The history of nightlife in Las Vegas is a deep and rich one, going all the way back to the days of the Rat Pack at the Sands. Its evolution has been slow and steady, but always compelling. The last few decades have seen quantum leaps in the quality of not only nightlife venues, but the prestige of those performing at them. It’s safe to say that if you can name a huge name in EDM, they’ve performed any one of Vegas’ vast nightlife venues.
The newest player at the nightlife table is Resorts World Las Vegas and its Zouk Nightclub, which, in a very small amount of time, has become an essential part of the city’s entertainment landscape. But this feat doesn’t happen organically; it requires some serious behind-the-scenes talent to pull it all together. And this week’s issue of Las Vegas Magazine is dedicated to the heavy hitters who help keep the beats going late into the night. Associate editor Kiko Miyasato introduces you to the seven men who comprise the team behind Zouk’s success (“Magnificent Seven,” p. 32). As you’ll read, they’re as excited about the nightlife experience as their customers!
As important as nightlife is to Las Vegas, we haven’t ignored some of the other critical components that help make up your entertainment experience this week:
• Hungry? Check out our writeups on restaurants like The Boss Cafe by Buddy Valastro (“In the Neighborhood,” p. 16 ) and Matteo’s Ristorante Italiano at The Venetian, which recently reintroduced brunch (“It’s the Morning, People!” p. 28).
• Looking for some live entertainment? We’ve previewed Marc Anthony at Mandalay Bay (“In the Mood to Move,” p. 14), Earth, Wind & Fire at The Venetian (“We Remember!” p. 12) and Tom Segura at The Mirage (“Unexpected Turns,” p. 18).
Ready to party? We thought so.

We Remember!
Do you remember the 21st day of September? Then you like Earth Wind & Fire, and if you’re in the know you’re looking forward to the band’s return to its residency on the Strip for seven dates of soul and funk celebration. With Philip Bailey, Ralph Johnson and Verdine White at the helm after more than 50 years of expressing passion and positivity through the power of music, Earth, Wind & Fire remains a formidable force in the live music industry a decade after founder Maurice White left his earthly existence.
Earth, Wind & Fire started out in Maurice White’s dreams. A successful session drummer (his rolling drum fills can be heard on Fontella Bass classic “Rescue Me”), White had an aural blueprint for music that combined the best of rock, pop, soul, jazz and funk. He formed an embryonic version of Earth, Wind & Fire before recruiting his brother Verdine on bass, vocalist Bailey and percussionist Johnson. Many members would come and go, but that core remained intact through the decades.
They toured relentlessly, moving from student unions to A-list music festival California Jam by 1974, but a few elements had to be in place before superstardom. CBS executive Clive Davis took an interest, producer Charles Stepney came on board and Earth, Wind & Fire starred in and had recorded a soundtrack for a film. The band predicted That’s the Way of the World would be a box-office bomb (it was!) and arranged to have the soundtrack released several months before the film. It reached No. 1 on Billboard ’s Top 200 two months after its March 1975 release.
That album’s lead track, “Shining Star,” has been the opening song at recent Earth, Wind & Fire concerts, which can be deep dives down memory lane for boomers and danceable discoveries for zoomers. Setlist jams such as “Let’s Groove” and “Boogie Wonderland” were inescapable during the skate rink era of the ’70s and ’80s. “After the Love Has Gone” is pop music’s greatest contribution toward healing from heartbreak, and “September” stirs memories of block parties and barbecues with a lyric that led to the 21st day of that month being unofficially regarded as Earth, Wind & Fire Day by fans. –Matt Kelemen

