Create an invigorating night with this special Valentine’s Day menu
This Valentine’s Day, head to Aqua in Resorts World Las Vegas, where the chefs have come up with a four-course menu perfect for a dinner for two.
Celebrated chef Shaun Hergatt is the mind behind Aqua, an intimate venue in The District, where caviar, seafood and quality meats rendezvous to create memorable meals. Most nights, you can start with such offerings as items as Tasmanian ocean trout with trout roe, calamansi and spicy kosho; crab cakes; shrimp toast with caviar sauce; and wagyu toast with a black olive spread.
The main menu features seafood such as red snapper, uni risotto, Alaskan black cod and big eye tuna steak. The beef offerings include a Creekstone Farms prime ribeye or prime filet, a wagyu tomahawk and a wagyu strip loin from Allen Brothers of Australia, Hergatt’s homeland. Vegetarians are sure to dig the handmade potato gnocchi or a Thai red curry with butternut squash.
On Valentine’s Day, take advantage of Hergatt’s special menu. An amuse-bouche is designed to get your taste buds singing from the get-go, with a brioche round serving as the base for tuna and caviar with a spot of spicy aioli. Take your choice of tuna tataki with wasabi ponzu, or beets and burrata with slow-roasted beets and a beet reduction for the first course.
For the second course, Aqua’s lobster bisque envelops you in creamy flavor. Salad lovers, delight in La Rosa salad, accented with avocado sauce and lemon vinaigrette. Add on tuna tartare with quail egg, sesame dressing and nori if you are feeling decadent. The third course features shrimp risotto or ribeye cap with pomme purée. You can add shrimp scampi as well. For dessert, enjoy strawberry souffle with chocolate sauce. Reservations are recommended. The Valentine’s Day menu is also available Feb. 15-16.
If you are looking to dine early, Aqua’s Evening Kickoff prix fixe menu (available 4-6 p.m.) is a three-course menu with choices like Australian Caesar salad, crab cake, Australian wagyu hangar steak, gnocchi, spicy fried chicken and the Caviar Ball dessert with blackberry cheesecake. At $85, it’s an excellent way to dine at Aqua and enjoy a concert or nightclub later. –Nina King

Celebrity’s latest Vegas venture is a journey back in time, complete with signature cocktails and comforting bites
In a very short amount of time, entrepreneur/reality TV star and actress Lisa Vanderpump has established an empire on the Las Vegas Strip. In addition to Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace and Vanderpump à Paris at Paris Las Vegas, she’s now opened her third establishment, the luxurious and fun Pinky’s by Vanderpump at Flamingo. And judging by how much this establishment delivers, it’s a sure bet the empire is only going to continue to grow.
Situated within the property toward the Strip (with parts of the establishment boasting great people-watching views), Pinky’s by Vanderpump is really the best of both worlds when it comes to cocktails and creative takes on some of America’s favorite comfort foods, all in a space that evokes a bygone era with art deco décor, including muted greens, brass accents and soft blush pink hues. To say it complements its historic host property perfectly is a massive understatement.
You’ll feel like a real VIP the second you sit down for your experience, and a big part of that is the Instagrammable signature cocktails, all with their own inimitable presentation. Caviar fans have got
to try the Pump & Bump, a caviar martini served with a spoonful of caviar on a gold plate, while margarita fans will flip for the Flip the Bird, a green goddess marg served in a tiny gold birdcage!
While sipping your libation of choice, choose from a wide variety of some truly satisfying dishes. Go classic with the Pinky’s Shrimp Cocktail, featuring white wine-poached shrimp, a Bloody Mary cocktail sauce and Tajín. Carnivores will love the Pinky’s Burger, an absolute beast with a 7-ounce Angus patty, Bibb lettuce, applewood smoked bacon, tomato, dill pickle slices, housemade onion rings, Pinky’s Secret Sauce and dill tater tots.
