More and more people have turned to biking not only for exercise, but as a main mode of transportation. Here are the answers from our Kapuso bikers:

Kapuso Magazine (KM): Why do you ride a bike? What are the benefits of biking?

John Christian Damasco (Printshop admin)

HS: I bike because it’s fun and gives me joy. You feel part of your surroundings. It also keeps me fit. The benefits of biking are many: it’s healthy for the body, for the soul and for the planet. Another benefit for me is it enables me to influence others to also bike, keep fit and tread lightly on the earth. Commuting by bike does not pollute the air in any way.

KM: Why do you ride a bike? What are the benefits of biking? Minsan hassle kasi.

KM: Do you bike going to the office? If yes, how often and why? HS: I bike to GMA from 2-5 days a week when I’m in Manila. I bike to work because it’s a great way of starting my day: it’s fun and challenging, forces me to be alert and wide awake, and makes me fit. Every ride is different; I notice something new every day, which gives me ideas. I also want to be an example for others. When I go out of town or the country, I look for bikes to borrow or rent. Many of my shoots and stories have involved biking. KM: What advice would you give to the public re biking?

KM: Do you bike going to the office? If yes, how often and why? JCD: Yes po. Hirap makipagsiksikan eh. Mas mabilis pag mula sa bahay hanggang dito, 20-30 minutes lang KM: What advice would you give to the public re biking?

HS: Assert your right to the road, but be careful, follow rules, and be respectful of others, especially pedestrians, the elderly and children. Be a good example to others.

Joel Rigor (Message Center) KM: Why do you ride a bike? What are the benefits of biking? KM: Do you bike going to the office? If yes, how often and why? KM: What advice would you give to the public re biking?

Roberto “Bobby” Cuerdo (Message Center) KM: Why do you ride a bike? What are the benefits of biking? KM: Do you bike going to the office? If yes, how often and why? RC: Opo. Sa pagba-bike malaki kasi natitipid tsaka malaking tulong sa sarili. KM: What advice would you give to the public re biking?

JR: Sana maging alerto pag nasa kalsada.
