Laser Therapy With the Modulo 200, you perform safe, efficient and practical Laser Therapy for local or reflexive biostimulation.

Local biostimulation

To start off right: MODULO 200 BASE

In Local Stimulation, it is important to reach the group of cells that you want to stimulate (the target), with the energy required. You choose the power (15, 40, 75W) according to the depth of penetration desired, then the frequency or programme of frequencies that corresponds to your therapeutic indications. The 40W Superpulsed IR Laser Module is particularly well-adapted to this use.

Reflexive stimulation

+

For the stimulation of reflex points (trigger points, gate control points,...), or to practise Acupuncture without needles, high power reaches your target through the tissue. Some points are superficial, others are deeper.Choose from between the Pulsed 15W laser Module, the Pulsed 40W IR laser Module and the Pulsed 75W IR laser Module, (higher power reaches deeper points). Use the Pulsed 15W laser Module to treat points located on sensitive zones.

40W SUPERPULSED IR LASER MODULE [MOD-37]

+ 15W PULSED IR LASER MODULE [MOD-32]

In Auricular therapy, deep penetration is useless, as the pinna is only a few millimetres thick. The Infrared Microlaser and Pulsed 15W IR laser Modules are particularly recommended.

Very practical innovation in local application THE 40W SUPERPULSED IR LASER MODULE This super pulsed laser Module provides relatively high peak power (40W) to reach all targeted cells, as well as applying constant energy regardless of the treatment frequency selected, by using bursts of pulses instead of single pulses. Especially choose the frequency for the type of treatment, the duration of application for the quantity of energy. This Module is very well adapted for surface and deep treatment.

To choose the right Module, two things must be taken into account: − the required emission time so the receptors of the targeted cells receive the sequential information provided by the pulses − the quantity of energy required to induce a sufficient reaction in the biological cell structures • The physiological time If, at the cell level, the biological response times are extremely short, it is reasonable to think that an entire group of cells must be stimulated, over several seconds of irradiation, so the body can feel the stimulus, integrate it and launch the process of homeostatic regulation and balancing. The pulses last a very short time (less than 90 nanoseconds), but repeating them effectively stimulates a sufficient cell volume to obtain a measurable physiological effect. • The quantity required The dosage unit is usually expressed in Joules(J)/cm2. This unit is relevant in local Laser Therapy, on greater or smaller surfaces or volumes. It’s a simple calculation with the 40W Superpulsed IR Laser Module, which provides 1J/30seconds.

It is not well-adapted to occasional use of the Modulo 200, when treating reflexive auricular zones or points. The hyper-energetic pulse, only lasting a few nanoseconds, causes no thermodestruction as the average emission power always remains less than 45 milliwatts. In the case of SuperPulsed emission, the unique pulse is replaced by

W

single pulse

a burst of pulses. To obtain constant distributed energy regardless of the treatment frequency, this burst of pulses lasts a half-period of the treatment frequency. Thus, for half the time that separates 2 burst beginnings, the laser pulses come at a high frequency. The emission frequency of the bursts remains the treatment frequency selected

Application of Laser stimulation does not require special technique. Just direct the beam coming out of the handset towards the point to be treated. To obtain good penetration in the tissue, keep the end of the handset perpendicular to the surface, and in contact if the skin is healthy. In the event of damaged skin, select a treatment without contact, in direct vision of the injury (without bandages or other screens that could attenuate the radiation) and at a maximum distance of 1 cm. During the treatment, place the end of the handset in succession on the different points (acupuncture, auricular therapy points, "gate control", trigger point...etc.) that you wish to stimulate. You then choose the time of treatment point by point.

Laser Therapy Medicine using sophisticated electronic technology The L.A.S.E.R. is coherent, monochrome electromagnetic radiation, using a concentrated beam of photons. It is the result of technology, as it does not exist naturally. A photon is a particle of energy that is permanently vibrating. Its wavelength (expressed in nanometres and inversely proportional to its frequency) can be in the Ultraviolet (1-400nm) the visible (400-800nm) or the Infra-red (800nm- 1mm)). Its energy is inversely proportional to its wavelength. High energy photons (gamma, X-rays,

UV, where the wavelength is less than 320nm) are capable of breaking molecular links, and therefore have ionising potential (destruction, mutation,‌). Low energy photons (visible, near IR, microwaves) can excite atoms and cause heat that can be very intense (used in surgery for example), modifying the molecular ste-

reotaxy, but they never cause mutations. In laser emission, all photons have the same wavelength and are emitted at the same time. The consequence of these characteristics is a concentration of space/time energy and an electromagnetic field that can be used to interact with living tissue.