For dessert, you and your special someone can share the Pinky’s Baked Alaska, with this version featuring Neopolitan semifreddo, madeleine tart, vanilla shortbread, meringue and fruit. If you prefer to drink your dessert, order the Deco Drip, a salted caramel espresso martini made with Workdog vodka, Italian roasted espresso, Baileys Salted Caramel, Kahlua, caramel and chocolate sprinkles, served tableside. –Ken Miller Flamingo. caesars.com
In 1995, just five years after Rio Las Vegas opened its doors, it built a witchy steakhouse on its 50th floor. The personality of VooDoo Steak explored the kitschy side of voodoo, pushing the mystical practice in décor and feel. Nearly two decades later, VooDoo Steak still sits pretty on the top of the property, and while the voodoo theme is no longer a focal point, the steakhouse team is still creating magic in the kitchen.
The menu at VooDoo Steak is not huge, but it is mighty when it comes
to each dish’s flavor and presentation. Artisan steaks come from family farms in Hastings, Neb., and are 21- to 28-day wet-aged with classic cuts like ribeye, filet, bone-in ribeye and prime flat iron. Splurge on a 12-ounce Mishima Reserve domestic wagyu beef or the shareable 32-ounce tomahawk. If something other than red meat is desired, there are plenty of entrées to please the palate, from seared scallops and lamb chops to salmon and chicken marsala.
Vegetarians, don’t fret. We would be
remiss to not mention chef Matt Nguyen’s plant-based cooking skills—this man conjures up crazy delicious creations. Make mention of your dietary restriction when making your reservation. While vegetarian dishes are not on the menu except for a few side dishes (the whipped potatoes are heaven incarnate!), this go-around, the chef blew away this writer with some of the best vegetarian recipes she’s ever tasted. –Kiko Miyasato

Explore yourself at this fascinating exhibit
The feeling of amazement you’ll likely experience as you first glimpse the preserved human figures in REAL BODIES at Horseshoe Las Vegas will likely quickly be replaced by feelings of strong emotion. This exhibit was created to tell stories as well as introduce generations to the various systems that come together to create human life, and odds are you will come out of this attraction feeling much more connected to the universe.
All the bodies on display have been preserved by a process called plastination, allowing the curators to display them in various poses that illustrate activities we enjoy in our everyday lives, but exposing the musculature, skeleton, arteries and more in the process.
For each body, a different story of the human condition is told, with rooms labeled “Rhythm,” “Hunger,” “Move,” “Think,” “Love,” “Breathe” and more. In addition, you’ll be introduced to fun facts about the body itself. For example, did you know that the saliva you produce over a lifetime can fill two swimming pools? Or that the volume of air that your lungs inhale daily can fill two hot air balloons?
Along with the bodies themselves, there are so many different smaller exhibits that will make you stop and reflect. When you see the smoker’s lung, it will definitely make you rethink that next cigarette, while a section featuring shrunken heads and a large piece of human skin cannot be ignored. And when you enter the “Death Hall,” lit with candles, it’s a sobering reminder of just how fleeting and delicate our situation is.
Odds are you may be wanting to improve your health after a visit here, and if so, you are in luck! The exhibit’s creators are working on a “Journey to Wellness” program for the month of January, which will feature, among other things, a resolution wall for those who want to change their lives for the better. –Ken

“But I’m not really a big fan of dance!” you might be saying to yourself as you contemplate buying tickets to Jabbawockeez . Let me make something extremely clear: Jabbawockeez’ Timeless is a show for absolutely everyone, regardless of background or taste. It’s not just a celebration of dance in all its myriad forms; it’s a celebration of life itself. By the time the night is over, you will have laughed, cheered, perhaps even shed a tear. And you will
absolutely have felt part of something truly communal.
By now, you’re probably familiar with the look of the show—every performer wears a mask so that the focus is squarely on their moves and not their faces. But what you may not know is how many genres of music will be covered in just an hour. You’re as likely to hear Wu-Tang Clan and Billie Eilish as you are Frank Sinatra and The Jackson 5. And just as the music constantly changes, so do the
dance styles—you’ll see break-dancing, swing and so much more.
