Graduate degree designed for alternative certification
• 33 hours (11 classes) which include Education courses in classroom management, methods of teaching and lesson planning, and using technology in the classroom
• All classes are offered online or hybrid
Two tracks:
0 12-hour semester of student teaching + 21 hours of course work
0 6-hours of Practicum (can be done in your classroom) +27 hours of course work

Special Education Boot Camp (offered summer & fall at CU)
0 Must have a Bachelor’s degree
0 Must have a 2.75 GPA
0 Complete certification requirement coursework and all teacher testing within 3 years

• Summer Session Begins May 24th; Class sessions will meet face-to-face, with the option to Zoom and will be held from 4:30-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evenings AND there is an online component (hybrid), plus a 30-hour field component in the public school

• Boot camp qualifications:

0 Bachelor’s Degree with a 2.5
0 1 year’s experience as a paraprofessional in a public school
0 Receive Certificate and Begin Teaching
0 Within 3 years, complete 12 hours (must include 3 hours in reading instruction)
TESTING: OSAT prior to certification; 3 years to pass PPAT
M.Ed. with Literacy Concentration Recommended
