Si bien el término de Inteligencia Artificial no es tan reciente como parece, La IA causa furor prácticamente a diario en sus diferentes ámbitos de aplicación entre los que se encuentran la literatura, el cine, la moda, la salud, el sector manufacturero, la educación, los hogares, el deporte, las mascotas, por sólo nombrar algunas áreas en las que esta maravilla tecnológica ocupa un rol protagónico, del que difícilmente podría ser sustituida. Es importante destacar que algunos detractores insisten en resaltar, lo que ellos consideran un “riesgo” para la humanidad, argumentando que la Inteligencia Artificial pudiera representar la sustitución de la mano humana en algunos ámbitos laborales. Al respecto, se debe mencionar que difícilmente eso podría suceder, ya que las características humanas tales como emociones, capacidad de discernir, entre otras, siempre estarán muy por encima de las propiedades de la mejor máquina.

In this regard, it should be mentioned that this could hardly happen, since human characteristics such as emotions, ability to discern, among others, will always be far above the properties of the best machine.

Es importante destacar que el tema de las emociones es uno de los que se ha tornado más polémico, ya que si bien, cuando los humanos estamos tistes o molestos, pueden adoptar actitudes poco acertadas, esto nunca le ocurrirá a un robot, el cual siempre va actuar de forma lógica y racional sin importar los que pase a su alrededor, tomando una buena decisión. Incluso, ante un escenario particular, puede ajustar su velocidad y tiempo, sin afectar su sistema.

El aspecto inherente al tiempo es fundamental a la hora de evaluar las ventajas y desventajas de la Inteligencia A r t i fi c i a l , y a q u e l a s decisiones que toma una máquina pueden ser extremadamente rápidas, facilitando algunos procesos que sin ésta implicarían gran inversión de tiempo y recursos, como por ejemplo, la identificación de rostros de personas en tiempo real. Esta característica se relaciona a su vez, con la disponibilidad inmediata que permite la inteligencia artificial, ya que los humanos requieren de un tiempo mínimo de descanso, pues de lo contrario no se garantiza el rendimiento. A diferencia de los robots que no necesitan descansar, por lo que están disponibles las 24 horas y los 365 días del año.

Asimismo, en caso de una falla irreversible, para restablecer el sistema, se necesitará no solo de una grande inversión de dinero sino también de mucho tiempo.

Cabe destacar que a pesar de los múltiples beneficios de la Inteligencia Artificial, una desventaja es que su actividad es limitada, ya que el cerebro humano es más potente en el sentido, que puede almacenar más información, recuperarla mejor y hacerla más accesible. Además, no tienen la capacidad para cambiar ni adaptarse a las diferentes circunstancias, pues han sido programados con un solo fin. Al respecto, algunos expertos en el ámbito tecnológico sostienen que la inteligencia artificial no ha podido diseñar máquinas que puedan parecerse al humano en cuanto a la creatividad, es evidente que carecen de emociones y de habilidades por ejemplo como la del discernimiento, lo que sigue dejando en un aspecto superior a las capacidades humanas.

His voice hides the philosophy of its creator, Aidan Meller, for whom this android is the new "zeitgeist" (spirit of our time), as it reflects "the great themes that will emerge from here to the next ten years". He has a robotic arm, a pseudohuman expression and cameras installed in his eyes. Its name, Ai-Da, is a combination of the acronym Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the syllabe 'Da', in honor of English mathematics, computing and writer Ada Lovelace.

La rápida evolución de ciertos sectores como la propia inteligencia artificial, la biotecnología, el big data, la robótica o el transhumanismo, fue uno de los motivos que impulsaron a Meller a crear a este humanoide, que ya tiene su propia exposición de arte: "Futuros sin garantías", donde se muestran las obras que ha creado con su prótesis automatizada y un lápiz.

