The family run company Polarbröd has been around for over 133 years, and is now headed by a fifth generation of bakers. And we want to be around for many generations to come. Over the years, Polarbröd has been praised for its innovative solutions. One is the Polar Sandwich, the world's first frozen sandwich. Another is the Polar Method, a way of keeping the bread fresh by freezing. When the award Utstickarpriset was instituted in 2012, our history made it clear to us that that we should reward innovation and sustainability. This year, our second-ever award will go to someone who has demonstrated great leadership that benefits everyone, not just in our country. The fact that good leadership is a key ingredient in the success of a company goes without saying. To create permanent change, and to win the 2013 Utstickarpris-award, the leadership must have an impact on the outside world. The award Utstickarpriset recognizes the brave people who go their own way; people who show consideration and drive, innovation and perseverance.
