WELCOME LITTLETON LION FANS TO THE 2021 FOOTBALL SEASON>>>
Thank you for supporting the Littleton High School Lions Football Program. We are thrilled to have you cheer on our team. Littleton High School is a proud public school located in Littleton Public Schools. Just 28 square miles in size, LPS is “big enough to serve you, small enough to know you.” Our district is proud to have received the rating of “Accredited with Distinction” for the seventh consecutive year. This rating reflects strong academic achievement for all students, grades kindergarten through twelve, as well as a very on-time graduation rate and a very low dropout rate. Littleton High School was founded in 1904 and opened at its current site in 1957. Today we are the smallest of the three high schools in our district, and the most diverse. Our faculty believes that our most important work is to help our students question, invent, anticipate and dream - to move beyond us, each prepared to make a living, make a life, and make a difference. Our work is reflected by the diversity of achievement that our students have demonstrated over the decades:

HEAD COACH >>A MESSAGE FROM THE FOOTBALL
PARENTS/GUARDIANS, FACULTY/ STAFF, COMMUNITY, ALUMNI, & FUTURE LIONS,
It is definitely a shocking feeling to be kicking off our football season this Spring! In my 23-years of coaching high school football, our football climate and atmosphere has changed significantly. We have all experienced the highs and lows of what the past year has presented us. The one thing I definitely know, we will not take this Spring football opportunity for granted. We have and will continue to face some adversity to accomplish the success we are all striving to achieve. Now, my mind set will never be swayed. We will constantly stress to the team; a positive mindset and great body language WILL ensure our ability to overcome the obstacles and challenges we will face this Spring and lead the Littleton football program into the future. Last year (Fall 2019), the foundation had been dug with the culture. We battled every game, playing the toughest 3A schedule of any team in the state, playing in the strongest 3A conference in the state, playing 6 teams that were ranked in the top 10 in the state, 5 of the teams made the playoffs and all went on to win at a minimum their first game. We never gave up, we embraced the challenges and looked forward to the opportunity of playing an eventual 3X state champ. From beginning to end, we were able to experience championship football. Our underclassmen were able to see what it will take to get to the level they aspire. In the end of the year coaches meeting, I beamed with pride in our boys and our program as we earned everyone’s respect, with our never give up, never quit attitude, I was asked by many on “how did we do it?” It started in performance. We lifted everyday throughout the season. We had a group of boys that believed in the coaches and each other. We had a staff that was dedicated to the boys. We did it by trusting the process and enjoying the journey. Given our current national atmosphere and culture, it is easy to check it in when everything seems bad. The team stuck together to culminate the year in a week 11 foundation game victory. The program was able to send our seniors out on a positive note and experience the positive emotion of a“WIN,” in their final game on their own field. This year we will capitalize on our momentum we finished with in 2019. And as a program begin filling in that foundation we dug with the strength and support to stabilize the program into future. I am deeply humbled by the support and resiliency of our student-athletes to stay motivated and committed to the future success. This off-season was definitely challenging for everyone. We were stripped of our normal offseason on multiple occasions. Through it all, our players have be resilient. I loved how they wanted more than what we were able to provide them. This is a huge highlight for myself, the motivation of the Littleton Football program is on a rise. There is nothing better than knowing they want to be here and wantto be around. I cannot be more appreciative of the staff we have assembled for the Spring. They are just like our boys, wanting more and always trying to think outside the box on what we can do to be better and improve our team. I am humbled by their belief in the program vision and passion for these young men. A big thank you to the wives, significant others and their families for the sacrifices they make to support their spouses and dads to coach football. I know it is never easy and I want you to know I am in your debt. To the love of my life, Mandy, and my awesome children Jazzy and ZJ, I love you and am truly grateful and thankful to you for allowing me to be able to continue to share my passion!! Parents/guardians, faculty/staff, families, alumni and community, as we press forward with Littleton’s first ever Spring Football Season, I pray to provide you with a little sense of normalcy, an outlet to let everything go for a period of time and to always honor you in all we do. We are all excited to roar! GO LIONS
Coach Z #FAMILY #Believe
Zeric Martinez >> HC/OC/QB "ENJOY THE JOURNEY AND TRUST THE PROCESS" Coach Z is blessed to continue year two (2) at Littleton High School. He comes to Littleton after previously serving at Mountain Vista as their RB coach for the 2 years. Prior to Mountain Vista Coach Z served as DB/Defensive Assistant Coach at Valor Christian. He played HS football at North Mason High School in Washington State (9th & 10th) and right down the road at Sheridan High School (11th & 12th). He went on to play collegiately at Ottawa University in Kansas. After leaving college he received his first coaching opportunity at Sheridan in 1998. Coach Z has an undeniable passion for coaching. Over his 22-years of coaching experience he has served as a Head and/or Assistant coach in Football, Wrestling and Track & Field. Coach Z believes in creating young men and women to be accountable for their actions while carrying themselves with pride and integrity. You will never hear Coach Z stress about winning. “The wins will come when the boys trust in each other, play fundamental football and executing what they have been coached to do Monday-Thursday. Everyday is a chance to be a part of the process. Make the most of every opportunity.” Coach Z is Business Development for Trinity Construction Services, a national roofing and painting company based out of Aurora, CO. He is also the president of the Highlands Ranch Mountain Lions, the largest youth Pop Warner Organization in the State of Colorado. If that was not enough, he received his Management degree with a minor in Business this past spring. For the past 17-years, The Head Coach at home is his beautiful wife, Mandy. They have two amazing children; Jazzy (Jazmyne-16) a varsity cheerleader at Mountain Vista and ZJ (Zeric Jr-10) who you will find as the teams biggest fan and ball boy on Friday Nights.