The graph shows the absorption coefficient for water, haemoglobin and melanin, be wavelength. It shows that, for the wavelength emitted by the infra-red laser Modules (905 nm), the absorption by these substances is very weak and therefore the coefficient of penetration is very high.

As a result, the luminous emission at this wavelength crosses the cutaneous barrier without difficulty to reach deep cell where, absorbed, it becomes energy.

Pulsed emission: a fundamental choice W emission continuous

emission modulated

emission superpulsed

time T 1/2 T

The emission of laser radiation can be continuous, modulated, pulsed or superpulsed. The therapeutic effect of the laser is thus radically modified. Continuous, it is necessarily low power, to avoid burning the tissue. Energy penetration is therefore reduced: these lasers are recommended for surface treatment (injuries, dermatitis ‌). Modulation is a variation of the continuous mode. In practice, emission is repeatedly interrupted, at a defined rhythm, and with programmed emission and stop times. The technology is the same as continuous low power emission. The idea here is to provide energy, as with continuous emission, but by applying a cadenced luminosity whose effect has been proven to be largely superior to constant luminosity (habituation of the biological receptors).

In pulsed emission, the laser radiation is emitted for very short periods called pulses. The pulses last less than 90 ns and are repeated at one of the therapeutic Nogier frequencies (U or A to G with the % of variation). An initial advantage of this mode of pulse is to provide laser radiation at the power required to penetrate to the deepest cells, at the time of the pulse peak (peak at 15, 40 or 75 watts). These are therefore irradiated very rapidly but with enough energy to trigger the expected biological reaction. In Superpulsed emission, the pulses are replaced by bursts of pulses at a high frequency.

Dispersion in the tissue is generally ovoid. The absorption capacity of the tissue obviously limits the diffusion of the photons in depth: the more absorbent the tissue, the fewer photons pass through. But this absorption capacity is quantitatively limited. If enough energy is imparted, a significant proportion of this energy reaches the deepest tissue. This relationship is calculated by volume and not linearly. Simply put, the peak power reflects this capacity to reach the deepest or shallowest targets, for a given wavelength and tissue. The recommended dosages must be respected, otherwise too many receptors are saturated and the organism’s reaction inverts (inhibition instead of stimulation).

Another advantage of pulsed emission is being able to emit these Laser pulses at very specific frequencies:

Frequency Therapy with NOGIER Frequencies Doctor Paul Nogier discovered the importance of certain frequencies experimentally in the 1970s, by examining the radial pulse, called Nogier Pulses. They have since been confirmed by the work of a number of practitioners and experiments. Dr Nogier defined 7 fundamental frequencies, a geometric series, called A (2.28Hz), B (4.56Hz), C (9.12Hz), D (18.25Hz), E (36.5Hz), F (73Hz) and G (146Hz).

In short, each fundamental frequency has therapeutic applications. These are the main applications: Frequency A: tissue troubles -

He noted the same efficiency of the upper harmonics of these frequencies. Their action is clinically identical, which seems to show that the biological receptors can identify the active frequency over several octaves, according to their window of sensitivity. The frequency U (1.14 Hz) was defined as the Universal, fundamental frequency.

Cutaneous affections (injuries, epithelial tumours,…) Troubles with cellular multiplication Reactive "contact" problems, epidermal reactions Referring to exteroceptivity Degenerative affections, aplasia or hyperplasia

Frequency B: metabolic problems -

Inflammatory pathologies Trophic troubles Parasympathetic polarity troubles Referring to interoceptivity

Frequency C: locomotive problems - Kinetic, paretic or myoclonic pathology - Orthosympathetic polarity trouble

For each variation of environment, or specific stimulation, the cell or organ responds with an immediate, appropriate reaction, targeting the maintenance of homeostasis.

Frequency D: laterality troubles - Inter-hemisphere blocks

Frequency E: organised rachidian system, reflex arc - Nerve pain and conduction - Medullar affections

Superior organisms have developed a complex network of specific receptors connected to integrating nerve centres, and the analytical and response diagrams for each stimulus identified by its frequency code. Certain frequency stimulations are thus used in common medical practice as they are preferentially recognised by the organism. Even if there is still much to discover biochemically, it can be legitimately supposed that they are in a state of resonance with certain cell receptors and induce a specific effect in the organism. The therapeutic frequencies used in the Modulo 200 are the Nogier Frequencies, universally recognised.

