General practicalities Access All gates are open Monday to Friday from 08-17. Outside opening hours, visitors will have to use the assigned swipe card keys in order to gain access, both via the main gates on FĂŚlledvej and for each building entrance. Each swipe card has an access code which you will receive upon check-in. Please be aware that the gates and doors to entrance D (to Ravnsborggade) are closed after 17.00, as well as weekends, and you will not be able to enter through here, even with a swipe card, unless specifically agreed with the Global Platform team. If this is the case, please use the entrance at FĂŚlledvej 12. Alarms Alarms are normally active throughout the building from 23.00-06.00 during weekdays as well as all day Saturday and Sunday. However, for guests staying overnight, the alarm will be deactivated at the ground floor and first floor levels. The alarm will still be active in the rest of the building, and visitors will be charged 1000 DKK in the event that this is activated. Alcohol We kindly ask that you refrain from consuming alcohol at GPDK during office hours (08-17). Any bottles brought unto the premises must be discarded in the appropriate bins. Noise All windows and doors must be closed when loud music is played or other noisy activities occur in the building. Please refrain from having loud conversations in the yard. Smoking All ActionAid buildings (including Global Platform) are non-smoking. Smoking can only take place in the yard. Please dispose any cigarette ends in the designated bins. When leaving the Platform Please go through the check-list on page 7.

Dormitories Dormitory Global Platform Denmark can accommodate 46 people in bunk beds across 3 rooms. Sovesal 1 has 20 beds Sovesal 2 has 14 beds Sovesal 3 has 12 beds. The rooms are not gender designated and visitors will have to organise this according to their preference. Duvets and pillows are available, but visitors will have to bring their own linen, including bed sheets, duvet covers, pillow covers and towels. Linen can be rented if ordered a week in advance. The price is 60 DKK per set. When vacating the dormitories, please ensure that you have taken off all the linen and placed it either on top of the bed or in the designated plastic bins. You may be charged a fee for any missing or left behind linnen. Shower facilities and storage There are basic shower facilities in the annex to Sovesal 3 on the ground floor. In order to access the showers, visitors will have to either use the external door (next to the Opgang C stairs) or, alternatively, pass through sovesal 3. If doing the latter, we kindly ask that you pass through quietly and considerately. There are bureaus available for storage within the dormitories. However, all storage is at your own risk and we recommend that you bring your valuables with you at all times. Kitchen facilities If access to the kitchen facilities is included in your stay, you can use both cutlery and tableware at the Spiseriet (Eatery) in building B, between GPDK and the main building. Please ensure that all used items are cleaned and replaced after use. Event organisers might be charged for any items left unwashed. Café Mellemrummet On Ravnsborggade 11, at the back entrance to GPDK, lies Café Mellemrummet, ActionAid’s not-for-profit volunteer-run café where you can purchase fair trade drinks and snacks. The café is open from 12 noon and until 11 PM on weekdays and 2 AM on weekends.

A standard 2 zones ticket costs 24 DKK. Taxis are generally more expensive, costing approx. 100-150 DKK for an inner-city trip. Most Copenhageners go by bike, and there are several places close to Global Platform Denmark which rent out bicyles. If this is of interest, please let us know and we will send you an overview.