In perhaps the show’s most inspired bit, a karaoke contest breaks out among audience members. It ends with an obvious audience plant who slays in his performance and wins the prize of—you guessed it!—a plant. It’s a show you truly don’t want to end. But hey, you can always buy another ticket. –Ken Miller
Imbibe at this vibey, Japanese-inspired hot spot
Strolling the streets of Tokyo’s Shinjuku neighborhood and imbibing within the winding alleyways of the Golden Gai district should be on everybody’s bucket list. But if you’re not quite sold, consider traveling a much shorter distance to Asian restaurant Wakuda inside The Venetian, where you’ll find an inspired bar named after the iconic, faraway nightlife scene.
“This place is based off of the Golden Gai district in Shinjuku, so we wanted to pay homage to that, not only through the artwork, but through the style of craft cocktails that we create,” says head of nightlife Peter Lee.
A quaint, modern lounge, Golden Gai sits just off the restaurant’s neon-lit main hallway and offers a cocktail program reminiscent of its Japanese identity, full of unique and hard-tofind ingredients. And that artwork Lee mentioned is a collection of fascinating Shohei Otomo ballpoint pen drawings that essentially fill every bit of open wall space at the bar.
“In Golden Gai, they drink a lot of beer and sake—It’s very simple things that they drink,” says beverage manager Beau Huizinga. “Cocktails are very much an American thing, so we want to take influence from those (bars), but we also put our own spin on it by doing cocktails.”
If sweet and refreshing sounds like something you seek, you have to order the TLM. Made with Haku vodka (a spirit made from Japanese white rice
that’s fermented and distilled through pot stills then filtered through bamboo charcoal), sake, lemon and lychee juice, this take on a lychee martini is simply one of the best. The subtly sweet vodka amplifies the flavor of the lychee juice while the acidic lemon brings balance to the drink. Even better, this drink is garnished with a Wakamomo peach, an unripe baby peach from the mountains of Japan that is so yummy it might
outside and sip with a Strip
Order late-night light bites after 10 p.m.
be worth ordering the drink just to try one.
Put some pep in your step with the Matcha Made In Heaven, a gin-based drink with matcha (obvs), lemon, yuzu, coconut cream, egg white and Génépy, an herbal liqueur made from a type of wormwood plant, similar to Chartreuse but less sweet. “I like using matcha tea; I think it’s a cool ingredient,” Huizinga says. “It brings a vibrant color to
any cocktail that you’re putting it in. It brings some earthy umami, some floral notes.”
The bright and punchy citrus in this drink shines while elevating the woody matcha and balancing the sweet ingredients. Plus, who doesn’t love a bit of frothiness on top, courtesy of the egg white? It’s like everything you love about a matcha latte, but in a fruity cocktail.
Speaking of fruity, for some tropical vibes try the Wakuda Tiki, made with dark rum, falernum, yuzu, orgeat, pineapple and Angostura bitters. This concoction sends you straight to the Caribbean with its mai tai-like combination of flavors.
Don’t miss this cocktail club’s extensive selection of beers, wines and sakes that have been carefully curated to include a bit of everything while featuring some standouts. This is one of the few bars in town where you can order Overture by Opus One, a vintage red with fruit and floral notes. –Em Jurbala

With guidance and support, bartender finds great success
Wilson Barrera is exactly where he was meant to be. For a decade he worked at Palms as a food runner, busser, lifeguard and bar back. “I would always run into Barry (Dakake) from N9NE Steakhouse; we crossed paths many times and I got to know him,” Barrera says. “Now I’m a bartender, my first bartending job, at his restaurant. Ever since I started, I’ve been chopping at it and making the moves.”
Barrera has been with Barry’s Downtown Prime at Circa Resort & Casino since its doors opened, and he says he
has found his dream job. “I’m here for the long run; these guys know it.”
Barrera has mad love for Dakake and the other owners of Barry’s. “They’ve come up in the industry themselves,” he says. “They guide us—guidance is a big thing. They have other projects that they’re working on and told me about and said, ‘I’m their guy.’ So I’m all in. They’re not just my bosses; they’re mentors and they’re friends.”
