Sports Arena

The sports arena houses a 1/10 mile, three lane walking track as well as two full basketball courts and 4 full volleyball courts. We offer multi-use activities.

Fitness Studio

The Fitness Studio is equipped with a large selection of cardio, plated machines, and free weight equipment. There are mirrored walls and flooring to handle the load. The plated machines offer multi-joint and multi-plane movements. Weight stacks are located for optimal access while in the exercise position. Clearly visible and easy to read instructions make the area approachable for any level user from novice to advanced. Cardio options include Star Trac treadmills, recumbent and upright bikes, and Octane Lateral X Elliptical. The newest additions are the Rogue Monster Rack and Westside Bench, Concept 2 RowERG Rower, EcoBike and Stairmaster. Must be 15 or older to enter the Fitness Studio. Youth 15-17 years old must have a signed waiver with parent signature.

Includes Sports Arena entry when available and all of the amenities of the Fitness Studio and Cross Fit area, including full locker room access. Membership valid at the Sports Arena Fitness Studio and Hermon Park Fitness Center.

Zion Helping Hand Community Garden

Please stop by and visit our community garden at Hermon Park. The garden was designed by students from New Tech High at Zion-Benton East.

Youth Basketball Camp

Summer camp basketball will be intense training for participants grades 1st – 8th. The camp will focus on basic fundamentals of basketball. Teamwork and sportsmanship will also be a major component of the camp. Sign up early, registration is limited.

Senior Fit

An aerobics class designed to help seniors and older adults maintain their cardiovascular health, strength and flexibility. Whether you’re a veteran or a newcomer, we welcome you to come enjoy the benefits of working out in a group with plenty of friendly fun. Classes will be led by various media sources.

Looking for a space to do your crafts and meet new friends? Join us at the Shiloh Center twice month. Don’t forget your sewing, crocheting, knitting, cross stitch, painting or whatever it is you like to do! Coffee and water will be supplied. Call to register for days you would like to attend: 5/8, 5/22, 6/12, 6/26, 7/10, 7/24, 8/14, 8/28. Registration must be made the Friday prior to meeting date.

Need help getting to the grocery store? Zion Park District & Zion Township have partnered together to provide transportation to individuals 55 & older in need in the Zion community. Individuals have a choice to go to one of the following stores: Walmart, Jewel, Aldi or Piggly Wiggly. Individuals will have 1hr to complete their shopping and will be picked up and dropped off at their place of residence. To register for transportation, please contact the Zion Park District at 847-746-5500 one week prior to shopping day. Individuals will be asked which store they choose to visit at the time of registration. Pick-ups begin at 9:00 am. See dates below.

Shalom Wildlife Zoo

With its 4 miles of gravel roads, Shalom Wildlife Zoo is home to 81 species and more than 800 animals. Shalom offers a unique twist from a typical zoo experience. Many animal residents have large natural habitats, which gives you an atmosphere of more like a park. Dubbed “America’s largest petting zoo”, you’ll have the chance to pet and feed many different species. Fee includes admission & transportation. Lunch at the zoo, animal feed & golf cart rental is on your own. Golf cart rental fees: $35 for 2 hours, $15 for an additional 2 hours & $10 per 15 minutes’ late fee. 4 adults can ride on a golf cart. Don’t forget to wear good walking shoes & sunscreen. Cruise The Scenic Fox River

Let’s take a 45-minute journey down the Fox River on St Charles’s very own Fox River Queen or Belle paddlewheel riverboat. This journey will follow the footsteps of Mark Twain and the Pottawatomie Indians. Lunch will be at The Office prior to our journey. Tour will run rain or shine.
