Glenn Van Straatum
Glenn is in his third year as Director of Coaching and his seventh year with the Bay Oaks, having served previously as Assistant Director. In 2007, Glenn was the Head Coach of the California Victory, a professional USL Division I expansion franchise with its home games at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco. He was also assistant coach at the University of San Francisco in 2001. Glenn is an experienced coaching director, coach, player and leader in Bay Area professional, semi-professional and youth soccer ranks. His playing career includes World Cup qualifying and CONCACAF Country/Club experience for his native country of Surinam and club team Transvaal (CONCACAF champion, ‘81). In college, he played on the University of San Francisco NCAA National Championship teams in 1978 and 1980 and left his best for his senior year in 1982 scoring 16 goals and 10 assists (42-points).
