Looking for a new project or one that’s already restored? Take a look at some for sale by private individuals & from classic car dealers too!
A stroll through a classic car show can sure bring back memories — especially for the visitors who grew up attending shows and now reminisce on the “good ole days.” It can also be a great opportunity to create new memories with your children or grandchildren.
Coming to the Rod Run and hearing people’s memories of the cars their folks had, or a friend of theirs in high school had, is all part of the ambiance that makes these shows so great.
Everybody remembers their first car and the feeling of freedom driving their friends around town in a really cool set of wheels. Maybe they even recall the cross-country trip they spent in the back seat of their parents’ car... or their very first car show.
Keeping that in mind, I just want to suggest this: take your time, talk to those around you, like other show goers, or those who brought their car to showcase. Find out their stories — what made them choose that car or that color? You may find inspiration for your own projects and make new friends.
In this fast paced world where people would rather post a “Happy Birthday” meme on your Facebook instead of calling you, don’t leave the Rod Run without making a few human connections.

Who is Scott’s Hotrods ‘N Customs?
Scott’s Hotrods ‘n Customs officially opened its doors back in 1996 with one employee, Justin Scott Padfield. Since then, Justin has methodically grown his business from a small 2,500-sq/ft shop in Ventura, California to its current 20,000-sq/ ft facility in beautiful Knoxville, Tennessee.
Scott’s Hotrods employs some of the best quality sheet metal fabricators in the industry. They can transform a flat sheet of steel into many pieces of art that eventually create a completely scratchbuilt custom vehicle. Scott’s Hotrods is the only shop to ever win America’s Most Beautiful Roadster Award (AMBR) Back-toBack in 2008 & 2010 at the Grand National Roadster Show. “Undisputed” stunned the crowds in 2008 and “Possessed” blew everyone away in 2010. The combination of hand-crafted bodies and custom oneoff machined parts on these roadsters transcends into every custom vehicle the team at Scott’s Hotrods builds.
The new facility in Knoxville, Tennessee is already filling up inside with many new & old tools & machines making Scott’s Hotrods one of the most well-equipped shops in the custom car building and suspension manufacturing world. Some of the tools in the shop include: English Wheel, Planishing Hammer, Kraftformer, Brake, Shear, Iron Worker, Press Brake, PullMax, Power Hammer, Slip Roll, Radius Bender, Mandrel Bender, Bead Roller, Magnetic Brake, HD Plasma table, 4 CNC Mills, 3 CNC Lathes and more!
This 1951 Chevrolet 3100 truck belongs to our great customer. He originally purchased the chassis and was going to do the rest of the build himself, but decided he wanted a professional shop to handle it. He contacted a
well-known hot rod shop near his home, but they did not want to build it with a Scott’s Hotrods Chassis. That really turned off our customer and caused him to give us a call about building it the way he wanted. Stay tuned for updates and visit us online to see 100’s of photos detailing everything!! www.scottshotrods.com
The Detail Zone - Fuel Injection Wiring
The Telorvek design has been around for over 25 years. The Telorvek panel is a link between the engine sensors and computer. This allows the adjustment of wire lengths to create an exceptionally neat installation along with the advantages of superior troubleshooting plus you can mount the computer anywhere inside the vehicle.
All Detail Zone fuel Injection systems include necessary connectors for that particular application, including single or dual fans when required. These systems are complete and operate the engine in closed loop, which allows the engine to RUN LIKE FACTORY. Diagnostic Scan Tool connections and Malfunction Indicator Lamp Circuits (MIL) are supplied for each application, allowing the system to be scanned at any OEM dealer or repair facility.
No one offers fuel injection systems that duplicate the original GM and Ford circuitry as well as ours do. Telorvek is the only name you can trust when it comes
to EFI wiring. Our units provide performance, gas mileage and drive-ability like a factory system. Typically no special prom changes, computer reprogramming or trick parts are necessary. We supply the correct, new GM or Ford connectors, as required along with crosslink, fire resistant wire. The wires are printed every 10 inches with the sensor and terminal it connects to (example: TPS->10). The kits come with 20 feet of wire for each sensor that is simply trimmed to length, terminals installed and connected to the Telorvek panel. This allows the engine computer to be put under the front or rear seat or the trunk if desired. Some panel models contain fuel pump and cooling fan relays in the panel cover as required.
Another advantage of the Telorvek design is the capability of using the panel as a breakout box that Ford and some GM diagnostic procedures require to take voltage readings of different circuits. This can easily be accomplished off the terminal block on the Telorvek panel. All models of the panel have the service engine
soon light built into the cover and the wiring is also provided for a dash-mounted light. Any GM or Ford dealership will appreciate the clarity of the Telorvek system and immediately understand its design. If space under the dash is limited this is an excellent kit to install.
The Detail Zone has an extensive list of Electronic Fuel Injection harnesses for 1985 and newer engines. Our application lists show which model engine fuel management harnesses are a precise replacement. In cases where we do not show your engine year but an earlier model is available, we can usually supply you with the older model wiring that will operate the newer engine with changes in components, sensors or other parts for the engine. This change usually requires obtaining the older model PCM.
Check these and other wiring supplies at Ron Francis Wiring: www.ronfrancis.com