In the Mood to Move
Marc Anthony can add another award to his collection after taking Best Tropical Album honors for Pa’lla Voy at last month’s Latin GRAMMYs ceremony. Anthony’s latest fulllength recording is a celebration of all things salsa, according to the singer, who added album track “Mala” to his summertime sets in Europe and opened recent shows in South America with the title track as he makes his way back to the States for domestic dates and a Thursday night show at Michelob Ultra Arena inside Mandalay Bay.
Anthony would be doing fans who come for the hits a favor if he adds Pa’lla Voy ’s “Gimme Some More” to his Marc Anthony Viviendo Tour. The song is an homage to “I Like It Like That,” first released in 1967 by Pete Rodriguez as a Latin-flavored boogaloo song during a year when the late salsa superstar Héctor Lavoe added vocals to Willie Colón’s album El Malo. That album became an international smash and was a ubiquitous sonic element in New York City’s Spanish Harlem when Anthony was born to Puerto Rican immigrants a year later.
Although Anthony was destined to become música tropical royalty, the music that was popular when he came of age was freestyle. He became in-demand as a session singer and formed a collaborative relationship with respected DJ Louie Vega before the lure of recording salsa became too strong to resist. By the time he released his fourth album, Contra la Corriente, in 1997, he was poised to ride the Latin music wave of the late ’90s and began scoring major hits such as the title track and “Y Hubo Alguien,” which have both been part of his sets this year.
His self-titled 1999 album was mostly recorded in English and became a crossover hit, while albums such as 2004’s Amar Sin Mentiras and 2013’s 3.0 would yield concert highlights “Valió la Pena” and “Vivir Mi Vida,” respectively. Anthony is less of a tabloid subject these days, eight years after his divorce from Jennifer Lopez, but the dance party energy released during his concerts hasn’t waned a bit. –Matt Kelemen

In the Neighborhood
When you grab a bite from The Boss Cafe by Buddy Valastro, you’re participating in a family enterprise. Many of the dishes are named after family mem bers, and family members are partners in the company and even work in the venue—Buddy Valastro’s father-in-law, Mauro Belgiovine, makes the mozzarella for the eatery fresh every day. (And boy, is it ever good!)
The intimate restaurant area is situated down a corridor near the parking
garage entrance, making it exceptionally convenient to stop in for breakfast or lunch. Boss Cafe is even open for an afternoon “happy hour,” where you’ll find menu items at discounted prices.
Some of your best bets here include Nonna Style Pizza Squares, a hefty, bakery-style portion served margheri ta-style or with thick-cut pepperoni, all the meats, or even with chicken Parm (you gotta see it). The Jersey Focaccia options are super inventive, with top-
pings like Ma’s Chicken Milanese and Jersey Roast Beef.
Like any good deli, there are plenty of sides and salads and, fittingly for the Cake Boss, there is a great bakery section with cookies, cake, muffins and, of course, cannoli. Outside, there’s even a pizza vending machine in case they’re closed, delivering hot slices anytime. Oh yeah! –Nina King

Unexpected Turns
Comedian’s routines welcome you into his world
Tom Segura has a way with words, and an approach to standup sets that eases audiences into following him down a comedy trail with detours into twisted territory. Segura’s greatest skill is the pivot, lulling the crowd by presenting as a nonthreatening, likeable guy with a matter-offact manner of telling anecdotes before he takes a sharp turn into a risqué landscape that’s nearly too fast to process, as he moves on with the narrative or to the next observation.
The laugh reflex is more powerful than the impulse to be offended, hence the secret to Segura’s success.
That success has its roots in growing up with a no-filter father and devoutly Catholic mother. As Segura details in his book of essays, I’d Like to Play Alone, Please, released in May, his late father was an ex-Marine with a penchant for unsolicited scatological commentary and his mother is easily offended. Segura developed stealthy methods of getting raunch across and offending without offending, which evolved into stand-up sets that earned him a slot on the New Faces program of the 2007 Just for Laughs Festival.
That 25th anniversary festival featured Jim Jefferies, Zach Galifianakis, Kevin Hart, Bill Burr, Jo Koy and Louis C.K. Segura quickly joined their ranks thanks in part to being an early adopter of podcasting, starting Your Mom’s House with comedian and spouse Christina Pazsitzky in 2010. They now have seven podcasts in their YMH Studios stable, including Dr. Drew After Dark, 2 Bears, 1 Cave featuring Segura and comedian Bert Kreischer, Tom Talks, and Tom Segura En Español.
In other words, Segura is a workhorse who parlays opportunities into success and is mastering the balance between raising children and mining them for material. He has two Netflix specials in the works that will join his four previous ones on the streaming service.
Segura loves Las Vegas. He’s figured out how to get his checks sent directly to casino floors and is likely to hit the blackjack tables between his two Aces of Comedy dates at The Mirage this weekend. But please: Just don’t tell Mrs. Segura. –Matt Kelemen

