WHAT IS HAPPENING AT GLOBAL PLATFORM JORDAN? October 2014
Join up for the Joint Campaign at CDC In October the Global Platform Jordan conducted a number of trainings with our

in
Zarqa, Jordan. Three different trainings were conducted: Mobilization & Social Media, Governance & Accountability, and Advocacy Campaigns. The three tracks are all part of the CDC Joint campaign after which the CDC youth groups will be conducting a campaign in their local community. Each track of the training gave the participants a series of critical tools that the participants will use while they begin the first phase of their campaign. For example, they were taught how to create Social Accountability Report Cards, and with those report cards, they will have a significant understanding of the needs of their community, which they can use to plan the main objectives of their campaign. Saed Al Zawahreh 18, who took part in the Governance & Accountability training found the training very empowering: "It was better than I was expecting because I
thought it would be something boring and non-unique. I expected to spend our time just discussing but I was pleasantly surprised by the games and the participatory way

of the training". He especially liked the participatory activities such as the role-plays as it gave him the chance to actually try the theories in practice. Another participant from the Governance & Accountability training, Layla Al Masri 21, said that she really enjoyed the group work: "The group
worked really well together and didn’t judge one another.

work showed her how different perspectives can shed

about for a long time.

A sustainable working culture From the 21st of October to the 23rd of October the Global Platform Jordan jointed the Arab Regional Initiative staff on a retreat in Aqaba, Jordan. The main objective for this retreat was to put more focus on and build up a strong ARI working culture. The three days in Aqaba featured teambuilding activities and group work discussions on how to create a sustainable working culture - internally as well as externally. The debates and discussions were fruitful and resulted in many great initiatives, which will be developed further this year, and onwards into 2015.
