She has been student of the month in science, social studies, math and instrumental music. Hackman’s awards and honors include: Principal’s List, Honor Roll, National Honor Society, Outstanding Choral Achievement, North Central Iowa Band Association Scholar, and AP Scholar. She was awarded a scholarship through the Architecture, Construction and Engineering Program. In the community, Hackman is a member and volunteers her time to the Historical Preservation Commission of Mason City. She is involved in the Silver Cord community service program at Mason City and has logged over 120 hours of community service through many activities. Hackman is a member of Grace Evangelical Free Church, where she helps in the tech booth during the church’s annual Christmas plays. She would like to attend Washington University in St. Louis next fall and major in history or political science, with the intention of using either major as her undergraduate to law school.