So Fun It’s Scary
From food to drinks to attractions, get into the Halloween spirit at various Vegas locations
Halloween is fast approaching, and visitors to Las Vegas know that means a whole lot of fun! Parties, attractions, and even special cocktails are all part of this year’s offerings to celebrate the spooky season.
The Venetian rings in fall with no tricks, just treats. A trio of cocktails at the property’s three premier bars, The Dorsey, Rosina and Electra Cocktail Club, are scary … delicious. The Dorsey’s Harvest Riot combines white rum, carrot juice, lemon, orgeat, grated cinnamon, an orange wedge and cherry; Electra’s El Diablo features tequila, lime, ginger juice, crème de cassis, club soda and ginger garnish; and Rosina’s Pumpkin Spice Carajillo is a delicious blend of vodka, Licor 43, espresso and, of course, pumpkin! (All are pictured at left.)
The cocktail goodness con tinues over at all three Minus5 Icebars—at The Linq Promenade, Mandalay Bay and The Venetian—where everything is made of ice: The Black Widow, a decidedly spooky spin on the margarita. This version features tequila, Blue Curaçao, Orange Curaçao, sweet and sour, lime juice, black sprinkles and a splash of grenadine. It’s served in—what else?—a glass made entirely of ice.
How about a true shock to the system? Freakling Bros. Horror Shows returns to the Las Vegas Valley until Oct. 31 in the IKEA parking lot at 6555 Riley St. From 7 p.m. to midnight each day, experience horror like never before. This is no movie; it’s real! The names of some of the haunts—“Coven of 13” and “Gates of Hell”—are scary enough. Halloween definitely means parties in Las Vegas, and the Legacy Club at Circa Resort & Casino will host an adults-only Masquerade Party from 8 to 11 p.m. on Oct. 28. All attendees will receive a mask upon entry and be able to enjoy specialty cocktails and, because it’s Halloween, a dessert candy bar, full of goodies like saltwater taffy, gumballs, rock candy, sour belts and much more. Tickets can be ordered by going online to circalasvegas.com/lega cy-club-events/
At Resorts World, the entire property will be Alice in Wonder land-themed for Wonder World, from the Red Queen’s Castle at Zouk Nightclub and Mad Hatter Tea Party at Alle on 66 to the Mushroom Enchanted Forest at Gatsby’s Cocktail Lounge and the Caterpillar Forest at Eight Lounge. Go through the rabbit hole and join the fun! –Ken Miller

Party Like a VIP
A night out isn’t just a night out in Las Vegas. A concert isn’t just a concert; a game isn’t just a game— and the perfect example of this is at Hyde Lounge at T-Mobile Arena.
The next time you think about booking that concert or sporting event, forget the arena seating and think about doing it like a VIP. At Hyde Lounge guests get access to the private fifth floor, where the 18,000-square-foot lounge oversees the entire arena below. It’s here that you can dance, drink, dine and
discover an über-cool way to experience an event.
For concerts and fights, there’s no need to purchase a regular ticket; instead, there’s a food and beverage minimum spend (from as low as $50 and as high as $550 per person) and, depending on the size of your group, you’ll get guaranteed seating, a dedicated server and access to the lounge before, during and after the event. Hockey games work just a little different: you purchase a ticket with an additional $50 F&B
spending minimum. “It’s a lot different than sitting in the stands,” says Justin Weiss, VIP services manager for Hyde Lounge. “You get a mixture of being in a suite and being in a club. It’s what makes this place so sought after. It’s a VIP experience. You have your own server in your section. It’s that nightclub feel. We do bottle service, too, like a VIP. You get your own space like the suites, so you’re not cramped in with other people. You can sit. And then there’s the club environment—the bars are