And, under their tutelage, Barrera is thriving. He’s revamped the menu, with
One of Barrera’s creations is the L-O-V-E, perfect for Valentine’s Day. It’s a mix of Grey Goose Essences strawberry and lemongrass vodka, lychee syrup, Aperol, lime juice and egg whites. The brush of raspberry compote along the glass makes this cocktail over-thetop delicious. –KM

I wake up and think about cocktails.” It’s about the service, too, says Barrera, that’s also a big part of being a great bartender.

If you’re searching for the perfect spot to celebrate this Valentine’s Day, then you’ve found it. Ei el Tower Restaurant, sitting 100 feet up inside the iconic Vegas version of the Ei el Tower, looks out across the Strip toward the Fountains
of Bellagio, making for a very lovely vista during your meal (and a perfect place for a proposal?).
The French restaurant, a Lettuce Entertain You venue, has garnered a reputation both for that beauty and for the food of chef J. Joho. While any night is special here, you’ll find a prix fixe menu for Valentine’s Day and the next night as well—bonus! ($175 per person)—with celery root blanc manger and Alaskan king crab salad to begin, plus choices including a rich warm foie gras with braised fennel and Casco Bay sea scallops with French green lentils. Among the choices for entrées are salmon with champagne brown butter; filet mignon with bone marrow bread pudding; portobello roulade with mushroom jus; and roasted chicken breast with braised salsify. If you’ve never tried salsify, the flavor will completely surprise you; I find it to be slightly meaty
but delicate. You’ll also get a decadent Valentine’s Day dessert.
Other nights, start o with one of the restaurant’s amazing cocktails, such as The Ei el A air, a sparkling sweetheart of a drink with Ei el Tower Cremant D’Alsace, vodka macerated berries, crème de cassis and orange liqueur. You can also get a variety of wines by the glass.
Along with that, you may be tempted to dive into the Old World classic escargots à la Bourguignonne, served with garlic butter, or the slow-braised smoked pork belly Lyonnaise style, sure to tease your taste buds. If you choose caviar service, you’ll find flights of both American and imported osetra caviar. Entrées are plentiful, with seafood like Mediterranean branzino with braised black rice; Alaskan wild black cod; and slow-roasted filet of salmon with a pinot noir sauce. Vegetarians are sure to love

More than 100 years ago, legendary archaeologist Howard Carter and his team discovered the lost tomb of Tutankhamun, also known as King Tut’s Tomb. Lost for centuries, the pharaoh’s tomb was originally sealed after his death around 1323 B.C. and wasn’t found until 1922. The gold lined tomb, filled with different treasures and King Tut’s sarcophagus is one of the most famous archeological finds of the 20th century. And now, you don’t need to travel to Egypt to
experience its wonder. Discovering King Tut’s Tomb at Luxor Hotel and Casino is an immersive experience that takes you through the wonders and mysteries of ancient Egypt.
This self-guided journey walks you through the footsteps of Howard Carter as he found the tomb site, unlocked the inner rooms, discovered the many treasures within, and came faceto-face with King Tut’s mummy.
Beginning in the caves of the Valley of the Kings, the burial site of many other Egyptian royals, you’ll experience the sounds and images of excavation within hieroglyphic covered walls. You’ll then dive deeper into the artifacts of the tomb, including gold, statues of Egyptian gods, and everyday objects used by ancient Egyptians.
Beyond the immersive world and jaw-dropping replica artifacts, the exhibit is filled with educational diagrams and videos including an in-depth look at the mummification process. There’s also extended information about the life and times of King Tut himself, a boy king who only lived into his late teens and left an indelible mark on Egyptian history.
One of the most extraordinary recreations is King Tut’s sarcophagus and coffin, which consists of three nested, jewel-encrusted golden coffins and the mummified form within.
Beyond the main walk-thru experience, you can do an add-on virtual reality tour of the moment Howard Carter first entered the sought after tomb.
There’s also an extensively themed gift shop with options for all ages, including high-end jewelry reminiscent of ancient Egypt.