Frequency F: brain, central controls - Dysmetabolism (bone reconstruction) - Dysesthesia - Dyskinesia

Frequency G: cerebral cortex - Cortical troubles - Psychic troubles

Anatomical correspondence : Dr Paul Nogier’s mapping displays the zones of projection of these frequencies, on the body and the ear. Local action of certain frequencies, at the cell level, can improve tissue function: for example by directly stimulating the activity of the fibroblasts, as part of scar treatment.

The frequencies can also be selected by deduction of the frequencies likely to be useful for specific functional re-equilibrium. You should thus choose: - frequency A for inflammation, - frequency B for arthritic phenomena - frequency C for muscular contractions - frequency D to improve laterality problems - frequency E for pain - frequency F to improve scarring and issue regeneration - frequency G for central pain Then project these frequencies on the pathological zones (loco dolentis), favouring the Laser Modules, for one to 2 minutes, once or twice a week. Practice Auricular medicine In Auricular medicine, you look for the Nogier pulse to diagnose your patient’s energy. To stimulate it, apply very low power cutaneous stimulation. Scrolling through the Nogier Frequencies and their variations lets you evaluate the different physiological disorders. With the diagnosis finished, you then apply personalised Frequency Therapy, until regularisation of the Nogier Pulse confirms your therapy. In Auricular medicine, the Modulo 200 lets you use other Modules for different types of stimulation (electrical, luminous, laser,…). ALL the Modules provide attenuated emission, for diagnosis by Nogier pulse, and normal emission for treatment.

The Nogier pulse During his research in 1960-70, Doctor Nogier demonstrated the physical particularity of the radial pulse, when it approached different stimuli of the ear or body of his patients. Called RAC, then VAS or Nogier Pulse, this phenomenon is sought and felt by all practitioners of Auricular medicine. It is defined as a sensation of increased amplitude of the pulse. The Nogier Pulse has not been clearly demonstrated experimentally. But the results obtained by practitioners confirm its diagnostic interest. This sensation produces the integration by the Central Nervous System of the information received by the skin from a specific stimulus. It is therefore not a reflex in the traditional (medullar) sense as the upper centres are mobilised.

Mechanical stimulation of the skin (by simple contact or strong pressure) leads to the creation of a Nogier Pulse. But other stimuli, in particular colours, magnetic fields, sound frequencies, laser radiation, filters, etc. can also stimulate a response correlated to the stimulus. Cutaneous photoperception and Nogier Pulses are intimately linked.

With the

The reaction of the body reaction lets the practitioner develop the diagnosis, detect positive or negative information, allergies or intoxications then make a decision and apply treatment using the useful frequency information. The Modulo 200 is particularly well-adapted for practising Auricular medicine, with the variety and quality of stimuli it can provide, and its ease of use.

The Nogier Pulse lets the practitioner analyse micro-information from the selected stimulations, for information on the energy state of the patient and the capacities of the organism to react. Finding the Nogier Pulse takes practice and experience. There are numerous training programmes and publications available for this, although nothing replaces personal research into this original sensation.

Applying micro-currents

Micro-currents modify, in the sense of a return to normal, membrane potentials and local ionic balances. They encourage ATP synthesis. ATP is cellular energy that is indispensable for all vital cell mechanisms. In particular ATP maintains the active exchanges of the intra- and extra-cellular vital minerals, and encourages protein and constituent membrane synthesis, and therefore regeneration of the damaged structures. Micro-currents also re-establish normal conductivity within the damaged tissue. This damage generates higher local resistance that

prevents normal passage of the endogenous biological electric currents. These endogenous currents are indispensable for cellular metabolism and the micro-circulation of fluids. In particular, they allow proper oxygenation, limiting the destructive oxidative process. They noticeably diminish pain and increase the rapidity of repair, limiting inflammatory reactions. Re-establishing them is an active part of healing. By modulating these micro-currents using the Nogier Frequencies, additional

information is provided to the local tissues, overall reflex path of the organism, and the entire organism. The choice of frequencies used is made according to the bases defined by Dr Paul Nogier (see previous page). The micro-currents are therefore applied locally, around the damaged zone, with one (Direct or Differential Electrical Module) or more (Acutrode Module) pulsed electrodes, with the electric circuit closed by an external grounding electrode.

Micro-currents are radically different from TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nervous Stimulation) in that they have a specific action mechanism, which is not completely understood but which takes place at the cellular level, without directly involving the nerve pathways.