hit, you have the DJ going, it’s really cool.”
For those that don’t want to spend quite as much—and don’t mind standing room only—Hyde also offers the two triangles that bookend the lounge: the Avion Tequila triangle and the Stella Artois triangle. For just $35 you can check out a game or concert while enjoying great views of the arena below and a dedicated bar. “It’s a really, really fun party in those spaces,” Weiss says.
Besides the bar that serves all manner of cocktails and beers, guests can peruse the signature

cocktail list with all-new cocktails this season. Some standouts include: the picante margarita with Casamigos reposado tequila, jalapeño liqueur and fresh lime juice; the strawberry mint mule with Cirôc vodka, strawberry, agave mojito Ripe Bar juice and Fever Tree ginger beer; and the bourbon peach with Bulleit bourbon, peach juice, fresh lime juice and Fever Tree elderflower tonic. Guests can also enjoy elevated bar food options, with executive chef Paul Pascua and his team whipping up made-to-order dishes like short
rib sliders, ahi tuna nachos, barbecue chicken flatbread, caprese salad and a pearl sugar Belgian waffle with ice cream.
Another bonus is you never know what celebrities you might be partying next to. Hyde Lounge is a big draw for celebs, and even the musicians and athletes that perform that night sometimes head up to Hyde after their concert or game. “We have a lot of celebrity presence,” Weiss says. –Kiko Miyasato

Jon Vetter
It had been more than 20 years since Jon Vetter—general manager for Jack Binion’s Steak at Bally’s—cemented his success in the food and beverage industry on the East Coast before he decided to pack up and head West. “I would visit Las Vegas a few times a year, one to get warm, and two to see what new things were going on,” Vetter says. “Eat some food, drink, relax and recharge my batteries. By 2012 I decided to move here.”
A decade later, Vetter continues in the F&B industry managing restaurants
all over the Strip. Last year, he was tapped to help run the new steakhouse at Bally’s. “This steakhouse is kinda my baby,” he says. Vetter was a part of the opening team and contributed to mak ing the steakhouse a standout spot.
“Our goal is to have a place where you come and dine and it has a lot of the traditional steakhouse, but we’ve taken a lot of the traditions and turned them on their ear,” Vetter says.
As general manager Vetter oversees the operations, from talking with guests and helping the staff to working on the

One would be remiss not to recognize Vetter’s commitment to an industry he fell in love with three decades ago—he worked hard and moved up the ladder, and when you see him at the steakhouse, you’ll immediately get why he’s found success.

Matteo’s Ristorante Italiano reintroduces its popular brunch
Salmone marinatoWe’ve all been there. Morning rolls around, and we may have indulged a little much the night before. What to do? Brunch is always best, helping you refuel your depleted body and rehydrate. Of course, a little of the hair of the dog never hurts. And it’s a perfect time to gather the group and compare notes on the night before.
At Matteo’s Ristorante Italiano, in the recently reintro duced weekend brunch (Friday through Sunday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.), you’ll not only get super-tasty dishes, you’ll be able to indulge in a cocktail or two. You’ll want that cocktail right away, of course, and the Hangover Cart is ready to deliver soon after you make your way to the table in the light, bright restaurant.
The cart is actually a very clever way to help get you back in the pink. When it rolls up, you’ll first enjoy a small strawberry smoothie, designed to cleanse your palate, then choose a kombucha-centered cocktail. Kom bucha is well known for its health benefits, and its piquant taste has led to its increased popularity across the country. Watermelon,
pineapple and ginger-flavored kombuchas provide the base for the cocktail, while tequila, gin and rum give it a little kick. It’s then topped with apple cider and such items as strawberries, mint, and a smoked orange slice. The result is an exceptionally light and clean drink that you don’t feel guilty for enjoying. (These are also good without alcohol!)
Mimosas come in several flavors, and the Bloody Mary, a classic drink for a morning after, is made with garlic-infused vodka and accented by poached shrimp, cucumber and celery.
Don’t let that Bloody Mary be your only sustenance, though.
Chef Angelo Auriana has designed a menu that’s sure to stimulate your appetite, including delights like the pappa al pomodora—a deep-red soup made with San Marzano tomatoes, with a sunny side up egg shining like the sun in the center of the
bowl. The Tuscan white bean casserole is mild with mushrooms, rosemary and chili flakes for a tiny kick.
Other options include salmone marinato, cured salmon with potatoes and stracchino cheese; the Benedict with mortadella, olive toast and hollandaise; the frittata, made with natural eggs, Asiago cheese and stracciatel la—it’s hearty without being overwhelming. Keep it light with gamberi, shrimp with baked polenta, and prosciutto. But if you do want a little more to your meal, try the filetto e uova, an elevated steak and eggs with filet mignon, roasted potatoes and pan-fried eggs.
And although it’s one of your entrées, if you feel like ending with dessert, the ricotta pancakes with blueberries, mascarpone crema, marmalade and maple syrup will fill that need for sweets without being too heavy.

