The 2021 Jeep Cherokee comes with the same standard 2.4L naturally aspirated inline-4 motor producing 180 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque. This motor is mated to a torque converter 9-speed automatic transmission and the power is put down through the front wheels. However, an optional 4WD version is also available for $1,500 more on all the trims. Along with this motor, there are two more powertrains on offer, namely a turbocharged 2L motor and a 3.2L Pentastar V6 motor, both of which are also mated to the same 9-speed auto.
However, for the 2021 iteration, the Cherokee comes with several standard safety and driver-assistance features like automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and more. The lower trims like Latitude and Latitude Plus, both of which come for a base MSRP of $26,535 and $28,605, get features like heated mirrors, one-touch up/down power windows, and many more too. Even the higher trims like Trailhawk also get a more standard kit, making it more rounded in comparison to the outgoing 2020 model.

Basically, the Jeep Cherokee delivers four different trims and also with two engines as options. All trim levels are both available to front-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive. Cherokee uses a 2.4L 4-cylinder unit that produces 184 horsepower as a basic engine. It is capable of bringing up to 31 mpg on the highway when mated to 9-speed automatic and front-wheel drive, which is the standard one. Some women opt for a more powerful engine, thus, they go full length to a 3.2L V6, which offers 271 horsepower, boosting its acceleration. Additionally, Cherokee is nicely equipped, with standard items such as 17-inch wheels, keyless entry, automatic windows and door locks, Bluetooth connectivity, USB and auxiliary inputs for the stereo, steering wheel mounted cruise and audio controls and a 5-inch touchscreen.
Commodious, comforting, and deluxe are all words to describe the 2021 Jeep Cherokee’s cabin. The 2021 Cherokee’s cabin can squad up to 5 passengers easily, and comfort them in the cozy bucket seats, which can be wrapped with cloth, premium vinyl, genuine leather, and even premium Nappa leather as per the trim chosen by the buyers. The High Altitude and Trailhawk trims, which comes at a base price of $34,386 and $33,207, embraces heating and ventilation options for the seats along with a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and a touchscreen UConnect infotainment system.