“Our Family Serving Your Family”
If you are covered by a typical insurance policy, you may be paying too much and paying for the wrong kind of coverage. Standard automobile policies may not offer Agreed Value Coverage, so in the event of a loss, you will be offered a settlement amount (Actual Cash Value) less than what it will cost to replace your “pride and joy”. There’s more, standard auto policies don’t always give a price discount for the “care, custody and control” you give your collector automobile. In short, standard auto policies do not reflect an understanding of how fine collector cars are maintained and enjoyed.
However, we at Farris Insurance Agency Inc. can offer you an insurance program that really demonstrates the value and the uniqueness of your vintage or classic car(s). We can give you a better solution by working with experts who are collectors themselves. Grundy Worldwide, Hagerty Insurance and American Collectors, have been insuring these special vehicles for almost 50 years. We provide peace of mind protection to over 4000 car collector individuals and families.
Program Features:
• Coverage for individual cars and collections.
• Agreed Value Coverage.
• High liability limits.
• Unlimited “hobby” mileage.
• $0 deductible, NC has $50 deductibles.
• Prompt, fair claim service.
• Competitively priced.
• Excellent customer service. We have 30+ years writing collectors and collections.
It’s time to save some money, get a great rate on your collector car and have the “peace of mind” that comes from a job well done!

Happy Days is an television sitcom that aired first-run on the ABC network from January 15, 1974, to July 19, 1984, with a total of 255 half-hour episodes spanning 11 seasons.
Created by Garry Marshall, it was
one of the most successful series of the 1970s. The series presented an idealized vision of life in the 1950s and early 1960s Midwestern United States.
The series began as an unsold pilot starring Howard, Ross and
Anson Williams, which aired in 1972 as a segment titled “Love and the Television Set” (later retitled “Love and the Happy Days” for syndication) on ABC’s anthology show Love, American Style. The first two seasons of Happy Days focused on the experiences and dilemmas of “innocent teenager” Richie Cunningham, his family, and his high school friends, attempting to “honestly depict a wistful look back at adolescence”.
Happy Days became the numberone program in television in 1976–1977. The series also spawned a number of spin-offs, including Laverne & Shirley and Mork & Mindy.
Danny Most - Did You Know? Ralph Malph A Crooner?!?!
Every Tuesday Night from 1974-1980, Donny Most appeared in living rooms across America in the iconic television sitcom “Happy Days.”
More than 40 years later, the veteran singer/actor is still trying to shake free from the shadow of the memorable, bubblegum-chewing teenager he portrayed — Ralph Malph, Richie Cunningham’s sweet but clueless wisecracking buddy.
Don’t get him wrong. Most will always be proud of his supporting role in one of the most popular television shows of the 1970s. But at age 68, Most would prefer to be just as well known for his main passion — singing.
“More and more people are getting to know this but a lot of people still don’t: Singing is my first love. I was doing that before acting,’’ he said in an interview last week from his Deerfield Beach hotel, where he was relaxing before a performance in Boca Raton. “I want people to know that.’’
More than 50 years after making his professional debut as a 14-year-old crooner in the Catskills, Most is still belting out jazz, swing and big band standards and classics from the American songbook.
He performs in clubs from Los Angeles to New York. He has released several albums. On Dec. 18, he was a special guest at the Holiday Jukebox, a concert hosted by American Idol finalist Haley Reinhart and singer Dave Damiani at the Boca Black Box Center for the Arts in Boca Raton.
But his struggles to reach a wider audience can be blamed on the general public’s struggles to reconcile how the guy who so memorably played TV goofball Ralph Malph can sing like Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett.
When they come to the show they’re so surprised: ‘Holy cow! We didn’t know you could sing like this! How come you didn’t sing more in ‘Happy Days?’’’
Anson Williams - Did You Know? Potsie for Mayor!
The latest celebrity to run for office in California is 72-year-old Anson Williams, who played dopey Potsie on Happy Days and has tossed his hat in the ring to become mayor of Ojai.
The Nov. 8 election will see Williams challenge incumbent Betsy Stix on a platform that includes developing a sustainable tourism infrastructure, shuttle services on weekends for major events, expansion of bike paths and trails, solar incentives and a graywater system for hotels and golf courses, among many other proposed initiatives. Anson told The Hollywood Reporter, “Not only are things not being done or completed, but there’s a division in the community that won’t continue under my leadership,” explained Williams.
In 2011, I was thinking about my kids [at the time], and I wanted to get to a fail-safe community that could be a very positive experience for them. I had always loved Ojai through the years and come up to spend a weekend or go hiking. It’s always been a very special, loving and kind community where I felt the best of me, so that’s when we decided to move, but still maintained our home in LA.
I moved permanently more than four years ago after having a personal situation come up, which came after a really scary time in my life when I had colon cancer. The cancer wasn’t a big deal as they were able to fix that, but I had a lot of complications in the hospital that ended up being quite precarious. A four-day stay ended up a month. But I survived it and now I’m great, thank goodness. But the personal problems in my life left me pretty broken and just so depressed. I really needed to kind of fire up again in life. Slowly, this community embraced me and brought me back. I owe a lot to Ojai for that, for my health, my sanity and the ability to move forward.
When it came to politics, I really became perturbed at the division I saw happening in Ojai. It hit right down the center because of disinformation, backdoor politics and shadowy situations. The can kept getting kicked down the street and it seemed like nothing was getting done to keep our city secure and thriving, sustainability-wise. I saw it was becoming a mess, and someone asked me to run for mayor. At first, I thought it was a crazy, crazy idea.
