The GMP+ Academy: a common purpose It is our Vision that everybody should have access to safe food of animal origin, regardless of who they are and where they live. This is why every company in the animal feed chain should be committed to safe feed. To achieve this, it is our Mission to deploy a feed certification scheme that makes it easier for companies to contribute to safe feed. To keep our scheme and community up-todate, we gather valuable information regarding feed safety assurance and share it worldwide. To bring this together to the market, the GMP+ Academy was established. The mission of the GMP+ Academy is to enable professionals in the feed chain to contribute to feed safety worldwide by facilitating, sharing and securing knowledge. In our vision, the only way to accomplish this, is together with partners. Therefore we seek to establish partnerships with organisations in the feed industry, trainers, consultants and knowledge institutions.

'Harvesting the power of knowledge, together!' Roland van der Post Managing Director, GMP+ International

Collective Feed Industry Knowledge Program

Challenges for feed companies The need to share knowledge To lower feed safety risks, companies in the feed chain, especially operating internationally, have the need to distribute knowledge about feed safety within their own organisation and towards their suppliers.

Needs differ widely The needs for actual knowledge, new insights and skills on Feed Safety differ widely between regions and sectors. Therefore, sometimes it is hard to acquire or maintain the right knowledge and skills to manage feed safety risks.

Financial and or time resources It is not always feasible to create specific training materials about relevant feed safety topics due to a lack of financial or time resources or specific knowledge.

Collective Feed Industry Knowledge Program

Collective Knowledge Program With the mission of the GMP+ Academy, GMP+ International wants to enable professionals in the feed chain to contribute to feed safety worldwide by facilitating, sharing and securing knowledge. GMP+ International will establish a Collective Knowledge Program and invites industry partners to participate, in order to co-create (non-competitive) basic e-learning modules and other training materials. The GMP+ Academy will facilitate the development and distribution of this. It is efficient to work together with partner companies, which have the experience, financial means and network resources to create new learning and training materials in an effecient, non-competitive way. Instead of funding every Learning and Development project individually, companies could work together by jointly funding and developing training materials.

It is our goal to bring together companies and develop knowledge and training materials and link this actively with the feed industry worldwide. If needed, the GMP+ Academy will take the lead in carrying out research and development of basic training materials like e-learning modules, that can be used by individuals as well as in training activities of partners in specific regions / market segments.

December 2020

GMP+ Academy Proposal Partner companies and GMP+ International jointly: • Establish the Collective Knowledge Program Group. • Create an advisory committee for defining topics and priorities for the development of e-learning modules that are of common (non-competitive) interest • Create a fund to cover the costs in developing the e-learning modules • Provide project groups with experts and practical information as input for developing e-learning modules

GMP+ International (GMP+ Academy) will be facilitator by means of: • Coordination and management in the development of e-learning materials • Distribution of e-learning materials, good practices, trainings and new insights from research
