Our Story Robert Godin began making guitars in rural Quebec out of a passion for music and craftsmanship. His dedication to quality and ingenuity has allowed Godin to become one of North America’s largest guitar manufacturers. We provide players all around the world with guitars that are unique, diverse, and effortlessly enjoyable. Now, 46 years later, that same passion drives the next generation of Godin Guitars by Robert’s two sons, Simon and Patrick. Our guitars continue to evolve and shake up the industry through modern designs, thoughtful refinement, and a commitment to handwork.

“It’s an amazing and dynamic guitar that will improve live Gypsy Jazz guitar playing in any setting. From small, noisy cafés to main stage events in front of thousands, this guitar outperforms any traditional setup. Gone are the days of noisy feedback from miked gypsy guitars that constrain high-volume performances. The structure provides a traditional Django acoustic sound, and its unique electronic tonal palette allows you to experiment with sounds used later in his career!” - François «Le Mitraille» Rioux & Byron «Maiden» Mikaloff, The Lost Fingers

Comfortable as that old pair of jeans, the Roadhouse is a slope-shouldered parlor reminiscent of the iconic ‘blues boxes’ that were the musical travel companion for many a freight-trainhopping and hitchhiking musician.

Canadian Made. Globally Played. Our goal with each guitar is to find the perfect balance between the finest traditions of guitar crafting and the new design concepts that we are developing. After 46 years of guitar building, we still finish the necks by hand on every Godin guitar. In fact, from fretting to sanding, there is more handwork in our guitars than you would find in most custom shops. From the selection of the wood to the final adjustments on the finished product, each of our instruments is designed and built by people who love guitars. Exploring these possibilities is what Godin is all about.
