He lived and worked his entire life on the family farm. He attended country school near Grafton. After his father passed away in December of 1973, and his mother in June of 1977, Dell continued to work and care for the farm. During the winter months, Dell would go to auctions and collect farm antiques, restoring them if necessary. He had a large collection of which he was very proud. He liked showing someone an item and trying to stump them as to it’s purpose. When his eldest brother, Earl, entered the Northwood Retirement Home, Dell would go every evening after chores to visit and help Earl and other residents eat supper. He was a well-known and welcome face around there, even serving on the board. Dell, himself, became a resident of the Retirement Home and brightened others’ days with his visits and wonderful smile. Dell died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. Those left to remember and cherish him are his brother and sister-in-law, Everett and Beverly Walk; nephews, Steve Miller, Brad and Dawn Lunning
