NOTES
From the Editor Your New Home?
I want to float a proposal to all the tourists reading this week’s edition of Las Vegas Magazine: Consider buying a home here. Our real estate market is currently thriving, spurred no doubt by the arrival of the National Football League and the Raiders, but also because our city has still so much untapped potential. The future looks bright here, and America is starting to take notice. If you do decide you want to take a look while you’re here, we’ve created a section that might be of some use: LVing, which we started last year to introduce our visitors to the Las Vegas real estate market. Its highlights over the last year have included everything from affordable suburban housing to the ridiculously opulent (and expensive) home of Steve Wynn. This week’s feature (“Live Life to the Fullest,” p. 30) is a new listing in a 55-and-over community, in addition to an introduction to a notable personality in the Las Vegas housing market, Uri Vaknin. Happy hunting! Most of you, however, are no doubt here to just get busy enjoying the city’s myriad entertainment venues, restaurants, lounges, attractions and more. Don’t worry: We haven’t forgotten about you. This week’s issue contains resources for a variety of scenarios, including those searching for a new cocktail experience (“9 Places to Enjoy
a Drink Outside,” p. 20), those who come to Las Vegas with children (“Family-Friendly Vegas,” p. 24), and those staying near the intersection of Flamingo and Las Vegas Boulevard South—the focus of our ongoing “Day Planner” series (“Squeeze It All In,” p. 26). If you haven’t yet discovered the downtown hot spot Circa Resort & Casino, make that part of this week’s itinerary—you won’t regret it. And be sure to check out this week’s feature on Circa’s creator, Derek Stevens, who’s helped to redefine the hospitality industry in Sin City (“Big Plans That Paid Off,” p. 22). Another downtown must-visit venue is the Lucky Day Mezcal & Tequila House in the Fremont Street East district, and we introduce you to the property’s bar manager, Asa Eubanks, in this week’s “Friends With Benefits” section ( p. 16). Stop by and say hello! Elsewhere in this issue, we highlight some of the city’s finest dining insitutions, including Ping Pang Pong at Gold Coast (“Winsome Dim Sum,” p. 7), Bardot Brasserie at Aria (“As the French Do,” p. 8), and The Steak House at Circus Circus (“FirstClass Experience,” p. 12). From its housing market to its entertainment options, Las Vegas is getting more exciting all the time.

Once that craving comes on, it’s time to hit up Ping Pang Pong, arguably one of the top Chinese restaurants in the city. Here, you’ll find a satiating lunchtime dim sum that will quell your mid-day hunger, but the restaurant
also serves a variety of authentic Chinese. Some plates you’ll want to share include the honey-glazed barbecue pork or the butterflied walnut prawns. As the French Do Feel French and eat French food inside Michael Mina’s gorgeous, Parisian-designed Bardot Brasserie restaurant. Dishes here are rich and full-bodied, definitely for the adventurous eater. Start with escargot en croute—perfectly cooked, covered in absinthe butter and enveloped in puff pastry; or opt for the popular prime steak tartare, USDA prime filet topped with egg yolk and sauce verte and served with potato chips. Entrées include the French classic steak frites, and guests can choose from cuts like filet mignon, flat iron and a double-cut ribeye. Juicy and tender poulet roti (roasted chicken) is served with a mushroom bread pudding, and the loup de mer Basquaise (roasted sea bass) gets a spicy kick from a chorizo broth. Vegetarians can delight in the gnocchi Parisienne, perfectly cooked pasta dumplings blanketed in acorn squash, pomegranate and sage. A must-order side dish is the macaroni and mimolette gratinée. End the meal with another French-fare classic, the vanilla crème brûlée, made with Madagascar vanilla bean and served with fresh raspberries. Bon appetit! –Kiko Miyasato Aria, 877.230.2742

