ARCOS HOUSE Let yourself be seduced by the charm of our Green. The development ArcosHouse, recognized as a Nature Tourism Enterprise by lhe ICNF, Natural.pt, GreenKey and also recently awarded Gold for Tripadvisor's category "Slope Greenleaders", is located in the Rural Village of Oussias Carralcova, about 15km from the village of Arcos de Valdevez. It is a very quiet village in a mountain area where farming and livestock farming prevails. The development started from the idea of rebuilding/restauring one of the deteriorated houses of this village and making it adequate for modern living but without compromising its traditional appearance. Thus offering to those who visit us an agglomeration of recovered houses linked to the concept of tourism in rural space. The houses are in rustic appearance and available as studio, 1,2 or 3 bedrooms. All our houses are equipped with kitchens/kitchenettes, wifi, all with access to a communal swimming pool, some of them with private Jacuzzis, sauna, fireplaces, grills, air conditioning, everything to guarantee our guests a pleasant stay. MIRADOURO DO CASTELO ANIMALS IN THE WILD The mountain goat or ibex became extinct in Portugal in the late nineteenth century probably due to excessive hunting. As part of a Spanish reintroduction program 18 mountain goats were transferred to acclimatization sites located in the Natural Park of the Xurés (Galicia, Spain) mountain, near PNPG. At the end of 1998, some of these animals have accidentally escaped from their enclosures and had populated PenedaGerês National Park. Even with predators, the ibex has thrived in the region thanks to the very favourable relief and good feeding conditions. It is estimated that the Portuguese side currently houses about 450 animals.
