WELCOME BKHS KNIGHT FANS

TO THE 2020 FOOTBALL SEASON>>> Welcome to the 2020 Bishop Kelly Football season. Bishop Kelly football has a very proud tradition and one that has a long history of achievement and excellence. Many student-athletes have considered membership on this team to be one of the highlights of their high school experience and provided Bishop Kelly with a reputation that is highly regarded in high school athletics.

BISHOP KELLY 2020 MEDIA GUIDE PRODUCED BY: GAMEDAY MEDIA

As the school year and new football season begins, everyone in our BK community is feeling the impact of COVID-19. One day we are all going to remember the moment that the COVID-19 pandemic became “real” to us. Through this experience, it has been interesting that in many cases it has actually been the sporting world that has led on this issue—making the difficult but rational and emotionally decisions for public health and safety. This football season has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite everyone in a way that little else does. It creates hope during this time of great uncertainty. Therefore, we must all do our part to succeed in the midst of this global crisis, so our players, coaches and community can realize their dreams. Please respect and support the decisions made by our school and various governing bodies, and as new information or changes arise, we will keep you informed.

We have the opportunity to be part of something really special this season. We have outstanding young men ready to contribute in every way to team success, and we have every confidence in a high quality coaching staff who are dedicated to enhancing the academic, emotional, social, physical and ethical development of our young men. And furthermore emphasizing the importance and essential elements of the six core principles of pursuing victory with honor: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and good citizenship. I look forward to another exciting year watching our football Knights compete on the field, in the classroom and gathering for team Mass, and helping ensure our school continues to be a fantastic Catholic community achieving excellence in learning, service and life. Thank you for your continued support and generosity to building programs and educating students at this fine institution. Again, welcome to Bishop Kelly football where excellence and commitment has been a long standing tradition.

WORKING TOGETHER TO GROW AS CHAMPIONS!

HEAD COACH >>A MESSAGE FROM THE FOOTBALL

It is with great excitement and optimism that we welcome you to the 2020 football season. We will dearly miss the graduates from the 2019 team as they leave Bishop Kelly; we are a better school and program because of their leadership, accomplishments and brotherhood. We wish these graduates all the success in the world and always remember once a KNIGHT always a KNIGHT. The 2019 season was layered with successes and countless moments of courage and faith. We are proud of the 2019 teams Academic State Championship and play-off appearance. We were saddened for our 2020 graduating seniors and the way their school year ended. We do know that these young men will go out in the world and make this a better place. We love them all very much. The 2020 season began in December of 2019 when these new seniors took the next step to be the leaders of this team. We have met through the winter and these young men have stepped up in every way possible. These past several months have been as unique as there have ever has been. During the spring, the 20202021 Senior football players met virtually to complete our leadership workshop. They continued to be leaders for all in our program.

Beginning June 1st the members of the 2020 team have worked out, by running and lifting four days a week. It is because of their hard work and training we are confident that this will be another special season. The entire team participated in a team camp in July; we will have our largest team in BK history. Over 130 players will represent Bishop Kelly this football season, and wear the Black and Gold. These players spent over a week together in July becoming better players and most importantly better young men. Seniors through Freshmen bonded together and became one big KNIGHT FAMILY. Every year we graduate great young men and quality players, this past season was no different. Our 2019 juniors are now the 2020 senior leaders of this team, they are a strong class and ready for the challenge. They will lead us to another successful season both on and off the field. We are very excited to begin this season and see all the hard work that our student athletes have put in throughout the summer. We also would like to thank the alumni, parents, teaches, administration and all the BK family for all their continued support. GO KNIGHTS!
