3D-LED® technology In order to optimize the use of the light emitted by the LEDs, Salvi M.A.Group developed and patented in 2007 an array of LED directions, that when working in conjunction of a parabolic lens generate a series of photometric distributions designed to satisfy the needs of a wide variety of outdoor lighting situations with maximum efficiency. The performance ratio of the Led-lens unit reaches 92%, and the efficiency of anima exceeds 86%. All the light emitted by every LED is carefully driven to the work area avoiding light intrusion and losses. The 3DLed technology outperforms the utilance values of the best discharge lamp luminaires in the market

Thermal management In anima the LEDs are placed and fixed directly to the luminaire main body. A large heat sink above the LEDs forming integral part of the main body design ensures an optimal heat transfer and dissipation.
RELATIVE FLUX Vs JUNCTION TEMPERATURE (I1=350mA)
Keeping the LED union temperature (Tj) as low as possible is key to achieve good LED performance, reliability and maximum life. To achieve this anima LEDs feature the lowest ºC/W in the market. With a value of 3ºC/W it is a third of most of the LEDs. In anima the LEDs are directly mounted to the outside heat sink, thus avoiding resistance layers that would otherwise increase heat accumulation. In case of excessive heat build up in the luminaire, the control system reduces the intensity automatically thus protecting the LEDs.

anima is urban
The new urban landscape is designed for the people. To its dynamism, to the working environment, to the leisure time... anima is an urban concept, as it harmoniously coexists in many streets and areas, providing light, creating comfort, throughout time with guarantee.

Integration anima blends gracefully in all the urban settings thanks to its universal design and reduced dimensions. The design of the luminaire is focused from the general concept to its tiniest details towards maximising efficiency and energy savings.
Comfort Recent scientific studies show the relation between a quality llighting and health. Artificial lighting frequently lack some of the sunlight wavelength spectra. Areas lit with good illumination levels and a colour temperature in the vicinity of 3000ยบK (warm white) favours the wellness at night for both people and animals helping reduce the seasonal affective disorder.
12 - anima urban
The selection of materials and proprietary manufacturing systems developed by Salvi M.A.Group make of anima an extremely robust and anti vandal luminaire that will resist the test of time in optimum conditions with of outside cleaning as the only necessary maintenance.
Adaptability anima is available in a wide range of power and photometric distributions to suit any project.

anima is sustainable

Supply and control system The control system developed specifically for this application includes a single power supply-driver system using state of the art components resulting in an operating efficiency above 90% and a lifetime in excess of 70.000h. The electronic module is located at the base of the column so that heat does not affect the LED performance, thus ensuring a lower working temperature. Three different systems cover the various needs of control, ease of installation and management. All versions offering the ability to manage power on times efficiently, thus making possible to achieve superior energy savings.
Smart control No need to make large investments to save energy at peak hours efficiently. anima has a power supply-driver with smart reduction for all types of projects. It features a microprocessor that measures the time at power-on mode of the previous day and by comparison with a annual database of hours day / night activates the flow reduction at the same time every day, offering a better service than traditional systems as shown in the accompanying table:
Centralized control The investment made in recent years by local councils to save energy by using central dimming-stabilising systems in main switchboards for discharge lamps has been important, allowing through stabilization and dimming of the voltage in peak hours, to achieve yearly savings of 25%. The driver for this module identifies the voltage dimming and translates it into current variation received by the luminaire, reducing consumption and flow, up to 80% if appropriate. This function can also be used to increase the light output if appropriate. In practice, assuming a twofold dimming in flow, the first starting at 23h of 50% and the second from 02.00h to 70% (at equal values of installed power and voltages), the of consumption comparison would be:

Point to point control The same source and control module features in this case a wireless communication system with the main switchboard via Zig-Bee protocol so that besides the energy saving features of the previous versions allows the point to point control of the luminaires and can be set to manage individually or by groups of lights, the switch on/off and dimming as needed. This system can be run on a permanent power on line required when the council wished to use the lighting installation to source other services.

Energy and sustainability The design, manufacturing process and the performance of anima make it an exceptional luminaire, worthy of the class A energy and the eco-label. Compared to the high end discharge lamp luminaires the performance of anima will save over 30% of energy during the product life. (see graphic) The energy is by far the largest cost of the life cycle of a luminaire with discharge lamps. The cost of energy in Europe has grown 12% annually over the past five years. It is foreseeable that in the future growth rate is maintained or increased. We must try together to reduce energy costs of public lighting installations. With anima we provide you with a great luminaire to contribute to a more sustainable world.

Questions and answers around LED lighting What is an LED? An LED, which stands for Light Emitting Diode English, is a semiconductor device that emits monochromatic light when polarized and is crossed by an electric current. LEDs have been in place for decades in our homes, vehicles and many electronic devices. Currently, LED technology has evolved to the point of being able to offer lighting solutions with energy efficiency higher than that of high pressure sodium vapor lamps. Are LEDs suitable for street lighting? 3DLed® technology by Salvi M.A.Group, use high-power Leds that make the optical unit using a mathematical algorithm. By directing the flow of each LED light in the precise directions, we achieve a light distribution and efficiency better to that of any premium road type luminaire. Can white LED light luminaires replace current luminaires? Many white LEDs transmit light at 5500K and above with CRI between 60 and 70. Salvi M.A.Group is working with state of the art LEDs and much more comfortable colour temperature ranging from 3000 to 5000ºK and colour rendering values of CRI ≥ 80, similar to those of metal halide with ceramic technology. Are LEDs more efficient? The directional nature of the light emitted by an LED allows greater control of light, using 3DLed technology results in increased overall efficiency of the luminaire. The residual losses are lower than those of conventional luminaires. Why LED modules do not provide a good performance on conventional lighting? A large number of LED modules in the market can be integrated physically in the current lighting. However, current designs are not prepared to control the light emitted by the LED and much less, to dissipate the heat emitted. Consequently, conventional luminaires do not provide the result that the LED technology can offer.
What is junction temperature? Considered the most important factor in the life and performance of the LEDs, is the temperature at the bonding point of each diode. Mainly there are 3 factors that directly affect the junction temperature: the ambient temperature, the design of the luminaire and electronics. Low junction temperatures contribute favorably to maintain the performance of the fixture during its lifetime. Similarly, contribute to prolong the life of the product. Have all LEDs a lifespan of 70.000h? Depending upon the manufacturer, working temperature, lifespan values range from 5.000h. up to 70.000 h. The LEDs used in anima have a lifespan in excess 70.000h. at 350mA. What is lifespan? It is the time during which the luminous flux is over 70% of the original. The values range between 5,000 and 70,000 h. How much is 70.000 h? The street lighting is run 4300h every year, so a 70.000h will account for 16.2 years at 100% power, but substantially more for dimmed luminaires. Lum. working hours/day

How temperature affects LED efficiency? Luminaires with LED technology must have dissipation at the core of its design. In general, the LEDs are working on a fairly large temperature range. However, improper heat dissipation will cause a major decline in the life of the LEDs. Freezing temperatures hardly affect the performance of the LEDs.
