloting

Committee is approximately 18 months. * A parent ONLY can propose a son and/or daughter for Membership.

2. Membership Cards are only to be used by the respective Members. Junior Family Members from the age of seven up to 18 can be provided with their own cards, but the parent/s are to settle these bills.

3. Short Term Membership is valid for five years.

4. Temporary Membership is for non-Kenyan residents. However, should a Member wish for a Kenyan resident to stay at the Club, this is permitted provided the Member also stays at the Club for the duration of their guests’ stay.

5. Young Members (18 - 29) are to apply for their transition to Full Membership before their 30th birthday. The Balloting Committee welcomes any suggestions in any area you feel we can improve, and in this case, please write to Diana Waithaka, our Membership secretary - membership@mcc.co.ke

Thank you and wishing you and your loved ones a Happy and Healthy 2023! Best wishes,

Kush Bhardwaj Chairman Balloting Committee

Dear Members,

First and foremost, I would like to thank you for attending the AGM in large numbers and supporting the various resolutions, that were all passed with large majorities, also for your continued support, by using the Club and paying your dues on time. I am happy to report that the Club has largely weathered the shocks from Covid 19 and the global inflationary pressures and managed to achieve impressive results in the financial year ended June 2022. Costs have been managed very well and the Club’s cash position is stable. With your support, the Club is breaking even after applying subscriptions. This permits entrance fees from new Members to be ring-fenced from operations and to be used exclusively for investment in capital projects and new services, to enhance Members’ experience. Our key focus now remains to seek opportunities to invest our cash reserves in a way that secures the longterm financial sustainability of the Club. We also continue allocating adequate funds to maintain and renew Club facilities to enable us to continue delivering great value to Members in terms of quality and service. On the administration front, we have a large balance of unidentified credits and therefore remind Members to always indicate their account numbers in full when making direct deposits in the Club’s bank accounts. We also request those Members who may have deposited money in the Club’s accounts, but who have not informed us, to contact the Accounts office.

We continue automating our payment processes for improved efficiency and Members accounts are now being updated on a real time basis, with MPesa and card payments. This has, however, been possible only when Members provide their Membership account numbers in full. We kindly request that those Members who are used to using the shortened format of their account numbers please provide their Membership number in full when making payments. This is necessary because the automation only works with the full eightcharacter alpha-numeric number.

The majority of our Members are still not using the Club on a regular basis, and we therefore continue appealing to all Members, to please come and enjoy your Club more.

In the meantime, with my best wishes for the New Year, I thank you again for your support of the Club.