The all-inclusive package is the best experience and a great value at $69 for adults and $49 for children. It includes general admission tickets to the exhibit, an audio tour guided by Howard Carter, the virtual reality experience, and a 6x8 souvenir photo. To learn more, visit KingTutVegas.com.

Pickleball is not just the fastestgrowing sport in the U.S. It’s fast becoming a way of life for the pickleball faithful, with nets springing up across the country and court complexes in Florida that can accommodate dozens of matches. Former tennis legends such as Andre Agassi, Ste Graf, Andy Roddick and Eugenie Bouchard have also acquired a taste for the pickleball paddle, enough so that they will be competing for a $1 million purse at Sunday’s Pickleball Slam 3: The Duel in the Desert.
Back-to-back Pickleball Slam champion Agassi participated in the inaugural Slam in April 2023 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Fla., alongside Roddick, John McEnroe and Michael Chang. Defending champion Graf and Maria Sharapova joined Agassi and McEnroe at the same venue last April for Pickleball Slam 2, with both events drawing high ratings on ESPN and serving as milestones for how far the sport has come since its humble origins.
The combination of badminton, tennis and table tennis was devised by Washington State politician Joel Pritchard in 1965 after his children were unable to fi nd shuttlecocks for the family’s badminton net and a Wi e ball was substituted instead. Pritchard fashioned some paddles from wood in his workshop, refi ned the rules and watched as the sport grew from a
neighborhood phenomenon into a regional fad by the mid-’70s.
Now there are dedicated pickleball courts, public and private, where novices can learn the basics and fi nd out if they have the right stu to go professional. There are governing bodies, professional leagues and tournament tours. The Vlasic pickle company has lent its name to Vlasic Classic pickleball events, and now sells dillflavored Pickle Balls Corn Pu s.
Whether pickleball’s popularity supersedes that of traditional tennis remains to be seen, but McEnroe has shown audiences will fi ll seats to witness some serious competition mixed with occasional crowd-pleasing antics (paddle breaking, loud judgment disputing). Agassi and Graf have risen to the top, both as singles and doubles players, and will be taking on Roddick and Bouchard for the fi nal match.
Agassi goes head to head with Roddick during the fi rst match, while Graf faces o against Bouchard in a doubles match that teams them up with special guests yet to be announced. She and Agassi proved to be a devastating combination against McEnroe and Sharapova during Slam 2 and can only have improved in the ensuing time.
Regardless of the outcomes, Pickleball Slam 3 can only help draw more attention to the sport, which is being lobbied for inclusion in the Olympics. A pipeline of competitors from professional tennis can’t hurt either, as pro pickleballers such as Ben Johns and Anna Leigh Waters have yet to become household names.
Meanwhile Slam 3 makes for a good introduction to pickleball, with exciting action and easy-to-understand play. For the uninitiated, think of a giant ping-pong table that players stand on and smack a hollow, hole-fi lled ball back and forth over a net with underhanded serving. Pickleball, anyone?
is rapidly becoming a honky-tonk man about town on the Las Vegas Strip as of late. He performed for the Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest from his Stripside music venue/restaurant Ole Red on Dec. 31, then turned his attention to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace to make his debut as a resident headliner. Blake Shelton: Live in Las Vegas may be long overdue, but the country superstar has only recently managed to make room on his perpetually full plate for the run of per formances.
Shelton previewed two songs likely to be part of the Live in Las Vegas set at the New Year’s Eve show. His latest single, “Texas,” almost seems like a long-awaited follow up to “Austin,” the song that launched his career and gave him his first No. 1 country hit in 2001. His guest vocals on Post Malone’s “Pour Me a Drink” put him back on top of the country airwaves and became a Top 5 hit.