Meet the team taking Zouk Nightclub at Resorts World to the top of Vegas nightlife
Las Vegas has long had a lock on o ering partiers the best nightclub experiences in the world. A year ago, Zouk Group joined the ranks with the opening of Zouk Nightclub and Ayu Dayclub at Resorts World. We take readers beyond the ropes for a peek
inside the inner workings of Zouk and meet the team behind the name and some of the best experiences to date. Together these men are cementing Zouk’s place in the pantheon of Vegas parties, and they’re sharing their stories with us.
Ronn Nicolli , CMO, Resorts World and VP of nightlife marketing, Zouk Group. “I have a very exciting and interesting dual role at the property. I am the CMO of Resorts World Las Vegas and the vice president of nightlife for Zouk Group Las Vegas. My responsibilities lie mainly in overseeing marketing and brand initiatives for Resorts World Las Vegas and overseeing strategy marketing for artist and entertainment opportunities.”
Brent Freed , programming director, Resorts World. “As director of programming, I book the entertainment for Zouk Nightclub, Ayu Dayclub, The Resorts World Event Center and other property-wide venues. My main role is curating a
lineup for our venues that stands out from the rest of the city.”
Nick Martini , VP of marketing, Resorts World. “I have a dual role at the property, where I aid in leading marketing initiatives between both Resorts World and Zouk Las Vegas.”
Andrew Pacheco, executive director of customer development, Zouk Group. “In my position, I lead the team of 19 VIP hosts in driving revenue for Zouk Nightclub and Ayu Dayclub. We work to develop future VIP customers and create a team of brand ambassadors for the Resorts World Las Vegas brand overall.”
Arman Semerciyan , director of VIP services, Zouk Group. “I lead the team of 19 VIP hosts with Andrew Pacheco. I also oversee all promotion and the
ticketing program for Zouk Nightclub and Ayu Dayclub.”
Jared Garcia , director of social experiences, Zouk Group. “This role entails acting as the head of the talent department and pursuing artists that are hot and up and coming for residencies at Zouk and Ayu. From the moment an artist lands in Las Vegas to the second they leave, I work to ensure that they have an amazing experience. I also oversee celebrity and influencer events, and any out-ofmarket events we host like Coachella, Super Bowl, F1 and more.”
Michael Waltman , executive director of operations, Zouk Group “I am fortunate enough to oversee operations at Zouk Nightclub, Ayu Dayclub, FUHU, RedTail and Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den. We have a great portfolio of outlets (at Resorts World) that each have their own identity.”
Nicolli: I think the production element is very unique. Not that other Vegas venues don’t have great production, but I truly believe our immersive visuals and state-of-the-art sound system create a custom journey for our guests. All of it collectively makes the room special.
Freed: Our venue has no obstructions for the guests or talent performing, which is super unique in Vegas. Whether the guest is a table customer or ticket buyer, the experience is really enjoyable for all.
Martini: The technology is the first thing that comes to mind; the team that worked on the tech in the venue did an incredible job. The experience,
the visuals and production provided to our guests truly does raise the bar in Las Vegas’ ultra-competitive nightlife.
Pacheco: Our team is always thinking of ways to make each experience over the top to create a lasting impression with our guests. For example, being able to put a guest’s picture up on the giant LED screen on our West Tower for special occasions always helps create a unique, memorable experience.
Semerciyan: From the massive LED screen on our West Tower, to the several inside Zouk, we have the ability to customize unique presentations for each guest. Our team is always looking for ways to give guests memorable experiences. No idea seems too crazy or unachievable with the team we have here.
Garcia: One of the first things artists and their teams mention when speaking about Zouk is the sound quality in the venue. We o er a state-
of-the-art L-Acoustics sound system inside of Zouk, providing some of the best sounds of any nightclub in the world. Additionally, the production featured throughout the venue is unparalleled, with LED screens and lights that can be personalized for any special occasion.
just me, but every other guest in the room will be talking about years from now. A truly unique experience that only Las Vegas can provide.
Garcia: The most memorable for me was the grand opening of Ayu Dayclub with a performance from Miley Cyrus.
The excitement of being a part of opening a new venue on the Las Vegas Strip is unparalleled.
Nicolli: We have had some great athletes come through the venue in a very short period of time. From Sugar Sean, Canelo (Álvarez), Ryan Garcia, to the Golden State Warriors. One of the most memorable was in the middle of Zedd’s set, Canelo went up and spent about 15 minutes serenading his wife. This was a passionate, raw, and organic moment that really stood out to me. The way the crowd sang along and interacted with Canelo was a human connection we seldom see take place in a nightclub.
Freed: Zouk has had a really good first year and continues to grow our celebrity/live performer roster. So far, we’ve had: Travis Scott, Jack Harlow, J Balvin, Maluma, Karol G, G Eazy all perform, and we have Post Malone’s debut show (Nov. 11) with us.
Freed: Some of the most memorable nights so far for me were Zouk’s grand opening with Tiësto, New Year’s Eve with Zedd, GRAMMY Weekend with Jack Harlow, and most recently our Travis Scott debut show.
Martini: Travis Scott’s surprise set. We already had an amazing night underway when Travis Scott arrived at our venue, and then surprised our guests by performing some of his best songs. The energy in the room was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. That was one of those moments where not
Zedd and Travis Scott courtesy photos, Maluma photo by Tony TranMartini: Being a Cleveland Cavaliers fan, you would think I wouldn’t be excited about the Golden State Warriors celebrating a championship with us, but it ended up being one of the most memorable moments for me at Zouk. It was one of those situations that happens very fast, and it takes all of us to make it memorable. I remember driving around town the night they were coming in looking for jerseys for the sta to wear and décor to make the night feel special for the team. The Warriors were nothing but thankful and appreciative of the custom celebration the Zouk team curated for them.
Garcia: One of my favorite celebrity events was when actress Zoey Deutch
visited Zouk. While she is 27 now, we learned that she never had a proper Las Vegas 21st birthday celebration, so we threw her an amazing belated celebration. Another memorable celebrity visit was Top Gun: Maverick actor Glen Powell, who visited Zouk after appearing at CinemaCon. He came in with his friends and family and threw a great after party.
cliché, but it really takes a village to raise a child, and the same for what we do—it takes a great team, with endless passion.
Nicolli: I never try to think in the essence of “I,” it really is not who I am as an individual. I think to have a successful party, contributions are really needed from a team. Not to be
Martini: I really enjoy the charity aspect of our work. We put on a poker tournament this year on the Thursday before EDC weekend, which was hosted by our resident artist, Tiësto. The event was a huge success and one that took e ort by many of our team members. The tournament started in the poker room and the final table was moved into Zouk on the dancefloor with full production set up all around it. The event was attended by celebrities, athletes, and some of our talent. It was a memorable experience and, most importantly,
gave us the opportunity to give back to our community by giving all the proceeds to Project 150—a nonprofit organization that provides free support and services to the homeless, displaced and disadvantaged teens in Southern Nevada.
Semerciyan: The Travis Scott show was one that I think the entire team had a big part in making successful. Not just in the venue at Zouk, but with the Travis Scott pop-up on property. The combination of it being on a Canelo fight night and LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) having a big activation in the venue really made for an unparalleled experience.
Nicolli: G Eazy. I think he is really incredible live. His team is amazing to work with, as they always come in with such great energy and really care about producing a great performance. Something we can see when Gerald is performing live.
Martini: Live performances stand out for me. We’ve had some great acts over the past year from J Balvin, Maluma, Becky G, G-Eazy, Jack Harlow and Travis Scott. Getting that concert experience in an intimate setting always feels like an extraspecial moment.
Garcia: My personal favorites have been Maluma and Travis Scott. These are artists that people typically only see in stadiums or arenas, so their performances at Zouk o er a more intimate setting that guests won’t get anywhere else.
Nicolli: Tiësto. The music he has put out in the past decade is just phenomenal. The energy and crowd interactions are amazing, and we always know it will be a great night with him.
Garcia: One of my favorite performances was Carl Cox because we had so much industry support.
Additionally, I love any of Tiësto’s shows at Zouk because he brings such massive amounts of energy and all of his hits. He is at the top of his career at this moment, and we are thrilled to have him as a resident at Zouk and Ayu.

