HEAD COACH >>A MESSAGE FROM THE FOOTBALL

DEAR CORVALLIS HIGH FOOTBALL FANS,

While COVID 19 has created an unprecedented challenge for our athletes and staff, I feel blessed to be part of the process of bringing the great game of football back to Spartan Stadium. I am proud of our kids for putting in the hard work and supporting their teammates not knowing if they would have a chance to play. Through it all, the goal has not changed which is to be the best football team we possibly can be, albeit under some very trying circumstances. Although we can't fill the stands, we will do everything in our power to represent our school and program while creating strong bonds of friendship and memories. We are very optimistic about our season and I'm eager to see our kids meet the challenges that lie before us knowing it wouldn't be possible if not for the numerous businesses, individuals, parents, teachers, and students who support our program. On behalf of our team, I would like to say thank you, enjoy the season, and GO SPARTS! Sincerely,

Chris McGowan Varsity Head Coach

Chris McGowan >> VARSITY HEAD COACH

Coach McGowan has over 30 years of coaching experience starting after graduating from Oregon State University where he was a four-year letterman in wrestling. In 1992 he was hired at McKay High school where he spent five years as an assistant football and wrestling coach. He was the head wrestling coach at McNary High School before returning to Corvallis to lead the wrestling program at Crescent Valley. Coach McGowan returned to his alma mater in 1998 where he was an assistant for four years before getting hired as the head coach in 2002. In all those years, he has a lot of great memories, but one that sticks out is the 2006 State Championship. Chris continues to coach because he loves the game and helping kids learn and watch them grow as individuals in the process. His favorite football team is the Oregon State Beavers. Coach McGowan enjoys camping, hiking and cooking. Chris has 2 daughters, Jessica (27) & McKenna (23) and also a son Caden (14) with wife Eden.

Jovan Stevenson >> ASSISTANT COACH Coach Stevenson graduated from Sunnyside High School in Arizona and attended Oregon State University. This is his 5th year coaching at the High School level. He enjoys volunteering in the community by coaching youth flag football and K-5 track at Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis. Jovan's favorites include former USC player Reggie Bush, eating at McDonalds or anywhere with french fries and listening to any oldies, Gospel & Hip-Hop music. Coach Stevenson aspires to be a leader to the kids, someone they can believe in and can count on always. He also wants to provide them with all the support he can on and off the field. One of Jovan's favorite sports memories includes the experience and journey of making it to the 5A State Championship game in his junior year. Coach Stevenson has two handsome and smart young boys, Elijah Jo Riley-Stevenson and Jayden Joseph Stevenson.

C OAC H ING S TA F F 2021 CORVALLIS FOOTBALL

Lorin Reed >> ASSISTANT COACH Coach Reed graduated from Keene State College in New Hampshire and this is his 5th year coaching at Corvallis High School. He has over a decade of coaching experience at the high school level before coming to Corvallis. Coach Reed's coaching goals are to prepare his players to be able to be at their best both on and off the field and having a positive impact in their lives. Some of Coach Reed's favorites include Tom Brady, anywhere there is good food and good music, and almost anything competitive. Favorite high school memory is beating the #5 ranked team when his team was 0-4. Coach Reed's family includes his wife Mary, son Lorin, their dog Penny (Brittany) and they are welcoming a daughter (Kathleen) in April.

Tim Euhus >> ASSISTANT COACH Coach Euhus graduated from Churchill High School (1999) and played at The Oregon State University (2003). This is his 4rd year coaching at CHS. His previous coaching experience includes Oregon State University (2008-2009) and Crescent Valley HS (20092013). Tim's favorites include athlete Tony Gonzalez, eating at Local Boys/Tommy's on 4th/Starbucks and listening to country music. Coach Euhus enjoys teaching football and using the principles learned in football to teach character. He loves seeing players learn a concept and execute it on Friday Night, or, not execute and review how to increase the probability of success next time. His favorite high School memory includes scoring 2 touchdowns while beating West Albany in the playoffs and beating South Eugene in the state basketball tournament. His favorite Coaching Memory from last season beating Crescent Valley under the Friday Night Lights! Tim's family includes wife Michelle and kids Joya, Timmy Jr., David, and Gracie.

Nick Todorovich >> HEAD FRESHMAN Coach Todorovich has coached football for 26 years with 20 at the high school level. The transformation his players make to young adults is his favorite aspect of coaching. Nick works as a drug and alcohol counselor in the Corvallis community and was named Milestones Counselor of the Year in 2018. As a CHS alum, Nick was a three-sport athlete and played in three state championships in each sport, winning a title in baseball. His favorite athlete is Manu Ginóbili and his favorite restaurant is Sky High. Nick Has four children: Janie (25), Cal (23) and twin boys Brody and Gavin (13).

Randy Silbernagel >> ASSISTANT COACH Coach Silbernagel began his football coaching career at Corvallis High 21 years ago, coming back to help out at his alma mater. He attended LBCC and Oregon State University. Coach S’s favorite aspect of coaching is utilizing his passion for the game to teach kids skills that not only help them in football, but also in life. His favorite memory as a player was beating Lebanon to make the playoffs in 1992. As a coach Randy’s favorite memory was the 2006 State Championship. Some of his favorites include athlete Bo Jackson, country music and eating at Clodfelter’s. Randy and wife Kristin have 3 kids, Taylor (18), Peyton (16) and Hayden (13).