Montecristo also offers one of the most impressive cocktail menus on the Strip—a mix of classics and specialty cocktails like the Monte Sidecar, a mix of Hennessy V.S. cognac, Cointreau, lemon juice, simple syrup, egg whites and cinnamon with a sugar rim. With more than 200 stores, kiosks and restaurants to visit, spending a whole day shopping is a definite possibility at Fashion Show. What’s in a Year?
Entertainer spotlights his 2020 experiences in live show One of the most versatile and accomplished entertainers in today’s Vegas scene is back onstage this week. Eric Jordan Young, a singer, dancer, actor, choreographer and producer who has appeared in Las Vegas in Rock of Ages, Starlight Express and more, and on Broadway in Chicago, Ragtime the Musical and Seussical, will perform his own original In This Moment at The Space, a theater just off the Strip at Polaris and Harmon, on March 13 at 6 p.m. If you can’t get tickets at thespacelv.com, you can livestream the show there. “I chose to name it In This Moment because I didn’t know what the moment would be,” Young says. “March 13 is one year to the day that I was laid off and … that was a pretty jarring day, so I wanted to do something that would encompass all the different shows I did during the year.” His year of performance included virtual shows and live showcases with celebrated pianist Philip Fortenberry, who will join Young at the Space this week. Young was directing a cruise line production of Footloose last year when so many things were shut down to fight the spread of COVID-19. Like so many of his peers in the Las Vegas entertainment industry, he has managed to stay creative and soldier on during a dark period, and has come to think of his career and artistry in a different way with extra time to reflect. “I’m still swimming in that pool of … what do I want to do and what is important to me,” he says. “I don’t think I could ever stop performing. There’s a satisfaction I get when I’m able to share my voice and my body as a dancer and actor that is kind of like a wonderful high. But I also find that in being a director and choreographer as well. “I’m just hoping the future brings a lot of that. I want to continue to build shows and do projects and collaborate with people on that level.” –Brock Radke

