NERF COMBAT We will transform the gym into an arena for the kids to battle and play fun competitive games. Each week we will have skill challenges where the kids will get to practice and compete in different aspects of Nerf Combat, and then we will have an all-out battle to end out each week. Nerf has many benefits including teamwork, exercise, disciplined fun and learning to balance competition with good sportsmanship. Each child MUST have eye protection to participate. They may bring their own guns, but we will provide the “ammo” in order to prevent losing their equipment. Code

Special Recreation THE SPECIAL RECREATION SERVICES OF NORTHERN LAKE COUNTY
CREATING A PATH TO MORE EXERCISE AND BETTER FOOD CHOICES
The Zion Park District in association with the Lindenhurst Park District, Round Lake Park District and Waukegan Park District have formed the Special Recreation Services of Northern Lake County. As an extension of the Park Districts, SRSNLC will provide a diverse range of year round recreational activities to enable the residents with disabilities, of the Zion community, as well as member communities, to experience active, healthy, and playful lifestyles.
SRSNLC & Northpointe Resources have joined together to offer a health & wellness class. Together we will explore how exercise, eating fruit and vegetables, and drinking water are important parts of our everyday life. Through creative discussion and activities we will discuss and learn ways to “Create A Path” towards exercise and better food choices. This program will incorporate materials from the HealthMatters Program: an evidenced based curriculum that incorporates the concepts choice, selfdetermination, self-efficacy, self-advocacy, rights and responsibility.
• Special Recreation Services puts people first by providing opportunities for health and fitness through the many sports programs available. • Special Recreation Services puts people first by providing year round social opportunities through recreation. • Special Recreation Services puts people first by providing quality inclusion assistance. Please contact Teresa Hayhurst at the Zion Park District office of the Special Recreation Services of Northern Lake County at 847-7465500 Ext. 1446, if you have questions, suggestions or would like to get involved as a participant or volunteer. The Zion Park District’s Special Recreation Services of Northern Lake County office is located at the Zion Park District Leisure Center, 2400 Dowie Memorial Dr., Zion, IL 60099. NON-RESIDENT INFORMATION Non-residents are welcome to participate in Zion Park District programs and activities. Many of these programs require that a non-resident pay an additional out-of-district fee. The nonresident fee options are listed below. 1. Single program fee – This is an additional fee paid per program. The amount varies with each program. Check individual program listings. 2. Pass fee – This is an additional fee paid when a season pass is purchased. The amount varies according to the type of pass purchased. These fees are listed next to the pass prices. 3. League Fee - $15.00 – This is an additional fee paid per sport. For example: A non-resident summer softball player would pay $15.00 at the beginning of the season. This would cover her for all summer softball programs. Another fee would have to be paid for another type of sport, or the same sport in a different season (i.e. volleyball, fall softball). This fee is not refundable. Often times a question arises as to who is a resident of the Park District. A resident must live within the boundaries of Zion Park District. It’s sometimes easy to confuse residency with a Zion mailing address. Many people in the area surrounding Zion have a five-digit Zion mailing address. These five-digit addresses are located in the county and are not within the boundaries of Zion Park District. A tax bill, voter registration card, or vehicle sticker receipt will help to establish your residency. The park district staff will be glad to answer any questions you may have regarding these fees.
