GMA Network Offers Free Basic TV Drama Workshop
T
his year, GMA Network’s Entertainment Group offers a free basic TV drama scriptwriting workshop which is centered on soapopera writing. The workshop is open to all male and female Filipinos, 18 to 35 years old, at least high school graduate and may or may not be currently employed. If employed, current employer must not be in the same business as GMA. He/she must have a flexible schedule, with or without professional experience in TV writing, willing to go through interview and diagnostic tests and has a strong command of both Filipino and English language.
Application period is from June 10 to July 10, 2019. Interested applicants are required to send their complete registration form at www.gmanetwork.com/DramaWriting. They must also submit their own dramatic scene of at least 2 characters, written in script format of not more than 2 pages with their own choice of situation, mood, tone, or theme. Mcoy Fundales Sets Music Comeback with AltG Records He will be releasing a new single entitled “Bakit Kita Hahabulin?” written by Kian Dionisio. The singer-songwriter describes the song as a modern kundiman that will surely tug the listeners’ heartstrings.

ormer ‘Orange and Lemons’ vocalist Mcoy Fundales is officially back in the music scene as he inked a contract with AltG Records last May 24. After almost a decade since his last song, Mcoy confessed that his passion for creating music never left him.
Mcoy shared, “Tuloy ang tawag ng musika. I decided to answer back so I started recording this single. Palagay ko I’ll be doing this again kasi feel ko na ulit. I tried listening sa radio recently before I decided to record this song. Wala akong narinig na ganitong klase ngayon na kanta. Tama lang ilabas ito ngayon as another option for the listeners.”

MA Network remained to be the viewers’ preferred channel in Urban Luzon according to the latest data from ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement. For the month of May (with May 26 to 31 based on overnight data), GMA registered an average total day people audience share of 36.3 percent, beating ABS-CBN’s 30.7 percent in Urban Luzon, which accounts for 72 percent of all urban TV viewers in the country. Per day part, GMA posted 29.3 percent audience share in the morning block while its rival network only got 23.8 percent. The Kapuso Network continued to lead in the afternoon block with 36.2 percent audience share, versus ABS-CBN’s 32.7 percent. GMA Network won in the evening block as well with 39.5 percent as against competition’s 32.2 percent.
Kapuso shows likewise ruled the list of top-rating programs in Urban Luzon for the month of May with Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS) again securing the number one spot. The award-winning magazine show similarly remained as the most watched program in National Urban Philippines. GMA Network also maintained its dominance in Mega Manila, which accounts for 60 percent of all urban viewers in the country. Based on official data from May 1 to 25, GMA registered an average total day people audience share of 38 percent outscoring ABS-CBN’s 27.8 percent. In the list of toprating programs in Mega Manila, 22 out of the top 30 shows were from GMA.

MA Network’s “Eleksyon 2019: The GMA News and Public Affairs Special Coverage”was the top news source during the 2019 Midterm Elections. Overall, the Kapuso Network’s special coverage from May 13 to 14 recorded an average people rating of 3.2 percent in the National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM), winning against ABS-CBN’s Halalan 2019, which only got 2.8 percent.

Jumpstarting weekday mornings is veteran anchorman Melo del Prado with the freshest news of the day on Melo Del Prado sa Super Radyo at 6 a.m. GMA News Pillar Mike Enriquez and Joel Reyes Zobel deliver the biggest news stories and latest news updates on Super Balita sa Umaga Nationwide at 7 a.m. Mike later on provides the public with more information about the issues at hand through interviews with key personalities on

GMA Network Chief Risk Officer and First Vice President for Corporate Strategic Planning and Program Support Regie C. Bautista and Assistant Vice President for Creative Services Eduardo B. Garcia once again join an exclusive group composed of the industry’s most accomplished executives, creatives, and production professionals tasked to decide and recognize the finest work in television and promotion marketing. Bautista supervises GMA’s corporate strategic planning including multi-platform marketing promotions, creative services, media and on-air continuity, and digital media divisions. Through her vision and leadership, the Network’s Program Support GMA Network Chief Risk Department has received Officer and First Vice numerous recognitions and President for Corporate Strategic Planning and accolades from both local and Program Support Regie international award-giving C. Fil-Canadians celebrate Philippine Independence Day with Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes

MA Network’s flagship international channel GMA Pinoy TV brings Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes to headline the back-to-back celebrations of the 121st Philippine Independence Day in Canada. On June 22, Dingdong will join the festivities with the Kapuso abroad at the “Pinoy Fiesta and Trade Show Toronto,” which will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre Hall. From various performances featuring local talents, Santacruzan parades, beauty pageants, to
colourful booths with over 100 FilipinoCanadian exhibitors, the whole-day event showcases Filipino culture, arts, heritage, and charity.

The annual community celebration is the biggest indoor Filipino fiesta in Canada and is organized by the Philippine Canadian Charitable Foundation (PCCF). Following the Toronto festivities, Dingdong will head to Vancouver on June 29 for “Pista ng Bayan 2019” organized by the United Filipino-Canadian Associations in British Columbia (UFCABC). The event will also mark the first Canada-wide commemoration of the Filipino Heritage Month. Set to happen at the Vancouver Art Gallery beginning 10 a.m., this year’s theme is ‘Philippines: Islands of Festival’ where Filipino-Canadians will get to enjoy three major Philippine festivals, fashion shows, and a gala night to cap off the event. Admission is FREE.