Dog and Dragon Show The first thing you’ll probably notice about John van der Put is his costume—I mean, how could you possibly miss it? Bedecked head to toe in green and wearing a knowing smirk, he looks like a disgruntled member of the Muppets. Of course, once you actually hear Piff the Magic Dragon speak, it becomes a whole different story. You’re not listening to a guy in a strange suit; you’re enjoying a magician who makes nonstop jokes about how much he loves gold and fair maidens, all with the most deadpan lilt. Within a few seconds, you are under his spell. Whether it’s magic, comedy or a combination of both, you’re more than happy to spend an hour with this medieval, mercurial madman. He’s back performing with Mr. Piffles, his tiny dog that’s ever-present in everything Piff does onstage, whether it’s interacting with the audience or performing an illusion. It’s a welcome return for one of the Strip’s most unique and memorable performers, who now famously refers to himself as “The Loser of America’s Got Talent.” If you know anything about Piff, you’ll know that’s a title he’s extremely proud of. –Ken MIller
First-Class Experience You come to Vegas for the glitz and glam, sure, but sometimes you just want the meat and potatoes—a classic experience with no frills and no gimmicks. In addition, acrylic glass shield protectors are used in every vehicle, and all high-touch surfaces and highly trafficked areas (like the clubhouse, cars and back-of-house areas) are constantly sanitized. In addition, all cars are driven with the windows down to ensure a constant supply of fresh air.
The fun continues on the facility’s custom-built, 1.4-mile dirt track, the only one of its kind in Las Vegas. This week, the Vegas Golden Knights are out of town. So if you came here thinking you might catch a game after hearing news that T-Mobile Arena is welcoming back guests, you’re out of luck. But if you still want to cheer on the Knights, or your team of choice, you’re going to want to grab a seat at The Still, one of Vegas’ premier sports bars. With their wide range of beers, stadium-style bites and nearly 30 high-def televisions, it’s the perfect spot to relax and watch a game. As previously mentioned, the beer menu is huge, offering more than 50 brews. A crisp and refreshing Corona with a lime wedge might satisfy you as the weather continues to warm, but if you’re looking for something bolder, go for the New Holland Dragon’s Milk bourbon barrel stout. Then dig into the food. Quita’s spicy fries are drizzled in spicy aioli, furikake seasoning and micro cilantro, while prime steak tip skewers are served with a delicious homemade A1 butter. Other bar favorites grace the menu, such as beer-battered fish and chips, cheeseburger sliders and a variety of street tacos. For something sweet, order the drool-worthy deepfried Oreos. –Alex Haase
Maybe a Massage? If you’re asking yourself what you could do to make your vacation even more relaxing, we have an answer for you. At Qua Baths & Spa, you can indulge in facials with microdermabrasion and anti-aging serums applied to the skin, get a manicure or get a fresh cut and color through Color Salon. But the massages might just be the ultimate for relaxation here. Those treatments run the gamut from restorative options that use essential oils to help relax you, to
deep-tissue massages that really work on your tight muscles. The classic massage uses Swedish techniques and scented massage lotions in fragrances like orange blossom, lavender and vanilla. And the stone aromatherapy massages may be your best bet for total relaxation, with essential oil fragrance all around, and the stones acting a bit like those weighted blankets. Tequila and mezcal are his passion Are you a lover of tequila or mezcal? Do you want to become a lover of tequila or mezcal? Then we implore you to get over to the new Lucky Day Mezcal & Tequila House in the famed Fremont Street East district downtown—and the man you’re going to want to see is bar manager Asa Eubanks. Growing up in a small town in Texas, Eubanks moved to Las Vegas when he was 19 years old and entered the food and beverage industry on the Strip, starting out as a busser for PBR Rock Bar & Grill at Miracle Mile Shops. He slowly worked his way up the ladder, from busser, food runner and server to barback and bartender, eventually moving into his first management position at now-shuttered hot spot Casa Del Matador in Downtown Summerlin, known for its huge tequila selection. “When I was working at Matador, it was my first week managing, and this guy asked about a tequila that I didn’t know, and he made fun
of me for not knowing. I vowed right then that never again am I ever going to be stumped about tequila,” Eubanks says. “I took that moment and turned it around to learn.” Today, after years of studying everything about the two spirits, Eubanks would call himself a tequila and mezcal expert; in fact, one of his favorite parts of the job is teaching and talking with guests about the spirits. And Lucky Day has become the hot spot to experience the magic of tequila and mezcal. “Lucky Day is like walking into a secret, you can’t really judge it from the outside,” Eubanks says. “But when you walk into this place, you feel like you’re walking into Mexico—like a secret lounge. Everything about this place is unique, even our cocktails.” And those cocktails? Thank Eubanks—he created all the recipes on the menu. “It will always be tequila and mezcal for me, making the drinks, creating the flavors, being creative.” –Kiko Miyasato

Nightlife Begins to Return
Caesars Palace venue opens terrace for evening revelry Can you believe that Las Vegas nightlife and its megaclubs have lain dormant for more than a year? Yup, when the pandemic hit, nightlife was one of the hardest-hit industries—and the most missed by visitors and locals alike. However, now that we’re moving in the right direction as a city, (heck, even the country), nightlife and its titans are slowly—and carefully and safely—coming back to life, and that includes nightlife behemoth Omnia at Caesars Palace. The opulent club isn’t fully opening, but on March 5 it reopens its expansive terrace and will operate as a lounge. Guests 21 and over will have a place to chill come Friday and Saturday, beginning at 10:30 p.m. and going late into the night.