once-in-a-lifetime experience. The name traces back to our roots as a Singaporean company.
Garcia: We are always reinventing experiences, staying current and up to date with talent and ensuring every guest has a great experience so they return to Zouk.
Nicolli: There is a secret bottle package that is not on the menu that you can order. It is called the “Singapore Secret.” This $20,000 bottle package allows guests to become a part of the DJ/artist arrival experience, where they can experience what it is like to be the star of the night. We welcome the guest to join us in the back prior to the start of the main DJ’s set, and then they walk into the DJ booth alongside the artist when he/she begins. There is also a photo/video opportunity with the DJ that is included. The experience of walking out to a packed crowd and into the booth with the DJ is really a
Martini: Teamwork is everything, from the leadership group to our interns, we strive to make sure we are always on the same unified path and support each other along the way. We are in a unique business and get the opportunity to provide people with memories that will last a lifetime.
Pacheco: Consistency is just one step before mediocrity. We will always strive to improve as a team to create the best, most memorable parties. I cannot accept failing at anything.
Waltman: DJs and business volumes may change, but great service is always consistent.
Nicolli: The team. I think keeping the core team together is vital. The collection of guys you see in this publication are each creative and passionate in each of their verticals. Opening a venue or property is very di cult, to do so during a pandemic with great success is a testament to how amazing this group of guys are, and I know we are just starting to uncover Zouk’s potential.