Further plans for the show were un-
specified. It’s probable that the setlist will draw on his 14 No. 1 hits from Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and 29 top airplay singles. It’s possible that there might be a guest or three, most notably Gwen Stefani. Shelton made a surprise appearance at his wife’s Just a Girl residency at Planet Hollywood in February 2020, right about the time their duet “Nobody but You” was the most popular country song on radio. They could duet on “Purple Irises” from Stefani’s 2024 album Bouquet or “Happy Anywhere” from Shelton’s 2021 album Body Language
Live in Las Vegas probably wouldn’t have happened at all if Shelton hadn’t resigned from his coaching positions on talent competition series The Voice in 2023. Shelton had been with the program since it launched and fatefully met fellow coach Stefani after both were bouncing back from divorces, but he wanted to spend more time with Stefani and his stepsons than a television gig would allow.

coaster ride for most of its duration. The musically talented youth emerged soon after Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Achy Breaky Heart” had caused mainstream audiences to view country music as good for little more than an occasional novelty hit. Shelton grabbed the reigns of traditionalist country as practiced by George Strait, Randy Travis and George Jones, and set out for a long ride.
He moved to Nashville at 17 and released “Austin” through Giant Records in April 2001. Shelton followed that up with “All Over Me” and “Ol’ Red,” with the latter becoming his signature song. He still had long locks when he released The Dreamer in 2003, followed by Blake Shelton’s Barn and Grill in 2004.
It was 2011’s Red River Blue that promoted him to superstar status, with songs such as “Honey Bee,” “Drink on It,” “Over” and “God Gave Me to You” becoming No. 1 singles and concert staples. Now Shelton is a living country legend with shows worthy of his accomplishments in a town ideal for his outsized, charismatic personality.

Colin Cloud brings his mind-melting intuition to Las Vegas
So Shin and I, we’ve been here for five years; the anniversary has just passed. But with my own show, I had performed solo at the Edinburgh festival since I was 18 years old and always loved the challenge of writing my own event and sharing that with people. As much as I love being with Shin, having been here and fallen in love with the city—and this city feels like Edinburgh festival but 365 days of the year—to be able to then have that opportunity, that platform to be able to share the best of all my work, I just felt like now was the time. It’s one thing to be a skilled mentalist, it’s a be older and be more confident, no one knows who I am. I got into stand-up comedy because I realized comedians are really good at being Sherlock Holmes in that they observe the world differently. I think the No. 1 human fear is public speaking, but they are able to be relaxed, share that view of the world, but they’re also able to pick up things for real in that environment, and I thought, “This is amazing,” and I realized the only way to learn that skill was to go actually do stand-up comedy and force myself. Having been here for five years, you’re basically a local at this point. What’s your favorite local spot? I love the Arts District. I only really discovered it when I moved more to that (area)... You know, Esther’s Kitchen, Makers & Finders, Cornish Pasty Co. It feels like this little hub away from the Strip, the intensity of the Strip, that just feels like a more local, chill hangout area and, as an introvert at heart, I just love how much calmer it feels compared to the lights, the noise, the glitz and glamour of the Strip. What made the Harrah’s Cabaret the perfect room for you? When I do test shows, it’s usually

Playful stories and symbols abound in Bellagio’s Conservatory & Botanical Gardens’
Year of the Snake exhibit
By Matt Kelemen
Of all the exhibits the design minds at Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens have conceived during the past eight years with Ed Libby at the helm, the annual Lunar New Year installations provide perhaps the most challenges and rewards. While the main theme is directly related to the animal associated with the year’s zodiac sign—2025 is the Year of the Snake— opportunities to tell visual stories through mythical
figures and symbolism are rich and varied.
It all begins with the animal that comes with the new moon cycle. In the race that determined the order with which the zodiac symbols would be celebrated, the snake came in sixth, behind the dragon but beating the horse. The snake symbolizes intuition and transformation, and may be perceived as charming or intimidating.
“The Lunar New Year exhibit is a much di erent
process than the other exhibits that we do throughout the year,” says Libby, who works with the Far East marketing team and executives with what they would like to see. “Everybody agreed that the snake can come o as intimidating. Some people are fearful of the snake, so one of the things that was part of our assignment was to make the snake beautiful and glamorous.”
The slitherer stands 28 feet high in the Conservato-
ry’s North Bed, its red skin and black outlines deferential to the snake’s lucky colors. Red and gold lanterns hang above a pond fed by a Koi fi sh fountain.