This outdoor space has some of the best views of any lounge in the city—sweeping vistas of the Las Vegas Strip. The backdrop is a neon-lit paradise, perfect for those selfie moments. The space is also lit from LED strips embedded in the flooring and walls, which gives the terrace a cool, high-tech vibe. Etched-glass light fixtures and cantilevered lampposts also add to the ambience, lighting up the evening in a romantic way. For extra privacy, guests can book one of the many cabanas set up in a tiered position throughout the terrace; VIP tables are also available and spaced out for added safety. Speaking of continued safety, Omnia will offer a touchless menu system. Guests can scan a QR
code from their cell phones, and the menu—filled with cocktails and bottle service options—will pull up for ordering options. A rigorous cleaning plan has also been put into place. In a statement, Omnia’s operators, the Hakkasan Group, said they have been preparing extensively under guidance from public health experts to develop a plan to make the venue safe for visitors. All guests must make a reservation in order to get into Omnia; and they might be in demand, so get yours soon. And let’s get back to some sense of nightlife normalcy … however that looks these days. –Kiko Miyasato Caesars Palace, reservations 702.785.6200 or omnianightclub.com

Circa Resort & Casino owner Derek Stevens is building a lasting legacy in Las Vegas By Brock Radke | Photography by Christopher DeVargas
Downtown Las Vegas casino owner and developer Derek Stevens cemented his legacy as an innovative force in the city’s unique history on Oct. 28. That’s when Circa Resort & Casino made its debut on the historic corner of Fremont and Main streets, the first brand-new casino resort in the downtown area in decades. But it wasn’t just the latest property to open and generate fresh excitement for Las Vegas visitors. Circa is the culmination of what Stevens—a Michigan native, huge sports fan and aficionado of the classic Vegas experience—has learned from his experiences acquiring and operating the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino; purchasing another downtown property, Fitzgeralds, and renovating it into The D Casino & Hotel on the opposite end of the Fremont Street Experience; and developing the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center and his own Circa|Sports betting operation. And now that Stevens and his team have cleared the initial Circa casino opening and the follow-up hotel tower opening two months later, he has taken time to assess how things are going, what it meant to many people to create something new in Las Vegas during the challenges of the

pandemic, and how he can further enhance this bold new experience. “Opening in two phases really helped us out a bit and allowed us to focus on the different elements at Circa,” he says. “It’s been fun to see how Garage Mahal would work, how the Stadium Swim product would work, and the world’s largest sportsbook has been cool. In October, everyone came in and was so excited, you could feel their energy. They had smiles behind the masks. “Then, on Dec. 28 we opened the hotel tower and the rooftop Legacy Club, and that was a whole other process with people not just visiting but staying with us for the first time. It’s been pretty uplifting to see how excited people are, not just to visit with us but to come to Las Vegas as a whole. It’s been pretty dramatic.” Dramatic is a great way to describe the Legacy Club, a refined bar and lounge on Circa’s 60th floor with unbelievable panoramic views of the valley. Stevens says he knew it would be a popular and striking destination, but he underestimated its romantic potential. “I’ve been up there a lot and I’m personally aware of four proposals that have
happened so far at Legacy Club,” he says. “To think that this is the location people are choosing to propose, that’s an honor. To see a guy going down on one knee and giving his girlfriend a ring at our place is so cool.” Another highlight has been celebrating the Super Bowl throughout the property, which is rich in sports-viewing spots beyond the obvious sportsbook and outdoor pool complex furnished with a 40-foot-tall, hi-
def screen. Stevens has also been surprised at the popularity of Stadium Swim at night. “I felt very comfortable that Stadium Swim was going to work and people would love being outdoors and getting some sunshine, but people also love renting cabanas once the sun sets and coming out to watch a game,” he says. “Evening bookings have been far ahead of our expectations.” Circa has been universally well-received, and
things can only get better from here, especially considering that pandemic restrictions are loosening up and entertainment programming along the Fremont Street Experience is expected to resume soon. That will enable Circa to better connect with Golden Gate, The D and its other downtown neighbors, hopefully building some exciting new energy, Stevens says.
“That energy along Fremont Street is going be something once we get those bands back onstage and the other entertainment comes back,” he says. “And when the shutdown happened, we had this hidden gem at The D that hasn’t been tapped yet, and we’re excited to see how it comes along, and that’s Bar Canada. It’s in the sportsbook and it turned into a pretty cool little hangout we never got to present properly.”

