Mike Peña

Sun and fun for director of pool operations While Mike Peña did most of his growing up in Las Vegas, the first time he saw the inside of a nightclub was the first night he started his job as a server assistant at Wynn’s Surrender nightclub. “I had gone from never setting foot inside a nightclub to being the general manager of a club that I first started my career at.”

After spending six years at Surrender and Encore Beach Club, Peña went on to help launch nightclub On the Record at Park MGM and dayclub Kaos at Palms. Asked about how he moved up so fast in an industry known for finding success, in part because it’s about who you know, Peña says, “It’s the willingness to grind. To show up, not complain and get the job done and bust your ass and work hard.

OK! It’s time to release a little tension. While you’re here, you’ll see social distancing measures, such as slot machines not being available next to each other, congregating behind people not allowed, limited players at tables and plexiglass between dealers and players. You may need to step away if you need to smoke. Casinos are required to disinfect items needed for play, such as chips, cards, balls and dice.

Although venues may differ, most will implement 25-foot spacing between performers and audience members and space between each party to encourage social distancing. Masks are mandatory. There is a limit to the number of people allowed in the venue, per current Nevada rules.

Most restaurants require reservations, and will text or call when the table is ready. Wear your mask until reaching the table. Tables have 6 feet between them.