Over in the East Bed, pandas Bao and Mei, representing yin and yang, exchange giant red envelopes beneath money trees sprouting 88 I-Ching coins. The West Bed features peddlers telling stories and selling merchandise as children and pandas play by the 30-foot pagoda and waterfall, lit up by LED fi reworks ignited in the “sky.”
“They are magnificent during the day but they are insanely cool at night. It’s really incredible,” says Libby of the fi reworks. “We wanted it to feel and look as celebratory as possible.”
porcelain plate in the South Bed where trees sprout 2,500 cherry blossom branches.
“We’re really encouraged to tell stories through the exhibit, which I love,” says Libby, who is especially proud of the Garden Table, where guests can have an immersive dim sum experience curated by Noodles, Bellagio’s Pan-Asian restaurant.
“The whole idea of doing the South Bed in chinoiserie, which is basically a very glamorous Chinese art form that’s become mainstream in the Western World as well, I thought was really special,” says Libby. “The chinoiserie temple is where the dining experience is. It’s really a true East-meets-West moment, which I think is kind of cool.”
Libby also cites “up-close magic” as being an important element. That is, taking in the scene from a distance then zooming in to discover the intricacies of the materials used to create them. The pandas and snake were made from 45,600 preserved roses. Fireworks were made from 25,000 LED lights.
Five porcelain figures were created using the ancient art form of qinghua, while it took 120 hours to make the blue-and-white

Ever since her unforgettable debut in the '80s, there’s so much to love about Janet Jackson, from her airy vocals and smooth dance moves to her discography full of absolute hits. So it’s no wonder the chanteuse has a devoted following, and lucky for fans she’s treating Las Vegas to a fantastic residency.
The set of shows that began just before the new year marks a return to the stage following her Together Again 2023 Tour, which was her first post-pandemic venture. It’s also Jackson’s first time back in Las Vegas since her previous Metamorphosis residency, which took over Dolby Live at Park MGM in 2019. The tour skipped over Vegas, but Jackson is surely making it up to Sin City crowds with her current run, Janet Jackson: Las Vegas. The pop icon could stun with nothing more than a single
spotlight and a microphone, but with the elaborate production capabilities that the Resorts World Theatre o ers, she shines and her music truly comes to life.
This isn’t just another concert—it’s an all-out spectacle. Talented dancers don some of the most fashionable garb while their crisp movements accent Jackson’s slightly softer yet still sharp dance moves. An array of set pieces and lighting equipment make for a dynamic backdrop, morphing seamlessly between maximalist, high-energy numbers and beautifully designed moments of simplicity. Plus, the singer created medleys of many of her most popular tunes, so you get to hear more than 40 of her hits. You heard that right, 40! That means that whatever your favorite Jackson tune is, you're practically guaranteed to hear it.
Definitely expect to hear favorites like “Rock With U,” “Escapade” and “Miss You Much.” And of course, it simply wouldn’t be a Janet Jackson concert without “What Have You Done for Me Lately” (spoken word intro included, of course) and “Rhythm Nation.” Audiences will be much delighted by
axs.com
some exceptionally special treats like a version of “Velvet Rope” that Jackson hasn’t performed live since 1999 and “I Want You” in concert for the first time. Even if you've seen the superstar in concert before, this is a show you do not want to miss.
The show includes short interludes that allow Jackson time for costume changes, and each time the star reappears, it’s as if she’s stepping onto the stage for the first time. Each outfit is as glamorous and modern as the last with chunky boots and formal wear being continuous themes.
And each section of the show brings something unexpected. One moment Jackson sings atop a narrow pillar that elevates her above an array of blue, laser-like light beams, the next she vocalizes bathed in a warm glow that slowly becomes obstructed by a floating sphere that later transforms into a giant disco ball.
Oh, and you can bet the diva’s wind machines are working overtime, blowing her beautiful honey-blonde locks back in just the right ways.
Jackson is larger than life. And so is this show.
