Winter 2020
Family Resource Center of Zion
The Heartbeat of FRCZ Ultrasound Program Potential Thank you for being a part of the FRCZ family. As we announced at the 2019 banquet, we are looking to add to our services. With God's leading we have organized a steering committee and are looking into the details of implementing an Ultrasound Program at our current location. If you have not had the opportunity to look over the proposal, please go to our website www.FRCZion.org (under Donor/Support drop down) or contact the center 847-731-8370. Through this journey, God has provided each step of the way and we trust that he will continue to do just that. Proverbs 20:18 says, "Plans succeed through good counsel; don't go to war without wise advice." We can not truly enter the war on abortion without wise advice. We want to hear from you. When we have the support, we will move forward and implement the program. Please go online or contact the center to fill out our survey.

CELEBRATE Family Resource Center of Zion (FRCZ) incorporated in August of 2010 after serving the community for 5 years under the auspices of Care Net Family Resource Center in Kenosha, WI. FRCZ has always been an informational and educational ministry that is not involved in politics and is not judgmental to those who come for help or call for information. The ministry of FRCZ is unashamedly Christian, desiring not only to meet the physical and emotional needs of the clients, but spiritual needs as well. This comes through client interaction with our trained and caring staff and volunteers. FRCZ does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, national origin, age, marital status or religious beliefs of its clients. We see the Christian Gospel message as the ultimate answer for life’s problems and we communicate as such. However, everyone is treated equally whether or not they embrace the Christian faith. The Board, Staff and volunteers of FRCZ see this ministry as providing a vital service to the extended community, by meeting needs no one else is addressing and enriching the lives of our clients, for the benefit of the communities we serve. Thank you for the role you played in reaching out for the cause of Christ this last decade! Please, join us in celebration as we plan and prepare for the next 10 years!

Volunteer Spotlight Again this year we would like for you to get to know some of the people who keep FRCZ moving forward. This edition we would like to introduce you to: Dr. Dennis McCreary—Dennis and his wife, Tina have been life long advocates to babies. Much of his medical career has been spent right here, serving the residents of Zion and surrounding communities. The McCrearys joined the FRCZ family in 2019, as Dennis took on the role of Medical Supervisor for the potential Ultrasound Program.
Rhoda Shipman—Rhoda joined us in 2019. She is one of our main boutique volunteers. She brings great organizational skills and her easy going personality brings much joy to all. She and her husband, Gary and their 3 children have been a part of the Zion community for many years.
Valerie Brandt —Valerie and her husband Tom have been a part of the FRCZ family possibly since the beginning. Valerie came back to volunteer in the boutique in 2019. We are also grateful that she does not limit her volunteering to the boutique, she helps wherever she is needed.
Margie Traynor — Margie has a very unique volunteer position, so unique that there is no title for it! Margie is walking us through our medical conversion and helping gather the information needed to implement of our proposed Ultrasound Program. We are looking forward to her future with the FRCZ family.

In the News Please pray for our nation and our world More human beings died in abortions than any other cause of death in 2019, a new report indicates. A heartbreaking reminder about the prevalence of abortion, statistics compiled by Worldometers indicate that there were over 42.3 million abortions world-wide in 2019. The independent site collects data from governments and other reputable organizations and then reports the data, along with estimates and projections, based on those numbers. When contrasting the abortion numbers to other causes of death, including cancer, HIV/AIDS, traffic accidents and suicide, abortions far outnumbered every other cause. By contrast, 8.2 million people died from cancer in 2019, 5 million from smoking, 13 million from disease, and 1.7 million died of HIV/AIDS. Deaths by malaria and alcohol are also recorded. Worldometers estimates about 58.6 million deaths world-wide in 2019, but that number does not include unborn babies’ abortion deaths. Unborn babies are not recognized as human beings even though biology indicates that they are unique, living human beings from the moment of conception and they die brutal, violent deaths in abortions. The abortion number is incomprehensible, but each of those 42 million abortions represents a living human being whose life was violently destroyed in their mother’s womb. Each unborn baby already had their own unique DNA, making them distinct from their mother. That DNA indicated if the child was a boy or girl, their eye and hair color, their height, possible genetic disorders and other disabilities, and much more. In most cases, the unborn babies’ hearts are beating when they are aborted, too. In America, just under 1 million babies are aborted every year. Though abortion rates have been dropping in the past decade, abortion remains the leading cause of death in the United States as well. An estimated 61 million unborn babies have been killed in abortions in the U.S. since Roe v. Wade in 1973. In January, pro-life advocates will gather for the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C. to remember the anniversary of that infamous decision and call for restored protections for the unborn.
