WELCOME THUNDER FANS

TO THE 2021 FOOTBALL SEASON>>> DEAR THUNDER NATION, WELCOME TO MOUNTAIN VIEW HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS! On behalf of the entire student body and school community, thank you for your attendance this evening. Whether you are a longtime Mountain View High School supporter, a new member of our community, a visitor and especially the sponsors in this media guide, we appreciate your support and commitment to our outstanding student community. Thunder athletes, managers, coaches and trainers have spent countless hours preparing themselves for their seasons. The effort, commitment and expertise you see this evening comes from hard work and a commitment to excellence that is the hallmark of Thunder athletics. We are all very proud of that commitment. As you well know, the commitment I speak of is not confined to just the field, the gym, the pool, the court or the weight room. Rather it is a commitment that is found in all of the work we do here; in the classroom, in the community. Your enthusiastic and positive support of our students and their coaches, helps to reinforce and validate their extraordinary effort to continue to uphold our great tradition of both athletic and academic excellence.

HEAD COACH >>A MESSAGE FROM THE FOOTBALL

TO MY THUNDER FOOTBALL FAMILY,

As the Athletic Director and Head Football Coach at Mountain View High School, I would like to personally thank you for sharing your time at our football games and for your continued support of our football family; we want you to know that you are extremely valued. As I enter my 13th year as the Head Varsity Coach at Mountain View and 22nd year in coaching, I want you to know that I consider it a blessing to be coaching at such a beautiful place and at such a great school as Mountain View High School. Over the years I have been surrounded by family, friends, coaches and players that have sacrificed countless hours and have given so much of themselves to make this place what it is today. Above all, I am convinced that the relationship that we build and cherish through this great sport is what really matters. Championships are great, but developing Champions who go on to be great husbands, fathers, and community members is what really matters and makes me so very humble and proud to be the head coach at Mountain View High School. As we go out this football season, we will strive to teach and learn from one another the many lifelong lessons that extend well beyond the playing field … in doing so, we will get To The Top!

>>THUNDER FOOTBALL: TO THE TOP Building Champions; Winning Championships In order to truly comprehend the motto, "To The Top," one must first understand that it is only achieved when an individual commits to be his very best self with the following covenants: Love, Preparation and Competition.

LOVE We desire to treat those people that we come in contact with in a way that elevates their self-efficacy and promotes a positive environment, wherein individuals are willing and eager to take risks.

PREPARE We are committed to growing academically, athletically and in our personal relationships. We will seek to improve our best self in all aspects of our daily lives by relentlessly practicing the fundamental principles of hard work, organization and attention to detail.

COMPETE We seek to create an environment where competitive greatness is fostered in all arenas. We embrace the challenges

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT … TO THE TOP!

Adam C. Mathieson Varsity Head Coach
