SHARED CONCEPT

CHALLENGES

OBJECTIVES

CONNECTION:

Lack of connection between cultural or tourist spaces.

Reinforce agriculture importance

The main strategy is to turn Central Coloso into a tourist - cultural district, developing a pedestrian and cycling path that connects the new district with street #417 which is the main street toward the town of Aguada. In support of the main strategy we also propose to renovate the Old Coloso way for vehicular access from #417 street. We intend to build a community that is constantly inspired by culture and agriculture; what better way than with education and agrotourism.

Lacks gathering spaces

entertainment

Preserve the historical industrial aesthetics of Central Coloso.

Lack of a continuous sidewalk and of a designed bike path

Turn Coloso into a cultural and tourist district preserving its agriculture character.

IDEA

Why?

The idea is to preserve the industrial aesthetics and the agricultural characteristic of the area. Making a structure that works like a machine, this through aquaponic research. Which not only produces, but also educates its visitors (agritourism). Forming a new focal point, not only historical, but also cultural-tourist; that the area already possessed. Increasing access to the area and promoting a new tourism to the town.

Bernard Tshumi

Inspired by the landscapes of Burle Marx and to give direction and relate in landscape terms with the natural environment and Central Coloso; the floor of the structure is designed with patterns and green spaces.

Industrial style that plays and contrasts with the landscape forming a landmark.

FRAGMENTATION:

Why?

Acuatic exhibition According to J.M. Montaner, fragmentation“ consists of regrouping the fragmentation and dispersion of objects in a new mega-object, which is a postmodern object, a three dimensional collage that includes a great diversity of objects. ”

CENTRE POMPIDOU Architect:

Also the architect mention that to achieve the fragmentation, color is usually used in these cases with the intention of identifying the unequal nature of each of the units that make up these architectures. The color distinguishes and separates the fragments, indicates that they have different characteristics or origins.