Extravaganza—The Vegas Spectacular
LAS VEGAS HAS CHANGED plenty in the last year, as everyone by now knows. But its reputation for family-friendly fun remains intact, and there are options available for groups large and small. We’ve rounded up two options each for various areas of family entertainment; you’re sure to find at least one thing the whole gang can agree on (and if you can’t, well that just means you’ll have to do both!).

If it’s a show you want to take the entire gang to for some G-rated fun, check out Tape Face at Harrah’s and Extravaganza— The Vegas Spectacular at Bally’s. If you’ve ever watched America’s Got Talent with your kids at home and wanted to see some of those performers in Las Vegas, now’s your chance. Tape Face, a finalist on AGT, currently performs in the Harrah’s Showroom, a larger venue than his House of Tape that allows for a larger audience (due to social distancing guidelines, showrooms can only operate at a fraction of capacity). And Extravaganza, performed in the enormous Jubilee Theater, includes among its enormous cast Silvia Silvia, well-known to AGT audiences for her amazing crossbow skills.
How about some arcade fun? Choose between either The Fun Dungeon at Excalibur, a large arcade area with just about every game imaginable, or the Big Apple Arcade at New York-New York, an adjunct to the Big
Pole Position Raceway
Apple Coaster (an adrenaline-filled ride with height restrictions). You don’t need to ride the coaster to enjoy this attraction, but odds are at least a few of your kids will be pulling on your coat, begging for “just one ride!”
By far the best family activities are the competitive type, from adrenaline-fueled
excitement like Pole Position Raceway, where you get to race against your family in souped-up, electric vehicles (again, height restrictions apply), to more relaxed but still entertaining challenges like Twilight Zone by Monster Mini Golf at Bally’s, a mixture of creative courses and the creepy atmosphere of Rod Serling’s classic television series. Whether you use that score card or not, you’ll quickly lose track of time here.

Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat
Love animals? Head to either Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay or Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage. You’ll see aquatic denizens galore at the aquarium (sorry, the touch tank is currently closed), and the Secret Garden gives your kids an up-close-and-personal look at the tigers that used to be used in the legendary magic duo’s show, as well as several generations of dolphins. Get the camera ready; you’ll be using it plenty.

ets and reservations early is a must, even though they are not always required. (Some venues are not open or offer limited hours and menus on weekdays.) 8 a.m.: Hit Sadelle’s at Bellagio for breakfast. The bagels are fab and the coffee’s not bad, either! 9:30-10:30 a.m.: After filling your belly, it’s a grand idea to tour the conservatory, which is filled with fabulous floral creations arranged around a central theme. Year after year, it gets better and better. The spring exhibit here opens on March 13 (it’s closed through March 12). Take your time, and

snap all the selfies you want. A one-way flow through the exhibit makes sure no one jumps in front of your camera. Once you are done, amble toward the front entrance for a stroll around the placid lake and use the pedestrian bridge to cross Flamingo Road to Caesars Palace’s Roman Plaza. 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: First order of business in the Roman Plaza: Grab a selfie with the huge photo of Gordon Ramsay. Then head into the casino for a bit of gaming before lunch at Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips, where you’ll indulge in those fish and chips and
a Boddingtons, a mellow beer perfect for midday. Depending on the time, you may be able to squeeze in some retail therapy at The Forum Shops (you could probably spend a whole day there, TBH). 1:30-4 p.m.: It’s off to the Linq Promenade for a revolution in the High Roller. The High Roller observation wheel makes one full revolution every half hour and gets you up 550 feet in the air. From your pod, you get views in all directions of the Las Vegas Strip and city- and mountain-scapes beyond. 4-5:30 p.m.: Take advantage of happy hour at Tequila Taqueria at Bally’s, where you’ll find drink specials (sangria!) and snacks for a reduced price. 5:30-7 p.m.: Get thyself back to your room for a short nap (20 minutes is a perfect refresher) before dinner. 7-9 p.m.: Dinner at Giada at The Cromwell is always neat, with a fresh, pretty décor throughout and large windows curving around the dining room, allowing for a perfect view of the Bellagio fountains. The menu features California-influenced Italian dishes like cacio e pepe bucatini and veal chop saltimbocca. Do try to end with the lemon-ricotta cookies though: They’re so yummy. 9 p.m.-midnight: Put your luck to the test. Head to your hotel, try a few penny machines and a few beverages. Winning? Better try a few max bets; you never know when you’ll get a jackpot spin.