"Ella es el espejo del futuro y pone sobre la mesa preguntas tales como ¿qué van a suponer todas las transformaciones tecnológicas que estamos presenciando?, ¿qué tipo de mundo estamos construyendo? o ¿es este el porvenir que queremos?", reflexiona Meller. El comerciante de arte británico decidió embarcarse en el proyecto en 2017 tras concluir que la conexión de grandes maestros de la historia como Miguel Ángel Buonarroti, Leonardo da Vinci, Pablo Picasso o Andy Warhol radicaba en que todos habían logrado capturar la esencia de su tiempo. "Todo nació con dos interrogantes un poco locos: ¿Por qué tan solo un pequeño porcentaje de artistas consiguieron destacar en su trabajo mientras que la mayoría no lo logró? y ¿qué tenían en común todos ellos?", se replanteó.

Con la ayuda de la compañía británica de robótica Engineered Arts y los investigadores de las universidades de Leeds y Oxford, Ai-Da finalmente se completó en abril de este año. Meller está convencido de que la década de 2020 va a ser "una de las más importantes de la historia", porque las nuevas tecnologías van a estar más presentes que nunca en el ámbito social. Por ello, Ai-Da es su manera de invitar a la reflexión acerca de las decisiones que se toman desde una perspectiva ética, al igual que ya hicieron otros autores como Aldous Huxley o George Orwell en sus novelas "Un mundo feliz" (1932) y "1984" (1948). Del mismo modo, Meller destaca una nueva incógnita que surge a raíz de la convivencia con el humanoide, y que está relacionada con su conceptualización.

Marta García, farmacéutica especialista, ha liderado el desarrollo de un p royecto qu e viene pa r a a po r t a r agilidad y comodidad y que además es de utilidad para médicos y personal de Enfermería, implicados en la aplicación de estas terapias. "Hasta el desarrollo de este sistema, teníamos una guía de 2013, de unas 80-90 páginas, que decidimos actualizar a finales de 2018, para incorporar nuevos antídotos. En ese proceso, pensamos inicialmente en desarrollar una app, pero se nos planteó esta herramienta más sencilla, más moderna, que además no necesita la descarga de aplicación para ser usada (funciona con Telegram). El modo de funcionamiento es como una conversación, donde tú preguntas y el chatbot te da las respuestas", explica García.

The first thing was to upload the information contained in the Antidote Administration Guide on the chatbot platform, which keeps inside a list of the antidotes available in the hospital, as well as the poisonings for which they are used; information on active substances, indications, mechanisms of action, doses and routes of administration and observations; treatment algorithms, such as acetaminophen poisoning, or bleeding/surgery or invasive procedure in patient to direct-acting anticoagulant treatment, as well as performing glomerular filtration calculations (clearance creatiline) using the Cockcroft-Gault formula, to administer, or not, N-acetylcisteine in acetaminophen poisoning and to set the dosage, etc.

Lo primero fue cargar la información contenida en la Guía de administración de antídotos en la plataforma chatbot, que guarda en su interior un listado de los antídotos disponibles en el hospital, así como de las intoxicaciones para los que se usan; información sobre los principios activos, indicaciones, mecanismos de acción, dosis y vías de administración y observaciones; algoritmos de tratamiento, por ejemplo, la intoxicación por paracetamol, o el sangrado/cirugía o procedimiento invasivo en paciente a tratamiento con anticoagulantes de acción directa, así como la realización de los cálculos sobre filtrado glomerular (aclaramiento de creatinina) utilizando la fórmula de Cockcroft-Gault, para administrar, o no, N-acetilcisteina en la intoxicación por paracetamol y para establecer la dosis, etc. Con la información cargada, se definieron los intents y los entities (tóxicos y antídotos), y se realizó el entrenamiento, en el que estuvieron implicados farma-

céuticos e informáticos, hasta que el 100% de respuestas obtenidas a las cuestiones que se le plantearon fueron correctas. Y es que, el proceso de aprendizaje es gradual: 50-70-90-100%. Este proceso duró unas ocho semanas y, a partir de ahí, ya comenzó a dársele difusión al proyecto entre los potenciales usuarios, que no han necesitado una formación específica ya que el funcionamiento es sencillo.

García aclara que el chatbot no es más que un sistema informático, que basa su actuación en la inteligencia artificial. Se trata, en este sentido, de una plataforma que contiene información predefinida y "que no interpreta, simplemente responde a lo que se le pide". Ante una pregunta formulada por el usuario, explica García, "la herramienta reconoce el lenguaje y contesta". "Su uso es muy sencillo", añade.
