INTRODUCTION Education is a basic, universal, inalienable and fundamental right for developing societies and industries in every country. Education shall be accessible complying with different groups and communities learning needs. An inclusive and equitable education straighten human rights by encouraging peace, conflict resolution, mutual understanding, and sustainability. Therefore, it’s important to ensure that education providers comply with conditions, methodologies, and tools for all teaching needs, through better international practices and resources, offering a service of quality, promoting knowledge and permanently motivate learning. Facing the global concern for having an education of quality, ISO developed the first management system standard for educational organizations, ISO 21001. The main purpose is to develop services in institutions, to comply with the interested parties needs through a comprehensive set of effective practices of a designed management quality, to surpass expectations of those who use educational services, and creating a stronger and productive educational industry. U N D E R S TA N D I N G I S O 21001 WHAT’S ISO 21001 AND WHO CAN USE IT? ISO 21001:2018, educational organizations, Management System for Educational Organizations requirements with a guidance use. This is a standard for organizations providing educational products and services that could link other international standards, like ISO 9001, by using a High-level Structure. It’s useful for all types of educational providers, from kindergarten to higher education, professional training centers, and online learning services, both public and private, also, for companies not fully working in the educational field but providing these services. ISO 21001 requirements are generic and expected to be employed in any organization using a study plan to support competencies, through teaching, learning or research, regardless of their size or type.

ON WHICH WAY IT CONTRIBUTES TO EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION? The standard purpose is to improve processes and quality in institutions to link its mission and vision in the interest of students, professors, parents, and other interested parties. Companies will achieve continuous improvement, through implementing a Management System for Educational Organization (SGOE) by providing, sharing and easing knowledge, meanwhile complies with legal requirements and relevant regulations.

ISO 21001 requirements establish a set of interrelated elements, interacting with the organization by defining policies, planning, operations, and responsibilities. The organizations shall define and provide necessary resources to establish, maintain and a continuous improvement of the SGOE to optimizes sustainably with learning, personal competences, and beneficiary’s satisfaction.

The use of needed criteria and methods to assure the operation and efficient control of processes. Define necessary resources and guarantee its availability. Assign responsibilities and authorities for processes. Addressing risks and opportunities. Evaluate process and implement any necessary change to assure expected results. Improve processes. Maintain documented information to the extent necessary to support the operation of processes. Keep documented information.