Less Is More Tiny houses aren’t the only homes where residents should maximize space. The shift toward a less-is-more mentality is continuing on into 2020 as home buyers seek to increase space and decrease clutter via both multipurpose furnishings and design elements. Features like modernized Murphy beds that can be tucked away and furniture including storage benches can bring multifunctional spaces to life with minimal effort. A playroom by day can become an entertaining space with just a bit of creative cabinetry. –AD EXPERT LOOK

Tile With Style Hardwood floors were once the coveted amenity in a home. While hardwoods are still beautiful, modern builders and renovators are opting for tile, including tile that looks like hardwoods. Get the beauty without the fuss. Wood plank tile floors are durable, easier to clean and maintain. Ideal for the hot Vegas temperatures that can dry out and crack wood, tile is the less-stress flooring option you need to consider. –AD
“Real estate has been in my blood,” says Uri Vaknin, owner and investor of a condominium portfolio in Las Vegas, and partner in private equity firm KRE Capital. “I grew up in real estate. My uncle was a property owner and developer … and when I was a kid, I used to spend the summers helping him out.” After years in real estate on the East Coast, Vaknin brought his talents to Las Vegas to work with high-rise condos in the KRE Capital portfolio, including The Ogden and Juhl in Downtown Las Vegas and One Las Vegas on the south Strip. One amenity Vaknin cannot stress enough is the swimming pool. “In Las Vegas, the pool is your second living room,” he said. “When people look to buy a condo in Las Vegas, they want a fabulous pool. The first thing we did when we bought these buildings was really enhance the pool. At One Las Vegas, the whole concept was an oasis in the desert.” With resort-style amenities like that, Vaknin shrewdly points out now is the time to buy because, “Compared to other major markets like California and New York, we are still an unbelievable value. You can buy a giant three-bedroom condo for what you would pay for a studio or one-bedroom in any of those markets.” –Allison Duck

Las Vegas. All casinos opening in Las Vegas were
healthy. Guidelines issued by the Nevada Gaming
required to submit their plan for reopening to the
Commission have been implemented, with every-
commission. Here’s what you can expect to see, and
thing from casinos to guest rooms covered, so you
what’s been done to make your experience safer.
You may notice some guests (including yourself) headed straight to the elevators. That’s because contactless check-in is no longer a thing of the future. At MGM Resorts International properties, check in on your phone when you get close to the resort, and you’ll be able to pay and get a digital key. You can also check in with a contactless option on a kiosk and a more traditional front-desk option. Caesars Entertainment has rearranged front-desk areas and lines to accommodate social distancing, and provides hand sanitizer. Some hotels also have plexiglass installed at the front desk.
Hand sanitizer, everywhere! Every hotel that reopens is required to have stations for hand sanitizing throughout. MGM Resorts’ properties even offer new handwashing stations. You’ll notice that employees are masked and, if their job requires it, gloved. This goes for those employees you see and those who labor behind the scenes, in restaurants, loading docks and other areas. Those employees undergo a health self-screening daily and most are also screened for temperature.
There may be a line, as guests are being asked to maintain adequate spacing between groups and to try to ride with their own party, or ride with fewer people. Employees often clean and sanitize the buttons and commonly touched areas inside the cars, and clean escalator rails.
Feel good in knowing your room has been thoroughly sanitized. Surfaces have been wiped down; and linens and towels completely changed out. You’ll probably find extra towels in your room, and can always request more if needed. You may not find little bottles of amenities but amenities are still available. Housekeeping and other guest services may not be entering your room unless requested, and at some hotels, won’t be entering during your stay.
Many venues have plexiglass at payment stations, and marks to encourage social distancing while waiting. In addition, fewer patrons may be allowed in at one time.