suitable to a desert locale while still being a luxury product. A recent groundbreaking for Oasi was presided over by Blue Heron founder Tyler Jones and BH Nexus’ president Chris Beucler.
The luxury market, Jones believes, is still growing in Las Vegas, and there are a few reasons why:
“I think the biggest factor is still California and what’s going
on there,” Jones said. “You know, there’re a lot of high-net-worth individuals that can afford the luxury homes—they’re just unhappy—the tax climate is not getting any better. They’re not talking about any significant solutions.” And the pandemic created change as well, he says.
“People were shocked and stuck at home; they literally had no other option. I think people just learned to
Blue Heron’s latest project embraces change in home living
appreciate … the difference between an OK home and an exceptional home. It really affects your life and your family and your relationships and the way you feel when you when you come home; and you spend so much time there. I think that really has fueled the increase in values for luxury homes.”
Added Beucler: “I think luxury has been redefined. And what I mean by that … luxury in the past was big, showy, and one of the things that Blue Heron has done a great job of is it’s not big and showy, it’s big and it works. And what I mean by that, it works for your lifestyle.
It works for the lifestyle of people we’re trying to appeal to. And the luxury part is that they get into it. And they go, ‘Oh, wow. I can I can see how I can live here.’
“When we talk about redefining luxury, it’s the biophilic design. It’s the sustainability factors. It’s the drought-tolerant nature of the landscaping, it’s all of these things that are important to people now.”
In the Oasi homes, buyers can choose from floor plans, a range of high-end custom tile and materials, the landscaping, which, despite being drought-tolerant like all Blue Heron homes, still means a lush en-
vironment, plus you have the option of siting a casita as well. All of Blue Heron’s services, which have grown throughout the years, are in-house.
“It’s been an organic growth,” which means bringing the right people and letting them bring in their right people and all of that, which helps,” says Jones. “And we’re not growing for the sake of growing; we’re growing for the sake of creating environments that people can get excited about.”