OK! It’s time to release a little tension, and maybe win a few bucks. Go grab some cash, and head to the floor. While you’re here, you’ll see a variety of measures being taken to increase social distancing, such as slot machines not being available right next to each other, congregating behind each other not allowed, a limited number of players at the tables and plexiglass partitions between dealers and players. You may be asked to step away from the game if you remove your mask to smoke. Casinos are required to have a plan to disinfect all the items needed to play, such as chips, cards, balls and dice.
Although venues may differ, most will implement 25-foot spacing between performers and audience members and space between each party to encourage social distancing. Masks are mandatory. There is a limit to the number of people allowed in the venue, per current Nevada rules.
Most restaurants require reservations, although not all. Many will text or call when your table is ready, saving you the hassle of waiting in line. You’re required to wear your face mask until you reach your table. It may feel much more intimate, as tables have 6 feet between them and the number of customers is fewer. Menus may be digital or one-time use paper menus. At some restaurants, permanent menus are sanitized between each use. Condiments won’t simply be stored on the table, and are sanitized between customers. Bars will also be spacing patrons’ parties 6 feet apart.
.36. 3.7.21 6.14.20 LAS LAS VEGAS VEGAS MAGAZINE MAGAZINE
Although the number of attractions in Vegas isn’t as high as a few months ago, sanitation is still high on those that are open, and social distancing is easily seen. For instance, on New York-New York’s Roller Coaster, cars are loaded with the same party, and alternate cars will be empty.
One of the best ways is to check-out on the TV in your room, and hotels have been using this option for many years now. Look at your bill, OK it if all is correct, and get a copy emailed to you. If you have a physical key, most hotels will allow you to leave it in the room. Some hotels have check-out kiosks that are sanitized often.
While you’re here in Las Vegas, there are several things you can do to help keep yourself well and decrease the chances of you or someone else getting sick. Give yourself a self-check before you arrive. Do you have a fever? A cough? Is your sense of smell normal? You must now wear your mask in public areas, including the casino. It helps stem the spread of potentially deadly viruses like
COVID-19. It’s also considerate of fellow guests and resort workers.

You’ll notice hand sanitizer stations. Give yourself a squirt before and after playing slots or the tables, and anywhere it seems you might need it (after touching elevator buttons,

6 feet from people other than your travel companions whenever possible. Common places that lines form will often be marked, making this easy. Be patient—even though you are 6 feet apart, you’ll still be moving.
Practice social distancing. Stay
Try not to touch your face.
Periodically, wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, then rinse for 10 seconds. You may receive personal size bottles of hand sanitizer in your room. Take those with you and use whenever it’s not practical to wash, or a hand sanitizer station isn’t close.

Starters include the pan-seared scallops, a dish Ramsay is emphatic about chefs getting right (perfectly cooked, neither over nor under); golden beet salad; and lobster risotto (another one that the chef gets testy about). For your entrée, beef Wellington, possibly Ramsay’s most wellknown dish, is an easy choice, tender beef wrapped in puff pastry with mushroom duxelles and a potato purée beneath. –Nina King

Float On When The Venetian was built, its planners knew right away one element they could not do without: A replica of the Grand Canal in Venice. After all, without it, how would they replicate the gondola ride (The Venetian, 702.414.4300)? It’s arguably the most iconic, romantic experience one can enjoy as part of a trip to Italy. So it would have been sacrilege to not replicate it in Las Vegas. And very romantic it is! It’s still one of the most popular attractions in Las Vegas after more than 20 years (It received a Hall of Fame Honor from Las Vegas Magazine this year). But it’s not just couples—entire families can also be seen enjoying a song from their gondolier as their boat floats down the man-made waterways, snapping photos aplenty. This is one attraction you’ll want to experience more than once—there are both indoor and outdoor options available. –Ken Miller
